A mother in distress called police. Her son had refused to take his mental-health medication. He was delusional about a government conspiracy against him and had threatened to end his own in life in a shootout with police. Michael Atkinson, the intelligence community’s inspector general at the center of the so-called “whistleblower” report, is earning Robert Mueller-level adoration by the press.
Atkinson, we are told, is a truth-seeker with no partisan agenda or political grudge. “The intelligence community’s chief watchdog, Michael Atkinson, is known to his peers and colleagues as a highly cautious ‘straight shooter’ who tends to keep his head down,” cooed Politico reporter Natasha Bertrand on September 23.(Snip)n July 2016, the exact month that former FBI Director James Comey officially opened a case against the Trump campaign, Atkinson was named senior counsel to John Carlin, the head of the National Security Division.

There has not in modern American history been such a preposterous excuse for a threat to the presidency as the Ukraine affair. The “favor” the president sought from President Zelinsky of Ukraine was that he reopen his inquiry into corruption so there would be more support in Washington for aid to Ukraine’s self-defense against Russian territorial intrusion.
About 500 words later in the transcript, President Trump asked that the question of the Bidens’ involvement in Ukraine be scrutinized too, without indicating a desired response, (though he said, correctly, that it looked “horrible”). If, as they claim, the Bidens are innocent of any wrongdoing or impropriety, the Ukrainians presumably will say

Methinks Mr. Atkinson doth protest too much. Prior to the current “whistle-blower complaint” the Intelligence Community Inspector General did not accept Urgent Concern whistle-blower claims without first hand knowledge. However, the ICIG revised the protocol in August 2019 to accept a CIA complaint against President Donald Trump.
Today the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community, Michael Atkinson, presented a four-page justification explaining why the IC changed the Urgent Concern rules to allow the CIA to target President Trump with anonymous complaints based on hearsay:

There is no reason to cut back on red meat for health reasons, according to a controversial claim by a group of leading scientists. Researchers in Canada, Spain and Poland have cast a shadow over eating advice adopted by health organisations around the world. In a landmark paper, the academics analysed past studies of how eating meat affected the health of more than four million people. They found no evidence that eating beef, pork and lamb could increase the rates of heart disease, cancer, stroke or type 2 diabetes–despite fears. And the team also said they found nothing strong enough to signal

With a national election coming in 13 months, Democrats seem convinced they cannot win. So they revert to another two years of the Russia Hoax II. A fabricated scandal created by deep state elements, coordinated with leading Democrats, and laid out in the left-wing media like a PR campaign. As they continue to trample the constitution in their efforts to destroy President Trump, Democrats are on the verge of triggering a Civil War in America. The Whistleblower hoax and its attendant impeachment hysteria is a distraction to cover up the criminality of numerous high ranking Obama officials.

After Trump took office, liberals fantasized about Trump getting impeached and then having Hillary, through a rather convoluted series of events, installed as president. Harvard University professor Lawrence Lessig even laid out a step-by-step process for that to happen. Trump would, of course, either resign or be impeached and removed from office, after which Pence would assume office and immediately resign. At the time, Paul Ryan was speaker of the House, and he was next in line for the presidency, but for some bizarre reason would choose Hillary for vice president. The circumstances were beyond absurd, but the left has a new, but similar fantasy:

Democrats are employing the classic spaghetti on the wall offense in order to impeach the President. In Nancy Pelosi’s own words, as read by Rep. It is about the Democrat and liberal media “operation” to destroy the presidency of Donald Trump and nullify the rights of the American’s who did dare to vote for him. The majority of Americans still do not favor impeachment. However, more than two-thirds of Democrats do. There are several reasons, however, to believe that this picture is incomplete and could change. Impeachment hoax or not, there are three logical defenses for allegations from last weeks first impeachment hearing. Stepping away from the emotional ones that the mainstream media, driven somewhat by Democratic sensationalism, created for the public to soak up like a dry patch of grass after a fresh rainstorm. Why do otherwise smart people say that impeachment has nothing to do with crimes but is rather a brute political calculation?
As one example out of many, Kimberley Strassel of the Wall Street Journal said Wednesday on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” that Congress “could impeach the president for laughing the wrong way. They can impeach for anything they want.”Well, actually, no they can’t. Not unless they pass a law first that says “laughing the wrong way” is either a high crime or a misdemeanor. Assuming that “high” is not an early constitutional reference to cannabis, then laughing is unlikely to be a crime of any sort, yet our pesky Constitution

