A charity event planned in honor of an officer killed in a 2018 mass shooting at a country music bar in in Southern California has been postponed indefinitely -- reportedly because a police chief didn't want Republicans invited.
The Blue Bowl, a charity flag football game, was intended to raise money for the family of fallen Ventura County Sgt. Ron Helus as well as other officers killed in the line of duty, FOX 11 of Los Angeles reported. Helus died last Nov. 7, when a 28-year-old suspect allegedly attacked the Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks, killing a total of 13 people and wounding about a dozen others.

There must be something in the California water making them all insane. No wonder so many sane people want to leave.

You have to choose your battles wisely. Sounds like this chief chose the wrong hill to defend.

So they wanted an event were nobody came? Its not like Dems will support the police. Or Illegals support the police. Or Californistan 'independent' leftist support the police.

These leftists are insane.
Republicans, Conservatives are generally more generous to actual charities than moderates and left wingers, especially when it comes to supporting the police, Democrats generally hate the police unless they are helping ANTIFA bash in the skulls of "Proud Boys" and the like.

This is a very good example of a police chief who deserves absolutely no protection provided by hi badge. He has decided to make himself into an enemy to the very people he gets paid to protect.

This pathetic creature is not representative of Ventura County, let alone California.
He is a stand alone representative of The Obama Resistance.
Here is an article that includes his photo.

Time to cut off any federal funds these cops are receiving. Also arrests of police chiefs that will not enforce federal immigration law on the basis of obstruction of justice needs to commence.

Re #5, yes, they are…
Sometimes it is uphill when we have the #1’s doing a broad brush on California because of one bad police chief, who represents just one city, who is protesting a charity event that is for a fallen Ventura County sheriff’s deputy. Thouand Oaks is only one city in Ventura County. How that gets extrapolated into “California Bad” is beyond me.
I’ll wait for the fallout. The law enforcement community is not happy.

Hey Chief! Let's only send money from liberals to your precinct ! If he had to rely on ONLY Dem money, he wouldn't have a police force. pathetic

Chief Hagel should resign in dishonor immediately. Now the cops are gonna determine if your politics mean you;re worth protecting as is their duty? He is NO cop, he is a hack.

Sounds like republicans could have a good argument to stop paying their portion of their current property taxes and divert them to their own police force.

Funny, leftists don't seem to mind confiscating our tax money.
Leftists and their useful idiots don't like to give; they only want to take and take over what others have worked hard for. A great example is how Marxist, socialist, communist, fascists, leftists always take over an established country that's doing well or one they've strategically turned into a hellhole so they could take it over. They never build; they tear down (examples: boy and girl scouts, religion, government, business, culture, society, etc.). They rob and steal; they don't provide. They never promote good or anything moral; they change the definition of what's good, right, and moral. They can't sell what they do, so they have to use force. They do everything they do to suit their evil ends. They live by, the ends justify the means.
The police forces around the country have been infiltrated; we'd better take notice.

Interested in finding out if the Thousand Oaks PD and/or Chief Hegel had responded to the massacre at the bar, I found the most complete coverage at Wikipedia. I don’t see a mention of the Thousand Oaks PD or its chief in this information:
Three minutes after the first 9-1-1 calls,[17][18] Ventura County Sheriff's Sgt. Ron Helus and two California Highway Patrol officers arrived at the scene.[11] Hearing gunshots coming from the building, Helus and a California Highway Patrol officer ran inside and immediately came under fire. In the ensuing gunfight, Helus was shot five times by the shooter who used a flashlight with a laser sight on his pistol in the large, darkened, smoke-filled room.[19] Positioned between a Highway Patrol officer and the gunman, Helus was also accidentally struck by a bullet from the officer's rifle that went through his heart and fatally wounded him.[3] Moments later responding Ventura County Sheriff's deputies, who were securing the perimeter, located and evacuated Helus to safety outside. A SWAT team and other police officers arrived on the scene shortly afterwards.[11]
So the only responders were Sheriff’s Sgt. Helus and two Highway Patrol officers. And other personnel from the Sheriff’s Department. No mention of the Thousand Oaks PD, no mention of Chief Hegel.
How dare he!!!!!
UPDATE: “Chief” Tim Hagel is not a police chief. It seems that - as in many counties - the smaller unincorporated cities and areas contract with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department for police services. His Sheriff’s Department title: Commander, Thousand Oaks Police Services. Can you imagine what this does to the morale of the personnel of the Ventura Sheriff’s Department? This money was to go to the widow and family of their fallen officer.

Demoncrats believe they can use the police as their personal gestapo, if they have any use for them at all. Leftist mayors such as Michael Signer (a Virginia Democratic activist with close ties to Barack Obama and John Podesta) of Charlottesville either order the police to stand down when conservatives are attacked by antifa types, or they are actively used to herd them together to create chaos and violence, so the conservatives can be blamed.
This police chief typifies the new game plan that the left is using to attack conservatives. They are infiltrating positions such as mayor, police chief, secretary of state and whatever political position that gives them power over police actions and how the votes are counted.

Police chiefs are notoriously leftist, typically with their nose glued to the posterior of the mayor.
I know many police officers, and most of them have nothing good to day about their chief, although a few PDs here locally have apparently pretty good chiefs. Kinda amazing. The larger the city, the heavier the politics and the less likely that the police chief is not a literal puppet of the mayor, Blue Bloods notwithstanding.

Excuse additional post, but I have become curious about Commander Tim Hagel, who has been all over the Sheriff’s Department in a multitude of jobs, none of which could have lasted that long. And is a participant in the Council on Foundations, one of those organizations that didn’t fit with his position and sounded very Soros-y. Hagel’s page at the Council on Foundations is blocked:

The Council on Foundations was listed here:

Not your usual PD bear...

Since most crime is the result of Democrat policies this makes sense to them. Police chief is usually a political appointment, nothing to do with being a good cop.

I thought police are suppose to be non-partisan. Protect and serve all. I think I would protest my taxes being used to further the lefts agenda. That is what this “cop” is doing. He is a political hack. He should be fired

Now he is connected to our law enforcement?

Yet another example of Leftwing/Democrat intolerance, as if we need any more examples! They're such charmers.
Read some history of socialists around the world: a vision of bloodthirstiness of unremitting intolerance. It's only a few steps or incidences from the kind of hatred being inflamed by Dems today.

Pretty obnoxious, politically charged leftist guy, this police chief. I was born not far from there, sad to see this mess going on.
Very glad I live in Kansas now.
