Time to get rid of the FACE Act already

In 1994, Democrats tried to undermine pro-life Republicans by passing the original FACE Act. In the beginning, the law was intended to protect those who visited medical facilities from intimidation, harassment, violence, threats of force, and other illegal actions. Over the years, the Democrats have watered down and abused the law, applying it primarily to pro-life demonstrators and rarely, if ever, to pro-abortion demonstrators. In April, a report was issued by the Weaponization Working Group, which confirmed that the FACE Act had been used to weaponize the Justice Department against pro-life groups: The report accuses the Justice Department and FBI under former

The Horns of Hormuz 5 replies

The bombshell dropped. Donald Trump announced that Operation Freedom, an effort to guide ships out of the Strait of Hormuz, will begin on Monday morning, Middle East time. According to Trump, the operation will be centered on helping the vessels leave the Persian Gulf, in response to countries asking "the United States if we could help free up their Ships, which are locked up in the Strait." It sounds innocuous enough. In fact, Trump cast it as a “humanitarian operation,” but one that is obviously protected by sharp teeth. In a subsequent social media post on X, CENTCOM elaborated on the mission, which has obviously been studied and prepared for

Is Islam good for you? Is it actually beneficial for individuals and societies? These questions have seldom, if ever, been asked. Most people in America today, having been the unwitting victims of a quarter-century of propaganda, assume that Islam, like all other religions, is peaceful and benign, beneficial to both individuals and societies, albeit “hijacked” at the hands of a “tiny minority of extremists,” the likes of which we see in all religious traditions. Yet the constant drumbeat continues: there are jihad attacks around the world virtually every day, and increasingly in the United States. All of their perpetrators insist they acted in accord with Islamic teachings. There is a distressingly

The MSM, radical left Democrats, and progressives like Hillary Clinton, spout that we are experiencing an 'existential threat to democracy.' For example, Dr. Steven Levitsky and Lucan A. Way wrote, "U.S. democracy will likely break down during the Second Trump administration in the sense that it will cease to meet standard criteria for a liberal democracy -- full adult suffrage, free and fair elections, and broad protection of civil liberties." Hillary says, "Our democracy is in crisis..." Her claim sounds ominous, worthy of further investigation. Demosthenes (384 BC -- 322 BC) was a Greek statesman of ancient Athens, was a staunch defender of Athenian democracy. He also saw how democracy

This week the Supreme Court, in an opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito, ended decades of race-engineering in the drawing of congressional districts. The opinion is likely to not only benefit Republicans by increasing their representation in Congress, it also should end racial engineering in a multitude of local institutions, all to everyone’s benefit. It signals the beginning of the end for progressive governance, begun by President Woodrow Wilson (ironically a segregationist) whose vision conflicts with the Constitution. Thirty-one years ago, Justice Clarence Thomas argued that racial gerrymandering -- defended as a means for ensuring proportional electoral results according to race -- should not continue. In my view, our current practice

Graham Platner is a piece of work. You know, yesterday when I wrote about Janet Mills dropping out, I included a Xweet from someone talking about the oppo research on this clown being a possible goldmine. It hasn't taken 24 hours for the gruesome deluge to start about what a miserable fabulist this hairy beast is. One thing that caught my eye, being a veteran and having a disabled veteran for a spouse (31 years of Marine Corps wear and tear, but no war wounds, thank God), was Platner's service claims. His DD-214 has debunked the man's sea stories about being in for ten years, but I hadn't

