Clint Eastwood’s latest directorial effort has the media in its sights. “Richard Jewell” tells the story of one of the earliest notable victims of out-of-control government agencies and fake news. Richard Jewell saved countless lives at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Ga. Working security, the man found a backpack with three pipe bombs in it. He alerted police and helped to evacuate the area. Though his actions were nothing short of heroic, Jewell was then at the center of a media firestorm. With outlets reporting incomplete and false information, Jewell was painted as a prime suspect. It didn’t help either that federal agencies went along with this narrative and

As Democrats in Congress assess a CIA analyst’s “whistleblower” allegations against President Trump regarding Ukraine, one thing already seems clear: There has been a breakdown within the government of traditional restrictions against sharing intelligence beyond those with a need to know it.Unlike most whistleblowers, the CIA analyst was not a witness to events. Instead, he functioned as a kind of investigative reporter who worked sources to develop the information detailed in the complaint. While some have praised the informer for unearthing questionable behavior by the president, some experts in national security law say that the whistleblower and his sources may have violated regulations aimed at preserving state secrets.

If the Trump administration continues to not cooperate with Congressional investigations, the president could be impeached on that alone, top Democrats threatened on Wednesday.
Speaking at a press conference Wednesday, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff reaffirmed Democrats’ new stance that they’ll consider any resistance from the administration as “further evidence of obstruction.”
“Of course that was an article of impeachment against President Nixon,” the California Democrat said.
For his part, Mr. Trump said Wednesday he was willing to go along with Democrats, but it’s not clear how far that cooperation will extend.

For the last forty years women in the Velayat-e-Faqih, Iran is one of the biggest problems in Iranian affairs. Tehran has spent billions of dollars, deployed thousands of forces, and committed countless crimes to suppress social movements that threaten the regime’s restrictions on women’s rights. Something it continues to do so today. Only women, like Maryam Rajavi, and the women of Velayat-e-Faqih are standing up against the repressive regimes. Democrats are panicked because Biden is humming up the works on impeachment.
Biden has admitted that he held up a billion bucks in a loan guarantee unless it fired the prosecutor who was going after his son, a self-admitted coke addict. After his drug use snuffed his Navy career, Hunter Biden landed a $600,000-a-year no-show job by a corrupt Ukraine company with ties to Putin.
Ukraine fired the prosecutor and got its money.
Ukrainians got rid of that government this summer.
President Donald John Trump asked the new president about the prosecution of the company. He said it is on-going.

The great triumph of recent American politics is for the people of your fine country to have elected as president a man who is the precise embodiment of what supercilious Europeans think Americans are really like. Pig-ignorant, arrogant, jingoistic, contemptuous of foreigners, loud-mouthed, badly dressed and irredeemably bumptious. So consuming is the European antipathy toward Donald Trump — he’s never read a book! He eats steak with ketchup! — that it afflicts leading politicians across our continent, people who would be better advised to button it a while and show a little bit of diplomacy to the leader of the free world. This win sets the stage for President Trump to deploy $7.5 billion in countervailing duties against products from the EU. Keep in mind, a final WTO ruling means the EU cannot retaliate against any WTO-authorized countermeasures. The downstream ramifications are very significant. Think about it: at 25% the U.S. could tariff $30 billion in EU goods.

Remember when intelligence leaker Ed Snowden's gentlest critics said that he should have taken his complaints of intelligence abuses through established internal channels instead of steal thousands of documents of top secret intelligence files and then leak them to the press? That 'mistake' - and I don't think it was one -- is what drove him to seek refuge in the old Soviet Union just a few years ago?
Remember when the same was said of then-Private Bradley Manning, who leaked troves of military secrets to Wikileaks before being packed off to Leavenworth? He should have gone through channels...

President Trump and his allies are embracing a war with the media as part of the growing impeachment fight.
The president, several congressional Republicans and high-profile pundits are turning their fury toward reporters, accusing them of trying to undercut the president and key officials like Attorney General Bill Barr.
The backlash comes amid a steady stream of reports that are broadening the scope of who within the administration has knowledge of President Trump's actions toward Ukraine that are at the center of House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry.

