Young Armed Robbers Target Boston Lemonade Stand

Massachusetts' restrictive gun control laws failed to stop a violent felon from illegally arming himself and opening fire on a busy Cambridge thoroughfare last month, and now the state's draconian gun laws have once again had a high-profile failure after a pair of juveniles held up a lemonade stand in south Boston run by a pair of youngsters. [snip] The police put out a public call Thursday afternoon for information that could lead them to two “unknown” boys, one of whom “displayed a black firearm in his waistband” before the pair grabbed the cash

Comments:

With a better education, the two unknown boys would know that Mass has restrictive gun laws and they shouldn't be carrying while holding up lemonade stands.

I was jumped 4 times before the age of 16. The streets aren't safe folks. Three of the attacks occurred while delivering newspapers. After the third time, I delivered newspapers and was armed. First with a knife and after that my parents bought me mace to carry on myself. The third time left me with a bloody nose and broken glasses. After the third attack, my dad would go on the delivery route with me. That lasted for a couple of years until I felt I could take care of myself. I developed eyes in the back of my head. I was always on the lookout for thugs. I learned to avoid them. I always avoided fights. I didn't want to hurt anyone. I knew I could. The fourth attack was the scariest. A 20 year old grabbed me off my bike. I was unarmed at the time. If I had been, I would have used it. I yelled for help and it was a very busy street. The attacker had second thoughts and left. The sad thing with all these attackers is their actions will eventually get them killed (by someone that never meant them harm) or locked up. These idiots never think their actions through before acting. There are consequences. More than anything I feel sorry for their victims. They are traumatized. They may have hurt or killed someone when they defended themselves against an attacker.

Convicted killer Karmelo Anthony has claimed he’s “penniless” and can’t afford a lawyer for his appeal — despite his family collecting $625,000 in crowdfunding for his legal defense and “living expenses,” according to a report. Anthony, 19, made the assertion in a notice of appeal filed after he was found guilty of fatally stabbing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf and sentenced to 35 years behind bars, according to a report by ABC WFAA. Anthony — who was moved to a Texas state prison Wednesday — is “penniless, destitute, and indigent person, too poor to employ counsel to represent me on the appeal,” reads the appeal form.

FBI Director Kash Patel announced Wednesday that Said Abdullahi Ereg, a former Minneapolis grocery and deli owner, had surrendered to federal authorities, marking the first person on the FBI’s new "Most Wanted Fraudsters" list to be taken into custody as federal authorities continue a nationwide fraud crackdown. Said Abdullahi Ereg, 47, faces charges including conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud and money laundering. The FBI said Ereg, a former south Minneapolis grocery and deli owner, surrendered to federal authorities less than a week after the Justice Department unveiled its "Most Wanted Fraudsters" list, which is intended to publicly identify individuals charged in major fraud cases.

The “sweetest” elderly Mississippi couple were allegedly killed by a teenage burglar who then shot at cops during a six-hour standoff while barricaded in the house, according to authorities. Billy Blair, 74, and his wife, Virginia Carol Blair, 71, were killed after 17-year-old Cordarius Hobbs broke into their home last Wednesday, WLBT reported. Hobbs has since been charged with capital murder. Cops swooped on the Mendenhall home just after noon for a welfare check after worried relatives couldn’t make contact — but they encountered gunfire upon their arrival. The burglary was already taking place when police arrived and the front door was open.

Mere hours after the GiveSendGo fund supporting Karmelo Anthony was “unpublished,” activists supporting the teen murderer launched a petition calling for the arrest of Austin Metcalf’s brother, Hunter. The petition, which as of this writing still has fewer than 50 signatures, charges Hunter Metcalf with contributing to his brother’s death by “allegedly assaulting” Anthony. “As a member of the Black community in America, the ongoing injustices we face daily have reached a tipping point,” the petition reads. “Our community is fed up with the perpetual cycle of violence and discrimination that remains unchecked by a justice system that too often turns a blind eye to our plight.

Karmelo Anthony sobbed Tuesday as he was swiftly convicted of murder in the fatal stabbing of fellow high-school jock Austin Metcalf at a track meet — and his furious supporters raged, “This whole thing’s been racist!” The jury in Collin County deliberated about three hours before finding Anthony, 19, guilty of first-degree murder in the death of the 17-year-old and must now decide whether to put him away for life — prompting the killer’s weeping mom to later take the witness stand and beg for mercy for her son, according to a report by NBC DFW. “He’s my oldest. House Democrats spent years selling Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) as the competent, sensible Midwesterner the party needed. A bombshell House Oversight Committee report released Monday tells a different story. The report, titled "The Cost of Doing Nothing: How Tim Walz and Keith Ellison Fueled Minnesota's Fraud Explosion," concludes that Walz and Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison were aware of credible, systemic fraud in federally funded social programs as early as 2019 and did nothing. Their reasons for inaction weren't legal barriers. They were fear of lawsuits, fear of being called racist, and fear of upsetting the politically active Somali community in Minneapolis, a constituency both men depend on politically.

The bottom of the box office barrel for Star Wars is unquestionably Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018), which petered out with a $214 million domestic gross and a $179 million overseas gross, for a global total of $393 million. That’s catastrophic math for any blockbuster. For a Star Wars movie, it revealed a major disturbance in the force, and that disturbance went by the name of Kathleen “The Force Is Female” Kennedy. Remember, Solo is a movie that told fans that the legendary Lando Calrissian would be revealed as a robot-humping “pansexual.” I don’t know what a pansexual is. If you ask, many Americans will tell you that one of the things they hate most about "the swamp," Washington, D.C., is the fact that once a congressman or senator gets elected, pulling them out of said swamp is next to impossible, and the result is geriatric lawmakers being wheeled around in wheelchairs. It's certainly not what the Founding Fathers intended. Now, one House member may have the answer to this dilemma. Republican Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) has introduced a bill that would end both pay and power for House and Senate members who have reached 12 years of service in their respective legislative bodies.

The law, passed two years ago by state legislators, now requires children under 13 who are considered delinquent, or who have broken a state law, be redirected to social services. The Minnesota Association of County Social Service Administrators (MACSSA) represents social service staff across the state's 87 counties and is asking the state to step in and make changes to the law.
