The Erasure of Mother and Father in New York

Original Article

The first words out of my son’s mouth were “Mom” and “Dad,” words that capture the beautiful, natural reality of human life and family. Yet New York’s Democrat-controlled legislature has passed a bill that seeks to erase these foundational terms from state law, replacing “mother” with the clinical “gestating parent” and “father” with the soulless “non-gestating parent.” “Paternity” becomes “parentage,” and “putative father” yields to “alleged parent.” This Orwellian rewrite now sits on Governor Kathy Hochul’s desk.[snip]Mothers gestate and give birth; fathers provide the other half of the biological equation.

We didn't pay enough attention to PIAPS when she said "It Takes A Village".
Watching the Chinese kids performing when Trump visited China a while back was frightening. Same in Nazi Germany

Why identify a female as a 'gestating person' when in some realities females are unable to procreate, or had a child who did not live, choose not to procreate or choose the alter of abortion. This labelling is not inclusive.

Erasure - that is it! Not even moving over to accommodate the new extreme minority terms. Replacing them entirely, there is not even a nod toward normalcy. Normal is a derogatory place setting.

Instead of "putative parent" and "alleged" parent, wht not be technically accurate and say sperm donor? Interesting that they used "putative" parent. I think I once saw a legal case involving a "putative wife," the term being casually explained as " whore wife." NY may be taking into account that so many babies are born to single women. In Spanish, the word translates closely

This parental concept is easy to accept when one believes that everything, even our children, belongs to the state.

When our children were still in school whenever I had to sign some kind of school form the line where you'd put your signature, under that would be...parent/guardian. I always crossed out the guardian word. I wonder if a New York parent, if they cross out the stupid new words for mom or dad and sign mother or father will be arrested for a hate crime.

Since real parenthood is disappearing, I prefer the non-gender terms sperm donor and egg donor. Being a parent is more than the five seconds, and giving birth. Many (if not most) don’t like the hard work that follows.

This is actually a Huxleyan rewrite rather than Orwellian. In "Brave New World" children are gestated in vitro all the way up to hatching. "Mother" was actually a shocking, semi-dirty word. That seems to be right where New York is heading.

New York State and New York City are officially in a death spiral. And it's what happens in one party towns. Hey, I don't blame this on dumocrats, they be grabbin' with both hands. I blame it on our non-existent, feckless, cowardice republican party, what's left of it. Nixon's son-in-law is the idiot chair of an already declining republican party. He's putting the last nail in the coffin of the party, along with the state and city. The party is so corrupt that it is almost impossible to try to get new leadership. Kudos to Bruce Blakeman for running for governor and trying to do something about the corruption and the socialism that is metastasizing in the state. But he's petty much on his own. Disgusting.

This is only going to fly with the blue haired potentially gestating persons if a non-gestating beta person will actually touch Xir. Any SANE person who has borne or sired a child anxiously waits to be called mom or dad. What are we supposed to call the child? A non-registered democrat voter? The mother and fathers day cards should be hysterical.

On her final day as director of national intelligence Friday, Tulsi Gabbard released damning declassified evidence accusing Dr. Anthony Fauci of causing the COVID-19 pandemic, engaging in a cover-up about the virus’s origins in China and lying to Congress about it.
