The potential appointment of Mojtaba Khamenei is proving what Israel has long known: It has no intention of ever abandoning its destructive doctrine: Death to America, and death to Israel. Mojtaba Khamenei, the second-eldest son of former Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei, is reportedly set to succeed his slain father as Iran’s next supreme leader, as the Islamic Republic moves to preserve continuity while battling Israel and the United States. He has long been considered his father’s chosen heir apparent. He is reported to have formed close ties with the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) and is thought to have gained increasing control over the regime’s decision-making

And yet again I ask, what did you think was going to happen? Iran is a country founded and run by religious zealots. And killing their head cleric didn't make them quiver in fear and plead for peace, it only made him a martyr and hardened their resolve. Did you really think the great unwashed masses of Iran would storm the streets yearning for freedom? How many times do we have to learn this same lesson? The Middle East is a quagmire we have no business playing in. They don't want democracy, they don't want freedom, they don't want us. 90% of this benighted country hate our guts.

"The Middle East is a quagmire we have no business playing in" So, #1, would you have this crazy regime acquiring nuclear weapons? These mullahs are crazy; they would definitely use them against Israel. Then Israel is going to respond in kind. Then the Russians and Chinese are going to join in with Iran, and the US with Israel, and pretty soon we are in WWIII. Iran doesn't care if the world is destroyed, as long as the "infidels" are destroyed and they get their 72 virgins promised to them by Allah. These people possess 21st century weapons with a 6th century mentality.

#3 and what is your solution? Seriously. What will fix this problem that is feasible? And I don't mean "nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure." THAT is not reasonable nor feasible. I get so tired of "DO SOMETHING!" but those screaming it a) have no idea what will solve the problem because they don't understand the situation on the ground and then b) start lobbing bombs. Give me a real solution to this problem that the USA can solve. We spent how long in Afghanistan and Iraq and what did we get? Obviously killing their leaders is pointless as new ones will just pop up even nastier and angrier than the last.

DJT demands unconditional surrender..but there is no leader to surrender the county. The mullahcrats run the clerical side…and are opposed to Nepo babymoni as serving that function. The IRGC has share of Generals Ripper (from Dr Strangelove), only capable of pushing the button., but with fractured leadership. As I want to see Iran grow out of its 8th century mindset…Who is going to surrender?

#1 You are completely wrong about Iran. Before the Islamist takeover in 1979, Iran had people who wanted freedom and western values. Women were prominent in government and business. They did not wear head coverings and were treated with respect. Look up pictures of pre-revolution students on university campuses, on the beach, in night clubs etc. The US under Jimmie Carter allowed the radical Islamists to oust the Shah who was suffering from cancer. We could have supported the people of Iran but Carter did nothing and we paid the price by having our embassy overrun and hostages taken and held for over 450 days. Did you not see the videos of the brave people of Iran in the streets protesting last month? They were singing songs about freedom that Reza Pahlavi the Crown Prince (son of the Shah), who is a proponant of Constitutional Democracy in Iran. He will be a great leader in the interim until Iran can pick a parliament and develop a Constitution. Pahlavi gave a fantastic speech this morning where he announced the formation of the Conservative Party . They also issued a proclamation with their policies which is fabulous. Iran has also had the greatest Christian revival in the world over the last several years. Please don't think that 90% of Iranians hate the US. This is blatantly false. Do some research and get the facts.

#6 Excuse me. I was alive during that time period and remember it well. THAT Iran is gone just as THAT Egypt is gone. The educated in both places left or were murdered. What is left is a barbarity that has reigned for 47 years. A puppet Shah, if we could even install one, would be dead in a year unless we essentially become a brutal colonial enforcer.

And not that I mean to be cruel #6. I remember seeing our Embassy staff being paraded blindfolded, the horror of 444 long days. I would like to believe that the zealotry of those who invaded our embassy and held our people hostage has been worn thin with the people they have brutalized. But I just won't hold my breath. What does the dying West hold for them? Rampant immorality, consumerism, the destruction of the family, the humiliation of men? There is a reason Islam is the fastest growing religion on Earth. Yes, I saw the thousands who rallied for freedom. And I read sadly that many have been slaughtered by the barbarous Iranian regime. I also know that there are what a half million Christian in Iran. And they will probably suffer more than most if there is a boots on the ground conflict. All this said, wars waged by secular powers against religious zealots never turn out to be as simple as people on the secular side think they should be. In my life I have watched progressive modern Islamic nations fall one after another to brutal fanatical regimes... none have come back so far.

