Donald Trump on Monday upped the ante against House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff, saying he should be arrested for 'treason' because the congressman read a parody version of the phone call between the president and his Ukrainian counterpart.'Rep. Adam Schiff illegally made up a FAKE & terrible statement, pretended it to be mine as the most important part of my call to the Ukrainian President, and read it aloud to Congress and the American people. It bore NO relationship to what I said on the call. Arrest for Treason?,' the president wrote. Schiff, who's taken the lead for Democrats in the impeachment inquiry, became a target of Trump's wrath after

Fake news. President Trump cannot arrest anyone. He said that Schiff SHOULD be arrested. I agree, but I can't arrest Schiff either. Someone with the authority to arrest and indict Schiff would do us all a favor!

His antics do not rise the the constitutional definition of treason. Although the watching the left lose its mind is amusing.

The left plays into Trumps hands frequently. But this just plays into theirs. Schiff deserves to be censured and unelected, but what he did is not treason. Heaping ridicule on Schiff would be so much more effective.

The Bull Schiff "parody" reading should be stricken from the official record, as a good first step.

The President can't have the crapweasel , Schiff, arrested but maybe some Republicans should step up and defend the committee and rules of the committee then struck from the record. Censure the pencil neck geek buffoon!

He should definitely be censured by a vote of the House.

People accused of wrongdoing often want to fight back in the press and any other forum available. Their lawyers will always tell them this is a bad idea. Having spent my entire career in law, and having run for important office, I agree. The President needs to allow his team to pursue a consistent and principled strategy that will contrast with the hyper-partisan and frenzied chaos taking place on he left. He does himself no favors by extravagant venting about treason, crimes and civil war, which make him sound ignorant and unhinged. He has a respectable legal and political case on several levels. His statements should reflect assurance and calm. His base does him no favors by encouraging and repeating provocative threats and predictions.

Schiff did push the envelope way to far with his "parody" hahahaha on Trumps conversation with the Ukraine. If this is part of the House records, he should be impeached. No excuse for a blunderbuss as Schiff. Imagine him of the sinking Titanic.

Unfortunately, a member of Congress could threaten to murder the guy who sits next to him and since it happened on the floor while Congress was in session he can't be charged.

I heard recording of Schiff reading that script earlier today - Rush, I think - but how many people heard the same words earlier when he first said them - before Schiff was exposed for his lies and claimed he was only doing a parody? This has got to be an illegal act: I would guess Schiff is a lawyer, and he is slandering our President by putting words into his mouth that he never said. Wasn't that a deliberate malicious act. If that kind of illegality can be done - without punishment - to a prominent person like The President, then what can be allowed to be done to the little people? Our justice system has evolved into some kind of a very bad joke.

Forgive the second post. Statements made on the floor or in the committees of Congress are privileged. The law of defamation is inapplicable.

Republican members of "The Committee" ought to have objected, demanded that the "Words be taken down", that the fabulist... --okay, the LIAR-- be censured. Then they should have the official record of the hearing be expunged or otherwise noted as to the lying liar's "parody."
