The family of a sixth-grade girl who accused three white boys at her private Christian school in Virginia of forcibly cutting her dreadlocks last week said Monday that the allegations were false. In separate statements released by Immanuel Christian School, where Vice President Mike Pence’s wife Karen Pence teaches art, head of school Stephen Danish and the family of 12-year-old Amari Allen said the widely reported incident was fabricated.(Snip) The girl, who is black, accused three unnamed white boys of pinning her down, covering her mouth, and cutting some of her dreadlocks while calling them “ugly” and “nappy,”

I'd love to see a study that examines every known high profile incident that fits the white supremacist on black crime to determine the proportion that have been proven to have been false. That should be the default assumption on the veracity of future claims, not guiltily before proven innocent. How about any real victims of crimes that fit the "hoax" profile? How unfair is it for those who have cried "wolf" to cause undue doubt to be cast your way.

Dollars to donuts that the incident really happened, but the white people all ganged up and promised to do even worse if she didn’t say she lied the first time. (S).

The media sure is good at getting the story out before the facts are known.

Here's an original post here from about 2 weeks ago. Most of us weren't fooled.

The Head of School, Danish, sounds like an idiot. Falsely charging someone with a hate crime is JUST as serious as people who commit hate crimes. Such false accusations can ruin lives.
"the school was “not immune” from society’s “deep racial wounds.” What the heck does that mean? And "that the love of God is for all people, and as His children we should demonstrate that love equally to all people regardless of their background, what they believe, or how they behave."? Psychobabble. If there had been a REAL hate crime I'll bet they wouldn't be talking about "healing".

The picture I saw of her she had plenty of dreadlocks on her head so how many did she claim the mythical boys cut off?

Was there anyone here who didn't think this was a lie? BTW...Over the week-end, in South Seattle, someone sprayed painted KKK on several trees. Down the block from the trees is a family, White parents but 5 or 6 adopted African-American children. My son and I have a bet, he thinks the parents did it, I think one of the kids.

And what is going to happen to the girl -- nothing. Will she be suspended, probably not. Will she be required to make a public apology - probably not. Just same same BS -- blacks can cry racism falsly and nothing happens to them.

As soon as we saw the story it was clear that it was another lie. How did we know? Because white people don't engage in this type of activity. I can't imagine touching what they say passes for hair! Just telling the truth. Sorry if you don't like the truth.

“ We understand there will be consequences, and we’re prepared to take responsibility for them.”
So, as her parents, what consequences are YOU going to enforce on her?

Oh this story makes me so mad!! Why you may ask? Because this hits so close to home!
25 years ago (in October 1993) my son was in 5th grade and a black kid from his grade school claimed a group of white boys jumped him and beat him up in one of the bathrooms. The boys who were accused were a group of white 5th and 6th graders who were stars of their different classes - made up of straight A students, soccer players, Cub Scouts, members of the band and regular church goers - all good kids. I knew almost every kid involved. The victim was on-again, off again in trouble and his witnesses to back up his story were the school bullies who had been suspended multiple times. Didn’t matter. The alleged “perps” were arrested and spent the night in jail (Juvie.) The event made the national news. There was a terribly intense community meeting with so many angry people not from our neighborhood hurling accusations that weren’t true. A year later the “crime” made it to trial where it was dismissed - the “witnesses” all recanted and the victim admitted under oath that he sometimes told “stories” to get out of school (“but not this time!”). The parents spent thousands of dollars defending their innocent sons. My son’s best friend was named as one of the alleged perpetrators and to this day won’t talk about what happened the night he spent in jail. He was 11 years old. False accusations have terrible real-life consequences. I can’t even imagine what the families of the boys named this weekend have had to endure. This is so traumatic for them. Awful!
