Mitt Romney is not particularly impressed with the idea of Herman Cain joining the Federal Reserve, though President Donald Trump is pushing forward on the possible nomination. In an interview, the Utah Republican senator brushed off the prospect of Trump following through and officially nominating Cain: “I doubt that will be a nomination. But if it were a nomination, you can bet [what] the interest rates he would be pushing for.”

Many Democrats may not view what’s occurring at the southern border as a crisis, as President Donald Trump and his administration absolutely do and have stressed repeatedly — but they won’t be able to deny the facts after the commander-in-chief makes a visit to the border in California on Friday, as currently scheduled. Speaking Thursday morning on Fox News Channel’s “Fox and Friends,” press secretary Sarah Sanders said about Trump’s upcoming visit, “The president wants to show the progress that we’ve made on the border wall. There’s a section there that has been finished and he wants to be able to see

The number of Americans filing applications for unemployment benefits dropped to a more than 49-year low last week, pointing to sustained labor market strength despite slowing economic growth.Initial claims for state unemployment benefits declined 10,000 to a seasonally adjusted 202,000 for the week ended March 30, the lowest level since early December 1969, the Labor Department said on Thursday. Chicago´s new mayor, Lori Lightfoot, hasn´t even been sworn in yet, and she already has a top priority: figuring out exactly what is going on in Cook County Prosecutor Kim Foxx´s office. Lightfoot, who won Chicago´s mayoral election by a near-50 point margin on Tuesday, is the city´s first black female (and first openly gay) mayor. She campaigned largely as an outsider to the Chicago machine. Lightfoot is, herself, a former Assistant U.S. Attorney, who served at the head of Chicago´s Police Board and Police Accountability Board after leaving legal practice for public service.

Why did the Deep State throw caution to the winds in an desperate effort to frame Donald Trump for alleged collusion with Russia--and failing that, to entrap him in an obstruction of justice case? There are a lot reasons for the Establishment to hate Donald Trump, but one of them stands out. During the campaign, Donald Trump denounced the Obama administration for having created ISIS. That claim drew ridicule from the mainstream media, but it is entirely correct. Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn, Trump´s campaign adviser, was head of Defense Intelligence Agency in 2012 when the DIA blew the whistle

What part of “Congress shall make no law” does House Oversight Chairman Elijah Cummings not understand? The Maryland Democrat, suddenly handed the investigative and subpoena powers of the House, must think there isn’t enough executive branch misconduct to investigate. Lachlan had personally overseen the design of the 140-foot sloop — named Sarissa after a long and especially dangerous spear used by the armies of ancient Macedonia — ensuring that it would be suitable for family vacations while also remaining competitive in superyacht regattas. The cockpit could be transformed into a swimming pool.

Each year, state lawmakers across the U.S. introduce thousands of bills dreamed up and written by corporations, industry groups and think tanks. Disguised as the work of lawmakers, these so-called “model” bills get copied in one state Capitol after another, quietly advancing the agenda of the people who write them. A two-year investigation by USA TODAY, The Arizona Republic? and the Center for Public Integrity reveals for the first time the extent to which special interests have infiltrated state legislatures using model legislation. USA TODAY and the Republic found at least 10,000 bills almost entirely copied from model legislation were introduced nationwide in

In the politically charged environment powered by the Trump White House, Fox News Channel’s role in public discourse is more polarizing than ever. Even an error in an on-screen graphic can spark critics to charge the network with misinforming, propagandizing or serving as state TV. But after 23 years at the network, Fox News Chief Executive Suzanne Scott has learned how to shut out the noise surrounding her — no easy feat when the channel’s No. 1 fan, President Trump, is watching for policy advice and emotional sustenance. “Of course people are going to pay attention to what we’re doing,”

