Karmelo Anthony sobbed Tuesday as he was swiftly convicted of murder in the fatal stabbing of fellow high-school jock Austin Metcalf at a track meet — and his furious supporters raged, “This whole thing’s been racist!”
The jury in Collin County deliberated about three hours before finding Anthony, 19, guilty of first-degree murder in the death of the 17-year-old and must now decide whether to put him away for life — prompting the killer’s weeping mom to later take the witness stand and beg for mercy for her son, according to a report by NBC DFW.
“He’s my oldest. He’ll always be my baby.

Well your 'baby' brought a huge knife to a sporting event then stabbed a teenager to death. I suppose he was just turning his life around, but the jury had no sympathy.

When all else fails, throw that tired, torn, tattered racist card.

Hey weepy mom, how much mercy did your wretched son give his murder victim?
What a horrible family, profiting off their son being a murderer. It would be further justice to see the Metcalf family file a wrongful death suit to separate these grifters from the rest of their ill gotten gains.

Looks like they were being gaslighted and lied to into thinking he was actually innocent.

Mamma, where did the kid get the knife?
Who taught him to be respectful of other people?
Why did the kid chose to put a knife in his backpack?
Of course, the jury should have mercy because the kid only killed one person, right?

By what reasoning do all those protesting the jury's decision think it's racist? I'm serious. Other than he's black, what other reason do they have to protest? He did it. What he did is in full view of anyone seeing the pictures. The reason for the knife was never explained. If he was upset at being pushed, just push back. This is such a sad story for both families.

The Metcalf family should file a civil suit to claim all the proceeds the Anthony family is making off their son's murder.

Sentnced to only 35 years = could be up for parole in half that. Not justice.

The article says a fight broke out. There was no fight, just a stabbing.

Good! I hope Austin's ghost haunts him every second he's in prison! Now watch the 'Reverend' Alexander jump to the cameras to call for unrest.

I would like to know how many of these protesters will visit him every weekend, send him money whenever he calls for it.

I'm sorry that this murderer only got 35 years. At least 50 would have been more like it.

Anthony's supporters provide ample reasoning to validate the feelings of the people who despise Blacks!

Raised in a culture where you settle disputes with violence.
He is shocked to find out that others think his actions were violent, especially since his victim was unarmed.
It was more about being "dissed" by a another guy then it was about self defense.
He just learned the hard way that actions have consequences.
His first night in prison is going to be hell on earth.
I pray that he learns from this and that his siblings don't go down the same path.

He's a spoiled brat thug. If the little worm-haired dweeb had managed to check his ego for a few minutes and left the tent in which he didn't belong, he would be facing the TV today instead of 35 years where some other punk will probably stab him to show him what it feels like.

Prayers for Austin Metcalf and his family who will have to try and live with this evil act by someone who was probably indoctrinated by his parents and the media (you cannot despise them enough) to see all whites as racist murderers. Any online funding sites should stop any payments to the family and hold that money in trust while the Metcalfs sue the parents of Anthony Karmelo for wrongful death. I would hope that all platforms would take down any funding to those convicted of heinous crimes.

Where else in the United States, within the suburban fringe of a metropolitan statistical area of around 8.4 million people, with its large urban core where white people are in the minority, would Anthony's case have even come to trial, much less concluded with a guilty verdict and a 35 year sentence?