#8 We will not need to install Reza the Crown Prince. The people of Iran support him as well as the millions who are part of the Iranian (they call themselves Persian) diaspora who have been celebrating in the streets all over the world. These people will return to their homeland in a minute if they can be part of the restoration of democracy. I guess you would rather have Iran supporting terrorism all over the world and then developing missiles that can reach the US topped with nuclear weapons instead of acting to destroy the radical Islamists and giving the normal people of Iran their country back so they can return to a normal democratic existence.

#11 Don't pull out that old "if you don't support doing things just the way I say they should happen, then you must support terrorists" trope. That is not a serious argument. I've lived long enough to be a realist. Would I love to see what you say happen? Absolutely! I'd love to see it in all the Islam majority nations have have and are succumbing to radical Islam. Do I think it will? Nope. And I don't like the idea of our treasure and blood being spilled in an endless conflict to bring about what is likely just an idealistic fantasy. If what you say is true, where are the masses of Iranians IN IRAN presently flooding the streets cheering, taking up arms, fighting for their freedom, storming buildings and installations, liberating them from this repressive regime? Obviously the regime is at it's weakest point in 47 years right now. Don't you think that if this was happening the administration would be showing us just that. Or did this attack, much of which was orchestrated by Israel which they really don't like, inflame national pride and harden the hearts of it's citizenry against their so called "liberators?" Time will tell. Again, I hope you are 100% right and Iran gains the measure of freedom she desires. But I have wished that same thing for the entire Middle East for a very long time and have yet to see any positive results.

Perhaps we forgot what it’s like when politicians act on their promises. Perhaps our enemies forgot as well. For decades, American presidents — Democratic and Republican — have said the theocratic dictatorship in Iran cannot have nuclear weapons. For decades, those same administrations were strung along by the ayatollahs. American negotiators — like their European counterparts — sat through years of negotiations. And every time, the revolutionary government in Iran got closer to the bomb. Well, not this time.

Gavin Newsom endorsed the lie Tuesday that Israel is an “apartheid” state — a damning sign of where the Democratic Party is headed, and how far it’s already sunk. At an event promoting his new book, the California governor said Israel’s critics are “appropriately” calling it an “apartheid” state — i.e., a knockoff of South Africa’s old segregationist regime. This is a lie — one so egregious that many deem it a form of antisemitism. Apartheid South Africa denied blacks the vote and forced them to endure separate hospitals, separate schools, and even separate bathrooms. Arabs, 20% of Israel’s population, vote and serve in the government and even the military; there is no segregation

The beleaguered Iranian regime, with very few international allies, has been counting on Moscow's support amid the ongoing US-Israeli strikes, but so far it has been left deeply disappointed. Just hours after Israeli and US bombs started hitting Tehran on Saturday, Russia came out with a blunt statement, with the country's permanent representative to the UN, Vassily Nebenzia, calling it an "unprovoked act of armed aggression against a sovereign and independent UN member state." Moscow is one of Tehran's few but staunchest allies, and a possible collapse of the Iranian regime could be a blow for its geopolitical and economic interests. Then why has it not come to Tehran's rescue?

A major talking point among Democrats and their media handmaidens is that President Trump launched a “war of choice” against Iran. Given American casualties and the earth-rattling impact, the criticism could be a powerful political argument in the midterm elections — if it’s true. But it’s not true. In fact, we now can be certain that the war on Iran is not a war of choice. It is instead a war of American self-defense and maybe even a war of survival for Western civilization and Israel.

Iran has yet to decide on the next leader. The joint United States and Israeli strikes on Feb. 28, 2026, did more than destroy military infrastructure. They decapitated the ideological command center of a regime that has spent four decades promising Israel’s annihilation and financing America’s enemies. The death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei marks the most consequential blow to state-sponsored terror in modern history. It revives a question Jewish thinkers have wrestled with for centuries: When does confronting evil move from a strategic option to a moral obligation?
