There is no reason to cut back on red meat for health reasons, according to a controversial claim by a group of leading scientists. Researchers in Canada, Spain and Poland have cast a shadow over eating advice adopted by health organisations around the world. In a landmark paper, the academics analysed past studies of how eating meat affected the health of more than four million people. They found no evidence that eating beef, pork and lamb could increase the rates of heart disease, cancer, stroke or type 2 diabetes–despite fears. And the team also said they found nothing strong enough to signal

Gee, another official "study" debunked. How many does this make? All of them?
Do what you want. Enjoy life. Ignore studies.

I really wish these people would keep their research to themselves. Now a bunch of salad eaters are going to start buying my rib eyes and they are already too expensive as it is. I'll have to start rotating in more of the tri-tip and chuck (especially the slow cooker pot roast) to make up for the rib eye shortage. I like pork on the grill but it can't compare to rib eyes or even new york steaks.

Unbelievable. Decades of hectoring debunked in one article. Every single medical conclusion about diet has made a 180 degree reversal within my life span. Butter bad; margarine good. Eat lots of fruits and grains. Cut down on fats if you want to lose weight!
Here's the real truth: They don't know. They just pretend they know.

Good news! Somebody went thru all that paperwork to keep the medicos off out backs. But hey- what is scary is that the nanny state NHS in Britain recommend only 70 grams of red meat a day - that is like half-a-hamburger. What a crock!

As my beloved Mom used to say: Take your B-complex vitamins; try to eat some red meat... it has trace minerals and elements that you can't get --as easily-- from any other source; drink orange juice or eat an orange every day; eat butter, not margarine; drink whole milk, not skim. Use your head. Take all these Forbidden Foods stories "with a grain of salt."

How they eat and cook in the UK is nothing like here. Notice since the government has gotten involved in our food, we are sicker than ever? If I am dying tomorrow, I am having ice cream today. Back away. You are in my three feet of personal space.

It's settled now. You're not going to die from eating red meat. How disappointing for the idiots, especially those climate cooling/warming/changing (take your pick) ones.

If I had listened to them I would be really mad right now. "Academics" are quickly losing credibility in all arenas. I think that most of the hypertension and anti-cholesterol drugs are also a bunch of bunk. Highly profitable but bunk designed for couch potatoes.

Poor Greta Thunberg. Her childhood destroyed by the adults and worries, and she hasn't even experienced a good steak or burger yet. All that sacrifice for nothing.

Never believed it to begin with. Recently purchased a half a cow from a friend who raises them, the freezer is full of fresh, antibiotic free beef (and some bones). Bone broth made in in my instant pot is delicious and very nutritious, one of the latest health crazes as a matter of fact. Do these people ever think? If beef is cancerous, how can beef bone broth be a "super food"?

America is sicker and fatter than ever? Why is that? We have an obesity crisis even with kids. And it is resulting in skyrocketing medical costs that which can afford. So whatever we are doing collectively, we are doing wrong. I doubt more meat is the answer as we consume more than ever.
Epidemiology studies show that rural populations that don't have access to alot of meat ( and a lot of process junk) have much lower rates of cancer and heart disease.
But I have a challenge. There is irrefutable and demonstrable evidence that a whole food plant based diet can reverse heart disease. Medicare even now pays for WFPB programs after reviewing years of studies. (i hate the term vegan and vegetarian as they can be just as unhealthy as anyone)
From Cleveland Clinic ranked No. 1 US hospital for cardiology, heart surgery

Meant to say can anyone cite a meat based plan that can be proven with accredited research to reverse heart disease.

I don’t need a scientist to tell me I can eat meat. God gave me that meat-eating gene.