CBS Reporter Scott Pelley led the broadcast of 60-Minutes presentation of the House impeachment of Donald Trump with a stunning claim: (Photo) “Tonight, “60 Minutes” has obtained a letter that indicates the government whistleblower who set off the impeachment inquiry of President Trump is under federal protection, because he or she fears for their safety.” (Video and Transcript) The claim is quite something. A CIA operative that needs to be put under federal protection? Wow. Immediately CNN and the media pounced on the opportunity to promote the “whistleblower” as a victim.

CLEARWATER — For an elected body, the Downtown Development Board’s power goes only so far. It does not have authority to pass city ordinances or hire and fire staff.
Its influence lies in helping shape how the world sees downtown. Its $267,000 operating budget, funded through a special tax on downtown property owners, is spent on items like festivals and holiday lighting.
But this modest, volunteer board could make history next month with what might be the first elected body comprised of a majority of members of the Church of Scientology, downtown’s largest property owner. Three of the five candidates running for three seats in the Oct. 8 election

This month, Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) head Andrew Wheeler rescinded the infamous Waters of the United States (WOTUS) regulation. This rule, a case study in EPA regulatory overreach, asserted federal government control under the Clean Water Act over millions of acres of private property across the country, based on the absurd theory that these vast swaths of dry land were really the federal government’s “navigable waters.” When the Obama administration published the WOTUS Rule in 2015, it generated widespread intense opposition and more than a dozen lawsuits challenging it.

Thanks Breitbart News senior contributor and “Secret Empires” author Peter Schweizer during Sunday’s “Life, Liberty & Levin” on Fox News Channel detailed Joe and Hunter Biden’s Ukraine connections.
Schweizer told host Mark Levin that the former vice president’s son was being paid by Ukraine despite not having expertise in the energy sector while Joe Biden was the “point-person” on former President Barack Obama’s administration in dealing with Ukraine.
“The key question here that nobody seems to want to ask in the media is: What was he being paid for? He wasn’t being paid for his expertise. What was he being paid for? And what were the Ukrainians expecting to get in return?

Sen. Corey Booker (D-N.J.), now one of many Democrats running for president, said on Sunday that he believes the children of current presidents and vice presidents should not sit on the boards of foreign companies while their parents are in office.
But never mind that it happened with the Bidens: "This is Trump's scandal," Booker insisted.
Jake Tapper, the host of CNN's "State of the Union," asked Booker: "Do you think it's acceptable for the child of a president or a vice president to be sitting on the board of a foreign company while their parent is conducting foreign policy?"

An attorney for the whistleblower in the Trump-Ukraine scandal said Sunday that CBS’ “60 Minutes” had “completely misinterpreted” a document from his legal group, after the news outlet tweeted that the whistleblower was now under federal protection.
On Sunday night, CBS wrote on Twitter: “‘60 Minutes’ has obtained a letter that indicates the government whistleblower who set off the impeachment inquiry of President Trump is under federal protection because they fear for their safety.”
Story Continued Below
Two hours later, following significant reaction to the report, Attorney Mark Zaid responded: “NEWS ALERT: 60 Minutes completely misinterpreted contents of our letter, which is now published online.”

Aside from the emotional issue that Democrats, NeverTrumpers, and celebrities loathe Donald Trump, recently Representative Al Green (D-Texas) reminded us why the Democrats are trying to impeach the president rather than just defeat him in the 2020 general election.
“To defeat him at the polls would do history a disservice, would do our nation a disservice,” Green said. “I’m concerned that if we don’t impeach the president, he will get re-elected.” Translated, that means Green accepts either that Trump’s record is too formidable or that the agendas of his own party’s presidential candidates are too frightening for the American people to elect one of them.