Special counsel Robert Mueller had become something of a messiah figure to the Trump haters. Like a god, he was remote, white-haired and reputed to work miracles. But Mueller ultimately disappointed his worshipers, establishing none of the Russian collusion they had been banking on to bolster their efforts to overturn the 2016 election. The Russian collusion story had been an article of faith for the Resistance and the press. But why were so many people so deeply convinced of something that was not true? Who was behind not only concocting this fantastic tale but also embedding it in the

President Trump’s MAGAnomic policies are tailored to raise the income levels of all Americans; however, to the anxiety of his political opposition, the focus for greatest economic benefit is the middle-class, blue-collar and white-collar workers. In essence, the demographic hardest hit by 30 years of bad policy is the demographic receiving the largest gains from a return to Main Street, ‘America-First’ policy. It is not really a complex dynamic to understand. Predictably the leftist and highly partisan Mueller Team, in close coordination with Lawfare and their media allies, start trying to shape a narrative. Because of unprecedented abuse of Senate rules, two-and-a-half years into his presidency, President Trump has not been able to put all of his own qualified, confirmable appointees into senior-level positions. This obstructionism has allowed Obama administration holdovers to obstruct and sabotage implementation of his policies (and to leak to the media). Senate Democrats have cynically exploited the Senate rules allowing 30 hours of debate of each appointee to slow down the staffing of his administration. Finally, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell yesterday pushed through a majority-vote measure that changes those rules, limiting debate to two hours per appointment.

It is uproariously entertaining to see the scurryings of the innumerable host of Democratic presidential candidates in what is already more of a lottery than a quest for the nomination of a great party to the world’s greatest office. The Gadarene stampede to (and over) the edge of the abyss of all who advocate open borders, 70 percent income taxes, the green terror, socialized medicine, legalized infanticide, reparations to native and African-Americans, packing the Supreme Court, and vacation of the Electoral College, has finally elicited, in a Churchillian expression, a tiny mouse of dissent.

The abortion industry has had a rough couple of weeks. In addition to the commercial success of the pro-life film, Unplanned, the Georgia legislature just joined the growing number of states to pass bills prohibiting abortions after a fetal heartbeat can be detected. Predictably, the film and the legislation have been denounced by baby part purveyor Planned Parenthood, its bought-and-paid-for stooges in Washington, and the legacy media as another offensive in the “war on women.” The irony of that charge is that legendary feminists like Susan B. The transformation of the GOP into the party of Patrick J. Buchanan and Donald J. Trump—defined by cultural resentments, crude populism, and ethnic nationalism—is among the most important political stories of this century. But the GOP is hardly the only party that is undergoing some alarming tectonic shifts. Liberals wondering why conservatives who worry about Trump don’t join the Democrats should consider what is happening on their own side of the aisle. The best defense, the saying goes, is a good offense. The key orchestrators of the Big Trump-Russia Collusion Lie seem to have hewed tightly to that tactical advice. Over the past two years, one of their biggest “tells” has been their hyper-aggressive and gratuitous attacks on the president. Given that special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation found no collusion or obstruction of justice, their constant broadsides now look, in retrospect, like calculated pre-emptive strikes to deflect attention and culpability away from themselves. By accusing Mr. Trump of what they themselves were guilty of, they created a masterful distraction through projection.

How is Al Sharpton — the Jussie Smollett of civil rights — still a kingmaker? This week, nearly every single Democratic candidate for president — save the otherwise-distracted Joe Biden — has or will appear at Sharpton’s annual convention for his National Action Network, which he calls a charity. A more rational observer might call it a personal piggybank funded by shakedowns. This is a man who, as The Post exclusively reported in December, sold the rights to his life story to his own “nonprofit,” paying himself $531,000 — on top of his $244,661 salary to run NAN in 2017.

Senate Republicans used the “nuclear option” Wednesday to unilaterally reduce debate time on most presidential nominees, the latest in a series of changes to the fabric of the Senate to dilute the power of the minority. The move by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) immediately paves the way to expedite confirmations of President Donald Trump’s judicial and executive branch picks and comes amid deep GOP frustration with Democrats’ delays.