The Democrats are experiencing the giddy delight of having finally summoned up the stones to push the big red “IMPEACHMENT!” button. Their tawdry joy will pass. It’s a dumb idea, and they will soon regret it. This sorry scenario brings to mind Napoleon’s apocryphal advice to never interrupt your enemy when he, she or xe is making a mistake, and if the cheesy performance art piece that is this bogus scandal wasn’t so poisonous to our body politic, it would be hilarious.
Right now, the Dems are thrilled because they’re finally free of the tyranny of fairness and honesty and coherence, and they can indulge their deepest fantasies

The Democrats' purported outrage about President Donald Trump's phone call with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky might be taken seriously by the Republicans were it not for the Democrats' drive to oust Trump from the moment he won the presidency.
CNN's Van Jones, with zero proof, attributed Trump's victory to "whitelash." Trump received 57% of the white vote, actually a lower percentage of the white vote than the 59% received by Mitt Romney, the Republican presidential candidate in 2012. In 2008, Democrat Barack Obama received a greater percentage of the white vote than John Kerry did four years earlier. Obama also received 95% of the black vote. None dared call it "blacklash."

More U.S. voters (including 69% of independents) are angry at the media than are angry at either President Donald Trump or his political opponents, survey results released by Rasmussen Reports on Wednesday show.
“How angry are you at the media?”:
Angry: 61% (of which, 40% are Very Angry)
Not Angry: 38% (of which, 19% are Not at All Angry)
The 61% expressing anger at the media is up from 53% in June of last year, but off from its high of 66% in June of 2010.
Voters’ anger at the media is also greater than their anger at either President Donald Trump (53%) or his political opponents (49%) and far more Republicans (83%)

When wrongdoing by Democrats is discussed, the media like to call charges against them “conspiracy theories,” implying that crazed partisans are imagining phony connections where none in fact exist. But when people with no visible connection with each other work together in secret to accomplish some goal and then lie about their collaboration, the dreaded word “conspiracy” becomes completely appropriate.
And that’s what the charges that Nancy Pelosi tasked Adam Schiff’s House Intelligence Committee (and 5 other House committees) with investigating, with an eye toward impeaching President Trump, now look like.

Employer-provided health plans now cost a gigantic $20,576 a year for family coverage, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. Technically, the employer pays most of it, but labor costs are labor costs. The more that's spent on benefits the less can go to wages.
In reality, it's $20,000 out of every worker's pocket -- money that could have bought a subcompact car or upgraded a kitchen. (Snip)
The No. 1 reason health costs are soaring: obesity and obesity-linked diseases. An obese adult uses 42% more health care than a healthy-weight adult. A morbidly obese adult uses 81% more.

Top Democratic 2020 White House hopefuls gathered in Las Vegas Wednesday for a forum on gun control held on the 2nd anniversary of the deadliest mass shooting in American history.
At the forum, sponsored by MSNBC with the gun control groups March for Our Lives and Giffords, Democrats pushed for far stricter federal gun laws than Democrats have ever supported in the past, including several candidates openly endorsing a gun confiscation program.
While Democrats running for president push to roll back gun rights, however, the far-left field of candidates is pushing everything else on their wish list as a “right”

In these times of near civil war, Americans agree on almost nothing. Yet sometime in 2019, almost all of America finally got “woke” on China.
For years, our leaders had yawned about Silk Road neo-imperialism in Africa and Asia, and gross abuses of human rights against Chinese religious minorities and political dissidents.
Almost every assumption Washington made, by both Democratic and Republican administrations, was logically flawed at best. At worst, these calculations were a weird mix of conservative commercial greed, liberal political correctness, and shared screwball naïveté.

During the debate over Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, a 1998 law-review article she co-authored came under scrutiny. The Alliance for Justice, a left-wing group, used the article to suggest Barrett’s religious views made her a threat to the rule of law. Senator Dianne Feinstein infamously encapsulated the point by saying, “Dogma lives loudly within you.” Barrett was nevertheless confirmed in 2017. Ever since then, she has been discussed as a potential Supreme Court nominee.
And so the criticism has been revived — but this time it is taking a more extreme form, and is coming from the right.

