F-35s Take Out Iranian MiGs for First
Air-to-Air Kills in Operation Epic Fury

Original Article

At long last, the F-35 has scored its first true air-to-air kill in the aircraft’s history during Operation Epic Fury. A squadron of F-35s reportedly took down multiple MiG-29s soon after the strikes against Iran took place, marking a pivotal moment for the new family of jets. The F-35 had yet to score a kill against an adversary aircraft, with both American and Israeli operators only having used them to target drones up to this point. No footage of the fight has been released to date, and it is unclear how many MiGs the F-35s have eliminated.

Comments:

Good news, although a MiG-29, or even a bunch of them going up against one or a few F-35s is a bit like Superman going up against a few gangstes with .38 Spl revolvers. Just not quite a fair fight.
Of course, the USMC has a saying, "In combat, if you find yourself in a fair fight, you have had a horrible failure of planning."

Iran had fewer than 30 MiGs total, with a number of them being cannibalized for parts. Russia was intending to supply Iran with Su-35's in 2026, but such deliveries seem doubtful. Iran additionally has around 63 remaining F4 fighter jets from fleets they purchased between 1969 and the 1979 revolution. Pre 1979 F-4 fighter jets are technologically outmatched by the current US, Israeli, and allied aircraft.

Between combat performance in Ukraine and Iran, the Mig 29 will join other Russsian military hardware finding itself in the bargain bin as third world countries go shopping for military hardware. North Korea might be the only remaining customer. As Admiral Hyman Rickover observed, "Inferior weapons will not win a war, so if you aren't committed to winning a war, why spend any money on weapons at all?" The moral of this story: Shop at Uncle Sam's Club.

When institutions get captured by the left and repurposed for the advancement of a woke agenda, they often start having operational breakdowns. People with the knowledge and skills to keep it operating either get forced out or leave in disgust. A story flying below the radar of most national media has been the drawn-out loss of electric power by tens of thousands of Nashville-area residents. About 200,000 Nashville Electric Services (“NES”) customers lost power in an ice storm on Sunday, Jan. 25. In the aftermath of the massive Feeding Our Future scandal and broader allegations of systemic fraud in Minnesota’s social programs, a troubling theme has emerged: accusations of racism repeatedly used to deflect scrutiny, intimidate investigators and stall accountability. Rumors and reports of fraud in Minneapolis, primarily within the city’s exploding Somali community, have been circulating for at least a decade, but criticism of the fraud has been largely dismissed by elected Democrats as "racist" or being underpinned by animosity toward foreigners. News stories focused on Somali fraudsters in recent years were shot down as "racist."

American actions involving Venezuela have stirred up a flurry of theories and narratives around the United States’ strategic intentions. Some theories highlight apparent contradictions between rhetoric and policy, such as President Trump’s pardons of major drug-traffickers despite his public anti-drug stance. Others frame potential U.S. military threats against Venezuela as being driven primarily by America’s dependence on oil. Additional narratives have revived allegations of Venezuelan interference in U.S. elections, including claims from a former Maduro regime official about a “narco-terrorist war” against the United States.

The federal income tax is abusive. It is inconsistent with liberty. It has, as Chief Justice John Marshall noted, the power to destroy. There is nothing positive to be said about it. It cannot even raise government revenues efficiently. As we said a year ago, of all the good Donald Trump could do in his second term, eliminating the federal income tax would be one of his greatest achievements. It’s clearly one of his goals. “As time goes by, I believe the tariffs paid for by foreign countries will, like in the past, substantially replace the modern-day system of income tax,” Trump said during his State of the Union address.

When you’ve constructed a cartoon version of the world in your mind, what do you do when reality proves it wrong? If you’re the leftist establishment, you certainly don’t rethink your assumptions. Late Friday, New York Times columnist David French snarkily referred to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth as a “walking MAGA caricature” on X. Four hours later, Hegseth’s troops were pounding Iran in an intricate series of strikes that left its evil regime reeling. The response to French — who has not withdrawn his sneer — was unsympathetic. My favorite: “Let’s have a contest … you and Pete show up at Fort Bragg, see who the troops respect more.”
