The United Nations chief condemned the U.S.-Israeli airstrikes on Iran and called for an immediate return to negotiations “to pull the region, and our world, back from the brink.”
Secretary-General António Guterres told an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council on Saturday that everything must be done to prevent further escalation. “The alternative,” he warned, “is a potential wider conflict with grave consequences for civilians and regional stability.”
Guterres said the U.S. and Israeli airstrikes violated international law, including the U.N. Charter. He also condemned Iran’s retaliatory attacks for violating the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

President Trump's decision to launch a war against Iran without congressional signoff has splintered lawmakers, largely along party lines, and supercharged the debate over war powers authority.
While most Republicans largely rallied around Trump’s decision to carry out the massive joint attack with Israel, Democrats quickly denounced the attack as an illegal “war of choice” and demanded Congress come back to Washington to take a vote on whether to authorize another Middle East invasion.
Democratic leaders have vowed to forge ahead with their plans to force a vote on a war powers resolution next week in the House that would block Trump from carrying out additional strikes.

The death penalty is officially off the table for accused healthcare CIO killer Luigi Mangione. (snip) Mangione won't technically be charged with murder in the federal case, and will instead face a charge of "stalking" Thompson, leading to the father-of-two's death. (snip) In order to seek the death penalty, Garnett wrote, prosecutors needed to show that Mangione had killed Thompson while committing another "crime of violence." (snip) The judge acknowledged that her ruling might seem "tortured and strange" to the average person, but she stressed its the legally correct move, writing that "the law must be the court's only concern."

Last week Tucker Carlson met with President Trump in the White House where he urged the US President to hold back on attacking Iran. Tucker made the request last week during his visit with President Trump in the Oval Office.
Here is video of Tucker Carlson entering the White House for an earlier meeting with President Trump. President Trump ignored his advice and took out Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and his top officials in a military strike on Saturday.
Later today, Jon Karl reported that Tucker called the US strikes on Iraan “disgusting and evil.”

Kamala Harris has joined other far-left Dems by stating that she doesn’t support regime change in Iran.
The former vice president posted her critique of Operation Epic Fury and President Donald Trump shortly after Saturday’s attack began.
Harris described the attack as “a war American people do not want.”
Her statement comes despite Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei being wiped out in his fortified compound along with 40 top Iranian security and regime figures. “Let me be clear: I am opposed to a regime-change war in Iran, and our troops are being put in harm’s way for the sake of Trump’s war of choice,

Semafor reported that, given Democrats’ chances of retaking the House, top Democrats are now devising how to focus on alleged corruption in the Trump administration amongst other issues in their investigative agenda.
“There’s opportunities to look at not just corporations that we think are enabling some of Trump’s corruption, but certainly corporations that are not supporting American families and not really focusing on affordability,” Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA), the ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, said.
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), the top Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, said he might focus on potential violations of the Emoluments Clause, which bars the president from receiving gifts from foreign powers or American taxpayers.

The US and Israel launched airstrikes against Iran Saturday morning in response to the regime’s refusal to dismantle its nuclear program after weeks of negotiations.
The attacks — which the Department of War called “Operation Epic Fury” — follow a massive US military buildup in the Middle East and come after President Trump repeatedly warned Tehran that it would face consequences if it didn’t make a deal with the US.
Iran then launched missiles towards Israel in a retaliatory attack as officials claimed the response would be “crushing.”

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem revealed on Thursday that certain DHS staffers had allegedly installed spyware on her phone and computer, as well as on devices belonging to other political appointees.
“You wouldn’t even believe what I’ve found since I’ve been in this department,” Noem told conservative podcaster Patrick Bet-David .
Noem said she discovered the spyware last year with the assistance of former DOGE chief Elon Musk and his team.
“They helped me identify that some of my own employees in my department had downloaded software on my phone and my laptop to spy on me to record our meetings,” Noem said.

European leaders expressed their unease with President Trump’s attack on Iran, making it clear they took no part in it, with some calling it “dangerous” for stability in the Middle East. In a joint statement, the heads of France, Germany and the United Kingdom called for both sides to return to the negotiation table. “We call for a resumption of negotiations and urge the Iranian leadership to seek a negotiated solution. Ultimately, the Iranian people must be allowed to determine their future,” British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said.

The U.S. is a war addict. Throughout its over 240-year history, it has been at war for all but 16 years,” said a Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman at a press conference in Beijing in remarks spread by social media accounts linked to the Chinese government. The U.S. has 800 overseas military bases in over 80 countries and regions. The U.S. is the main cause of international disorder, global turbulence, and regional instability,” the spokesman said.
The state-controlled China Daily wrote an editorial on Saturday saying that American and Israeli action against Iran “ignores international law” and “follows a pattern of increasing belligerence.”

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, the clerical ruler who transformed Iran into one of the Middle East’s dominant powers, was killed by US-Israeli strikes on Saturday, a senior Israeli government source has told The Independent.
The source confirmed that he had been killed by the joint US-Israeli airstrikes which flattened his compound. The US launched a “major combat operation” overnight, Donald Trump said on Saturday. The Israeli military later confirmed that 200 warplanes were involved in attacking Iran.
The Iranian Supreme Leader's office accused the country's enemies of "mental warfare" following the Israeli claims.

Americans woke up Saturday to something big. The United States and Israel launched a massive joint offensive against Iran’s regime, known as Operation Epic Fury. According to reports, targets included Iran’s supreme leader and president. Major combat operations are now underway, and the implications are global. Predictably, Democrats in Washington and even some Republicans are questioning the strikes. But let’s be honest — this moment was long overdue. Iran’s reign of terror didn’t start yesterday. In fact, this confrontation is the direct result of the Obama administration’s disastrous decision a decade ago to appease, enrich, and embolden Tehran.
Barack Obama and his administration sold the world a fantasy with