An anti-Trump whistleblower at the center of ongoing Democratic efforts to impeach President Donald Trump coordinated with Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and his Democratic staff prior to filing his whistleblower complaint, The New York Times reported on Wednesday afternoon. The bombshell report that the whistleblower and his Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) colleagues actively worked exclusively with congressional Democrats before filing the complaint raises serious questions about whether the complainant followed federal laws providing whistleblower protections for employees within the U.S. intelligence community.

Buried somewhere in recent impeachment reporting was the real news that federal prosecutors are conducting an international dragnet to find the perpetrators of the Russia hoax. Last week, the Justice Department issued a statement:
A team led by U.S. Attorney John Durham is separately exploring the extent to which a number of countries, including Ukraine, played a role in the counterintelligence investigation directed at the Trump campaign during the 2016 election.
It was later learned that Attorney General Barr was absent from Washington and could not answer questions because he was in Italy, where Josef Mifsud—the Western asset who plays a Russian collaborator in the Mueller Report—lives. Officials

Because the American people elected Donald Trump as their president, they are the enemy of the Deep State. If you are an enemy of the American people, you are an enemy of the United States. The Constitution, in Section 3 of Article III, says those who give aid and comfort to the enemies of this country are traitors to it.
President Trump is an existential threat to the entrenched ruling class. The Deep State is a part of that class, and it attacks the president on their behalf. Any and all means are justified in attacking him and in defending their power.

After nearly three years since Trump's inauguration, Democrats have finally mustered up the courage to go full throttle into impeachment mode, proceeding from the president's whistleblower-stricken phone call with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky. Despite this overwhelmingly important factor, Democrats are proceeding full force with impeachment — and it couldn't be better for the president. If the economy didn't seal it for the "on the fence" soccer moms, the humiliation of

As Napoleon Bonaparte once said, never interfere with your enemy when he is making a mistake.
To paraphrase the scene in The Godfather, when Clemenza demonstrates to Michael how to shoot a gun, impeachment will reveal the bad blood that's been brewing in the Democratic Party since Trump's inauguration, between the Pelosis and the "new" Democrats, and it will further expose the Tessio Republicans and unify our nationalist base. Former Vice President Joe Biden has a plan for gun control.
It certainly isn't the most radical plan out there. He wants to expand the list of crimes for which convicts can be deprived of their gun rights to include misdemeanor hate crimes. He also wants to create a new voluntary gun purchase program. (Such programs are often mistakenly referred to as "buy-backs," but that syntax falsely implies that the government ever owned any of the guns in the first place.) These programs are usually a harmless waste of money so long as they remain voluntary. But they are a waste.
Most importantly, Biden wants to create a national gun registry.

It should by now be obvious to the meanest intelligence that the Democrats are determined to impeach President Trump with or without credible evidence that he has committed any act resembling “high crimes and misdemeanors.” The “whistleblower complaint” that Nancy Pelosi used as the pretext for launching her ersatz impeachment inquiry contains little but hearsay and fabrication, while her claim that it proves Trump has “violated the Constitution” fails the laugh test. In the end, however, impeachment is less about offenses committed by the president than the desire of the Washington establishment to put down what they see as a peasants’ revolt.

News that Washington didn’t tell Ukraine it was delaying aid until a month after President Trump’s phone call to its leader punches a gaping hole in Democrats’ impeachment case.
On Wednesday, BuzzFeed reported that Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky believed $391 million in military funding was already headed to Kiev when he chatted with Trump in August.
Dems charge the prez held up the money to pressure Zelensky to probe Joe Biden and his son. Hard to see how that works when Zelensky didn’t know about the aid holdup.
This follows the awkward fact that several of the whistleblower’s other claims about that call aren’t borne out by the transcript.

The judge in the murder trial of Amber Guyger, the former Dallas police officer sentenced to 10 years for fatally shooting her neighbor, caused a stir Wednesday when she hugged the convicted killer after the sentencing.
While some praised the move as a demonstration of religious faith, others -- including former ESPN anchor Jemele Hill -- criticized the judge's action as "unacceptable."
Guyger, a four-year veteran of the Dallas Police Department, had been fired and charged with manslaughter after she entered Botham Jean's apartment on Sept. 6, 2018, thinking it was her own and shot him twice, killing him. She was indicted on a murder charge two months later.
