New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is drawing criticism after he dismissed reports of an unruly mob pelting NYPD officers with ice and snow at Washington Square Park earlier this week as a “snowball fight.”
Officers had been summoned to the park after several individuals, who had gathered for a massive snowball fight organized on social media, began climbing onto a nearby building.
Eyewitnesses say officers, using a loudspeaker, initially encouraged the crowd to stay in the park and to have fun and then stood back to monitor the situation.

Hockey fans in New Jersey loudly booed NJ Governor Mikie Sherrill (D.) during a pregame ceremony Wednesday at the Prudential Center in Newark, where the team honored Olympic gold medalist Jack Hughes. Thunderous boos erupted as Sherrill and her husband, Jason Hedberg, were introduced before the New Jersey Devils game against the Buffalo Sabres. Sherrill and Hedberg were joining Hughes and Olympic teammate Tage Thompson for a photo.
The negative reaction to the Democrat governor stood in stark contrast to the celebratory atmosphere for Hughes, who received loud cheers, a standing ovation and chants of “U-S-A! U-S-A!” just moments earlier.

Vanguard Group will pay $29.5 million and bolster its passive investing approach in order to settle a suit by 13 Republican state attorneys general claiming the fund manager and rivals violated antitrust law through their climate activism.
The suit in U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Texas has been closely watched as a test of how far Republicans from energy-producing states would push Wall Street firms they accused of overemphasizing environmental matters.
In a press release, one of the plaintiffs, Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach, said Vanguard “agreed to strict passivity commitments”

Fire crews were ordered to leave the Lachman fire before it was fully extinguished — with it later reigniting into the horrific Palisades fire, a firefighter has claimed.
Scott Pike said he was blown off by a captain when he warned there were five areas still smoking at the site that were too hot to touch with his gloves on.
His comments came in a lawsuit — which city lawyers tried to block from being made public — filed by victims of the inferno against Los Angeles and California. According to the LA Times, Pike said:

In January, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, spoke of the "unspeakable atrocities" suffered by millions of Jews, but added that the atrocities had also been suffered by "members of other minorities." Not quite. Although other minorities were indeed persecuted by the Nazis, none of them faced attempted extermination. Speaking in this way trivializes the Holocaust and makes it comparable to other crimes.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres not only also trivialized the Holocaust; he tried to claim that the United Nations fights antisemitism. If only!

Four passengers of a Florida-registered speedboat killed by Cuban border guards were all born in the communist island nation but lived in the US, the Cuban Embassy said Wednesday night.
Cuba’s interior ministry claimed the country’s law enforcement opened fire on the boat after it entered their waters for an “armed infiltration” attempt.
The vessel was carrying a total of 10 “armed” people who Cuban officials claim “intended to carry out an infiltration for terrorist purposes The Interior Ministry alleged assault rifles, handguns, Molotov cocktails and other weapons were found onboard the speedboat.
Four of the passengers were gunned down by Cuban border troopers in a shootout.

We have been reporting on TGP (in fact, for over seven years) about the damaging ties between late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and former Treasury Secretary under Bill Clinton, Larry Summers.
But since last November, the world of the former Harvard president started to unravel rapidly, as you can read it in: So, today (25), reports arise that Summers will resign from the University where he studied 50 years ago and rose to the presidency, over his Epstein dealings. “Summers will retire at the end of the academic year but will remain on leave until then, a Harvard spokesperson said in a statement.

growing number of K–12 students are taking part in walkouts and protests against federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations across the nation, raising questions about the activists radicalizing them.
The walkouts, which many school administrators say are a legitimate exercise of the students’ First Amendment rights, have seen increasing incidents of violence and lawlessness, ranging from beatings and scuffles to vandalism. The activist group Dare To Struggle instructed students from six downtown Los Angeles area schools to meet at the “Federal Building by 2pm” to protest deportations.

Here's something on which you can rely to be accurate, every time: When Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has an idea about matters of economics, she's wrong. It's as sure as the sun coming up in the morning; it will, in the east, and Senator Warren will be wrong every time. Nowhere has that been more apparent than in examining the record of her brainchild (I use the term 'brain' advisedly), the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, or CFPB. We are generally correct to be a little skeptical about anything with "Bureau" in the title, but this one has been a real mess.

The Cuban regime may have just sealed its fate.
It's not yet clear if the people on board were United States citizens, though many are assuming so since the boat was registered in the U.S.
The Interior Ministry's full statement reads:
Cuba's Interior Ministry announced on Wednesday that four men on a Florida-registered vessel, possibly a speedboat, were shot and killed by its Border Guard after entering Cuban waters near Santa Clara Province. Six other people aboard the boat were wounded. The regime claims that the people on board the vessel shot at the Border Guards first.

Did you ever go to Yankee Stadium? I’ve been there dozens of times and have always felt thrilled and celebratory when they’ve won, especially in the years when Mariano Rivera was closing and Jorge Posada was catching. I even wore my Posada jersey when I knew he would be in the lineup.
There are 46,537 seats in the stadium, and it is always packed. But what fascinated me the most was when the Yankees lost, and I witnessed the reaction of die-hard fans as they exited the ballpark. Many had fire in their eyes — pure rage. Others took to expletives.

Trump hosted several top journalists in the nation at the White House, including me and our editor-in-chief, Alex Marlow, from Breitbart News, for lunch at the White House on Tuesday to preview the address and prepare the country’s top broadcasters for what is to come in his address. Breitbart News was the only outlet without a television network present for the lunch, which was also attended by Vice President JD Vance, White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, and top aides like Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and communications director Steven Cheung.