Apparently, it's not just enough to attack President Trump any more.
The mainstream media is doing its level best to attack anyone defending Trump, too. They've got venom to burn and nowhere was it more obvious than on the Sunday talk shows.
As leftists and anti-Trumpsters glide right through interviews with zero probing, Trump defenders, in contrast, are getting the third degree.
Just look at how bad it was over the weekend - here's a list.
Start with 60 Minutes, which featured two anti-Trump Democrats and one pro-Trump Republican, stacking the airtime for the left. "I always said, we will follow the facts where they take us," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi claimed

Some are warning of the worst should the identity of the so-called whistleblower behind a report alleging President Donald Trump committed wrongdoing in a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky be revealed.
However, according to Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL), who has served as both a prosecutor and defense attorney prior to serving in the U.S. House of Representatives, two of the key aspects of these allegations fail to meet standards for impeachment — the transcript of the call, which he said showed nothing impeachable and the whistleblower report, which he said lacked “probative” value.
“There are two parts to it,” Brooks said on Huntsville, AL radio WVNN’s “The Jeff Poor Show.”

The entrenched elites of both parties and a large portion of the corrupt upper federal bureaucracy understand the mortal threat President Trump poses to them. (snip) The President’s defense in the Senate, accordingly, must engage, spotlight, scrutinize and expose the entire course of odious conduct by the President’s corrupt attackers, from their first spinning of the Russia collusion hoax, through the latest chapter in their attempted coup.
Everything will be relevant in the Senate trial, and everyone, no exceptions, should be subpoenaed and interrogated under oath. Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Brennan, James Comey, Peter Strzok, and the entire gang behind the coup.

Mitch McConnell told NPR last Friday that, if the House impeaches President Trump, “the Senate immediately goes into a trial.” This is music to Democratic ears, despite the infinitesimal chance of conviction, because they desperately need the sordid spectacle into which impeachment trials inevitably devolve. The Senate, however, isn’t required to try the President. That chamber possesses the “sole power to try all impeachments,” but is under no constitutional obligation to do so. The Democrats ignored House precedent and longstanding tradition to launch their “impeachment inquiry.” Why should Senate Republicans consider themselves bound by precedent and procedural rules where the trial is concerned?

We battlecons are torn over the Democrats’ decision to be dumb enough to double-down on impeaching the President after three years of non-stop humiliation. Crusty Bob Mueller was a bust, their hero Michael Avenatti is looking at hard time in every sense of the word, and they were stunned to find that a huge portion of the American people thought it was pretty cool to have a POTUS who could score with Playboy Playmates.
On the one hand, it’s bad because this impeachment garbage is bad for the country. The damage it is doing to our institutions – really, that our institutions are doing to themselves in their shameful service

In the week since I last wrote about the accusations made against President Trump as a result of his July 25 telephone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, a lot has happened. Both the rough transcript of the call and the “whistleblower complaint” that supposedly resulted from it have been released, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has formally commenced impeachment proceedings against the president.
Both the transcript and the complaint are now required reading for anyone claiming to be politically informed. They raise a number of questions about the conversation and the unidentified “whistleblower,” but they manifestly do not demonstrate that Trump should be impeached.

None of us are perfect, most of us decidedly imperfect, but almost all of us know that our greatest responsibility in the world — those of us who have children and even those of us who don't — is to raise our children well, to be the best parents we can be.
Whatever you think about the Clintons and Donald Trump — about their views, values, and often questionable behavior — they evidently, despite all, raised their children decently. They paid attention. The proof is in the results. Chelsea Clinton and all the many Trump progeny are successful functioning adults, in several cases high-functioning

Not the worst, just the most miserable.
We've identified the 50 most miserable cities in the US, using census data from 1,000 cities across the country, taking into consideration population change (because if people are leaving it's usually for a good reason), the percentage of people working, median household incomes, the percentage of people without healthcare, median commute times, and the number of people living in poverty.
Often, these cities have been devastated by natural disasters. They've had to deal with blight, and with high crime rates. Economies have struggled after industry has collapsed. These cities also tend to have high rates of addiction.

Fox & Friends invited author and national talk-show host Mark Levin on Sunday to discuss the budding effort by House Democrats to impeach President Trump. Levin ripped the media repeatedly, and protested the idea that the Democrats are going to try and remove the president from office by using an anonymous "whistleblower" who didn't even have first-hand access to the events that are allegedly impeachable.Levin told Ed Henry, "You know, Ed, I've been watching you and a lot of reporters, and you haven't once asked for the identity of the so-called whistleblower. Why is that?" Henry said "I want to know the identity."