Leading the week’s news was the Democrats’ third failed assassination attempt against President Trump. Murder isn’t funny, but that didn’t prevent meme-makers from weighing in. The rest of the week’s news was lighter: King Charles visited America and addressed Congress, and it turned out that Democrats love kings after all. James Comey was indicted, the SPLC continued to draw fire, and Ilhan Omar displayed a remarkable grasp of world history. So here we go–The Week In Pictures, Missed Me Again Edition. This week features three pirate-related memes, which must be a record. Watch for them:
“Diversity” Is Our Weakness 8 replies
Posted by Hazymac 5/2/2026 5:59:17 AM Post Reply
The shibboleth that “diversity is our strength” is one of the worst canards of our time. There is a great deal of empirical data indicating that in general, cultural diversity is a weakness, not a strength. Culturally diverse societies (which can mean ethnically diverse, but doesn’t have to) are generally lower-trust societies, which inhibits economic growth. Western Europe is living proof of that proposition. But there is another way in which “diversity” in the DEI sense–i.e., the jerry-rigged quotas resulting from an obsession with race, sex, and sexual orientation–is bad. Maximum effectiveness, in terms of economic efficiency, combat readiness, or pretty much anything you want to measure,

Mahmoud Khalil's case is, as Dan Linnaeus explains in the X post linked below, something of a dividing line in how people think about citizenship, the right to stay in a Western country, the limits of tolerance we must have for hatred from noncitizens, and most of all over whether we should see non-Westerners as everywhere and always victims, and Westerners as oppressors who deserve whatever we get. The American left is appalled that Khalil is being deported for his arguably illegal, and certainly anti-American and antisemitic "activist" activities while a student at Columbia University. He helped organize and lead protests that led to assaults, property damage,

These days, to paraphrase Mark Twain's observation about the weather, everyone complains about extreme rhetoric and political violence, but no one does much about it. No one, perhaps, except Harmeet Dhillon. At a recent anti-ICE rally in Minneapolis, Turning Point USA observer/reporter Savanah Hernandez got assaulted by activists for recording the public events. Minneapolis police identified the trio that assaulted Hernandez as members of the Ostroushko family – father Christopher, mother Deyanna, and adult daughter Paige. The video depicts Christopher Ostroushko blindsiding Hernandez, who was injured in the attack. Do you ever wonder why so many Blue states refuse to hand over their voter rolls to the federal government? After all, there is a federal law that requires certain measures to ensure ballot integrity, passed in the wake of the 2000 Florida debacle. It requires, among other things, that states clean their voter rolls of ineligible voters. But these states refuse to do that, and they refuse to show that they aren't breaking federal law. Of course, every sentient person knows exactly why they do both of those things: they cheat, and want to make it as hard as possible to detect the cheating, and almost impossible to audit elections

The White House said the appointment was scheduled and routine, telling the press pool Trump had "a scheduled dental appointment at his local dentist in Florida." But the visit, which was not on the president's public schedule, has drawn questions from doctors, journalists, and political commentators on social media

The body with power to set rent adjustments for the city’s 1 million rent-stabilized units will hold four public hearings in June before voting on increases at its June 25 meeting.
The Real Reason Why Barack Obama Condemned
the Supreme Court’s Racial Redistricting Ruling

Barack Obama is a real piece of work. Seriously, he has no shame. One week after the former president successfully gaslit a small majority of Virginians into voting for a redistricting initiative that got rid of the state’s two majority-minority congressional districts, he has the gall to condemn the Supreme Court’s ruling against the practice of redistricting along racial lines. He doesn’t really care about giving black voters better representation—he cares about the Democrats’ grasp for raw, naked political power, by any means necessary. While the Constitution generally prohibits sorting citizens based on race, lower courts have long interpreted the Voting Rights Act of 1965 as effectively mandating redistricting along racial lines.

If the title of this column seems to exaggerate the potential impact of last week’s Supreme Court ruling in Louisiana v. Callais, it’s probably because most political pundits have focused on its effect below the Mason-Dixon Line. But the majority-minority congressional districts that will need to be altered pursuant to the Court’s ruling are far more pervasive than most realize. Ballotpedia, using data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2024 American Community Survey, estimates that these racially gerrymandered districts account for 148 seats in the House of Representatives. This is about one third of the House’s 435 districts.
