It's Time For Chief Justice Roberts To Resign

A long-time U.S. Supreme Court reporter for the New York Times, Linda Greenhouse, recently wrote a surprisingly candid description of how U.S. Chief Justice John Roberts added "gratuitous" language into his opinion on the recent tariff case, personally criticizing the president on record. Greenhouse conveniently frames the justice's indulgence, however, as a legitimate "warning" to both the president and "the waiting world." She states that Roberts "is losing patience with Trump." Apparently, the chief justice is thought to be entitled to act as a shadow president.

Bless Justice Roberts’ little heart. He’ll retire when they carry him out feet first on a stretcher. Unfortunately.

Roberts looks for any way to HAVE HIS WAY, most of it is obscure BS like calling Obama's SCAM ACA a Tax when in fact it's a SCAM to jack up citizens costs for medical care and claim it's reducing prices. All it does is shift Billions to Crooked Insurance companies for nothing! Roberts thinks that's fine.
What Trump did post this idiotic Tariff Ruling was simple.
SCOTUS. 6 CLOWNS on SCOTUS decided to rule the way they desire to, NOT following the Laws on the books.
The Judges that ruled against Trump on this Tariff issue failed to actually LOOK AT THE LAW.
Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, which allows the president to impose tariffs if imports threaten national security, WHICH THEY DO, and Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, which permits retaliatory tariffs against unfair foreign trade practices, WHICH IS WHAT almost EVERY COUNTRY in the world DOES!
It is quite clear the Judges are POLITICAL HACKS making decisions based on PARTIAL Information. Don't they have Staff's doing all the research for them. It is virtually impossible these Laws PASSED BY CONGRESS were NOT found in the research yet the 6 Clowns (They don't deserve the term JUDGES) decided to NOT include the pertinent laws in their decision while the other 3 REAL Justices DID. There is a serious problem with the 6 Judges not doing their JOBS and ruling based on their personal preferences!

U.S. Chief Justice John Roberts is a Rino and can't be trusted to rule righteously with justice. He doesn't have an iota of common sense in his head. And so it'll take pigs flying to get rid of Roberts. Or an act of God. We're praying for the latter.

Off a Supreme Joke Jester retires, Trump should nominate a new Chief Justice of the Supreme Joke. Roberts doesn't get to choose. The president with the Senates advise get to choose.

Be still my heart. If Chief Just-Us Roberts calls it quits, maybe President Trump can convince Ted Cruz to take the Chief Justice job. Then Governor Abbott can appoint Ken Paxton to that seat and Cornyn gets another term, which he probably will not finish (he's 82; I'm going by actuarial tables, not normal Senate life spans).

When Bush proposed Roberts for the Supreme Court, I had thought he was a great choice. During his confirmation hearings, he gave the Dems (and Ted Kennedy) an excellent lecture on the Constitution. Little did I know that he would modify the letter of the law with his own personal feelings.

Another Bush “gift” from the Bush family.
Roberts never “says” anything. The closest he came was when he literally rewrote Obamacare from the bench. Never took responsibility for the leak at the Supreme Court, et al. Just sits there, stone faced and let’s his minions do the talking.
In response to #7, I don’t think having Cornyn in office is good for America, he is a hack (and I think that is the politest term I can use to describe him…)

Roberts has epilepsy. He is heavily medicated, and has had two public episodes of grand mal seizure.

How come DemoRoid nominees always stay left, but it’s a cr@pshoot if Republican nominees will stay conservative? i.e. “Justice “ Roberts.

Roberts is doing exactly what he was put there for. Help the Dems/Rinos/Deep State retain control. Can't have the masses living/thinking/breathing all on their own, right? Yeah, 'ol G.W. Shrub really slipped the country a mickey.

I believe John Robert’s is deeply compromised. There are many theories as to how. I also believe Justice Scalia discovered it after Roberts flipped his vote on Obamacare. I believe this is why Antonin Scalia was killed.

Bush originally nominated Roberts to fill the associate justice vacancy of retiring Sandra Day O'Connor. Then Chief Justice Rehnquist died, so Bush withdrew Robert's nomination and renominated him for Chief Justice. Then he nominated Samuel Alito to take O'Connor's place.

Kate318 and FelixCat are correct. Roberts is compromised. Under Irish law it is illegal for foreigners to adopt Irish babies.

#9 - It may not be a perfect solution, but it could avoid a serious party split and a runoff. Cornyn may be a RINO, but he does vote with Trump 99% of the time. And Chief Justice Ted Cruz would be among the best choices of all.
Seriously, Pres Trump should have the opportunity to replace Justice Thomas during his term with the thanks of a greatful nation for his nearly 40 years on SCOTUS. I would hate to see a successor Democrat President get his/her/its chance at their version of RBG vacancy. It would be good to replace the Chief Justice, but I suspect that he'd rather leave in a pine box than have Trump appoint his successor. And with Sotomayor's health issues, I wonder if Trump could have an opportunity to get another shot at three replacements this second term.

People used to refer to the Ninth Circuit as the "Ninth Circus" but under Chief Justice Roberts every Circuit has been allowed to become a "Circus" and Roberts is incapable of even maintaining the secrecy of his own Court's deliberations. Rumor has it that Justice Alito is considering retiring but in a better world Roberts would retire and Alito or Justice Thomas would replace him.