"No one is above the law," said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as she announced the Democratic effort to impeach President Trump over the Ukraine matter. The phrase has become a Democratic mantra in the new impeachment push. But it could, in the end, serve to highlight the weakness of the Democratic strategy.
The reason is, by stressing that Trump is not "above the law," Democrats are basing their case against the president on the argument that he broke the law and must be held accountable. But it's not at all clear that Trump broke any laws in the Ukraine matter. In the face of a vigorous Republican defense, any argument

WASHINGTON – Joe Biden’s presidential campaign is asking top network executives to stop booking President Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani.
Biden campaign officials Anita Dunn and Kate Bedingfield wrote a letter to network news presidents, chief anchors and the executive producers of the Sunday shows for ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN and Fox News Channel, Deadline reported.
“We are writing today with grave concern that you continue to book Rudy Giuilani on your air to spread false, debunked conspiracy theories on behalf of Donald Trump,” the letter said.

In the movie “Lord of War,” arms dealer Simeon Weisz tells Yuri Orlov, his competitor and the central character in the film, “The problem with gun runners going to war is that there is no shortage of ammunition.” The problem with politicians going into impeachments is that there is no shortage of scandals. That danger may soon be realized, as momentum builds for the impeachment of President Trump.
The only way for Democrats to remove Trump from office would be to hold a trial that highlights the controversial business dealings of Hunter Biden, son of their potential presidential nominee Joe Biden. The result could be mutually assured

“Whistleblower” is the media’s word of the week. They still working tirelessly to overturn the 2016 election. Unfortunately, it’s the wrong word to describe the deep state operative accusing President Trump of “Collusion – Part Two,” namely conspiring with Ukraine to rig the 2020 election. Instead of whistleblower, the proper term is gossiper, as this person filed a complaint, likely written by others, about something he or she had been told, but had no firsthand knowledge of.The National Whistleblower Center supports, “Efforts to expose and help prosecute corruption and other wrongdoing.” The Ukraine whistleblower is doing the exact opposite. Despite a focus on reviving the U.S. manufacturing sector, many reports predict that millions of jobs will be lost to automation over time.
In fact, a report from Oxford Economics estimates that 20 million manufacturing jobs around the world will disappear by 2030 – equal to 8.5 percent of the global manufacturing workforce.
The report estimates that 260,000 manufacturing jobs in the U.S. have already been lost to automation.
“The long-term trend in manufacturing over the past 100 years has been for automation to feed through,” Ryan Bourne, R. Evan Scharf Chair for the Public Understanding of Economics at the Cato Institute, told FOX Business. “Given improvements in technology and AI robotics,

Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said she admired how fellow first lady Eleanor Roosevelt stuck by President Franklin D. Roosevelt after he had an extramarital affair, and drew vague comparisons to her relationship with Bill Clinton, during an interview with CBS News.
Clinton was interviewed alongside her daughter Chelsea on "CBS Sunday Morning" this week, to promote "The Book of Gutsy Women."
"I think she was one of the greatest Americans in our history," Hillary Clinton said of Eleanor. She highlighted Eleanor's reaction to the affair in the book and discussed the personal parallels she saw between the two of them.

One of the greatest public services President Donald Trump has done for the nation is forcing institutions and people to reveal their true character.
While this has been the most valuable when it comes to the media, it has also been valuable when it comes to unmasking globalist Republicans.
This was again on display this week, most notably in the revelation that Paul Ryan was inciting Fox News from his position on the board of Fox Corporation to "decisively break" with President Trump.

Update at End: CBS News’ 60 Minutes reported Sunday night the anti-Trump whistleblower whose complaint sparked the impeachment probe against Trump is under federal protection, according to a reading of a letter sent by one of the whistleblower’s attorneys, Andrew Bakaj. The Intelligence Community Inspector General who received the complaint determined the whistleblower is biased against Trump, finding “some indica of an arguable political bias on the part of the Complainant in favor of a rival political candidate.”
