Dems will roll out their perfect agent

Abigail Spanberger, the new governor of Virginia, who has been tapped to deliver the Democrats’ State of the Union reply Tuesday night, is the perfect avatar for her party’s deception. With her long blond bob, minimalist makeup, pinched face and brisk air, she looks like the sort of competent working mom you’d encounter at school drop-off in any affluent suburb. In other words, she seems like somebody you instinctively trust. But don’t be fooled by appearances. Spanberger is an expert at subterfuge, having spent eight years as an undercover CIA case officer, aka a spy, under Barack Obama and John Brennan, in the era when Democrats turned national security back on itself.

Well, Miranda, the liberal media outlets certainly were a key factor in protecting Spunkberger from any serious inquiries when she did make herself available to the press. And sad to say, once again, too many regstered Republican voters did not turn out to vote for the R candidate for Governor.

Spanberger served in the CIA for 8 years and had one overseas assignment in Europe as I have read in the press. Clearly she left the Agency because she was either not motivated by its mission or because she didn't do very well in her assignments and got so-so fitness reports. Either way I wish we knew more about her Agency record since it could reveal a whole lot about her motivation and abilities.

I think that the DNC looks at her as a rising star. Maybe a run for President. I don't think so. I think it will be a few years for the donors post Kamala before they will want to risk a couple of billions on more than a less than ideal candidate. Probably nominate someone who tries to sell himself/herself as some sort of moderate, then govern as a communist. There aren't any real 'moderates' left in that party, no matter what they say.

During the State of the Union speech, Trump can make a point of noting how Democrats are chamelons; running as one thing (a moderate) then turning into something else ultra liberal, socialist, communist) once elected. He can then point out that a prime example of this is the new Governor of Virginia whose first act as Governor was to enact a slate of tax increases and discontinue all of Gov. Youngkin's programs. She immediately turned ultra socialist liberal upon taking office. All calls for "affordability" are wiped out by tax increases, green initiatives, and increased spending by Democrats. This will all be confirmed by Spanberger's Democrat response.

Don't forget she also signed an Order stating that law enforcement could no longer work with ICE. I won't be listening to her because I know she will lie through her teeth. I don't know how the people in Virginia were dumb enough to vote for her or the other two candidates on her ticket. I certainly didn't vote for any of the Dems but my vote doesn't count any more in Virginia. After they get through with the gerrymandering, there won't be any reason for any Republican to show up to vote anywhere in the state.

Analysts: Media neglects hunger crises 5 replies

Not enough media or political attention is given to grave hunger crises in the Global South, according to analysts. Reports also say far more is spent on weapons than food relief. Amina Suleman left her village in Maradun, Zamfara state, in northwestern Nigeria, fleeing Islamist militants. "They killed many of us, and looted our properties and animals. They burnt everything including our food," she told DW. The attacks happened seven years ago, but the security situation still hasn't improved. Government forces are fighting jihadi militias and bandits to stamp out kidnappings and extortion.

A man in his early 20s was shot and killed early Sunday after allegedly breaching the secure perimeter of President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, the U.S. Secret Service announced. The Secret Service said the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. when the suspect made an "unauthorized entry" at the property. The individual was observed near the north gate carrying what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel can. Agents and a deputy from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) confronted the man who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Friday’s blockbuster ruling on tariffs was hardly welcomed by the Trump administration, but it was also widely expected. The Supreme Court clearly established in its 6-3 decision that the International Emergency Economic Powers Act does not afford presidents authority to issue sweeping, unilateral tariffs like those imposed by President Trump over the last year. The justices fractured on other issues. And they left one issue conspicuously unaddressed: What happens to the hundreds of billions of dollars collected from these tariffs so far?

Five important reasons why the Trump economy

If you’re struggling to make sense of the economy today, you’re not alone. Many so-called experts completely whiffed their forecasts, while positive economic data — the Dow Jones Industrial Average at 50,000 points — seemingly contradicts negative survey responses. But understanding five key elements reveals we’re about to be off to the races. First, 2025 was a year of transition for the economy. Under Democrat President Joe Biden, particularly his last two years in office, job growth was disproportionately due to government hiring. Similarly, government purchases played an outsized role in growing overall economic activity, as measured by gross domestic product (GDP).

Alireza Jafarzadeh, deputy director of the Washington office of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), said newly released satellite images also prove the regime has accelerated its efforts to restore its "$2 trillion" uranium enrichment capabilities. "The regime has clearly stepped up efforts to rebuild its uranium enrichment capabilities," Jafarzadeh told Fox News Digital. "It is preparing itself for a possible war by trying to preserve its nuclear weapons program and ensure its protection."

Venezuela's National Assembly, on Thursday, unanimously approved a proposed amnesty that could free hundreds of political prisoners jailed for being critical of the government. The bill marks a landmark development for the South American nation that has spent decades denying holding political prisoners. The change in policy comes after former President Nicolas Maduro was removed from power and kidnapped by the US military in a raid in the country's capital, Caracas, on January 3. Acting President Delcy Rodriguez, who proposed the amnesty last month, signed the bill.

Why would any president destroy the U.S. southern border? The Left typically “pounces” on anyone daring to suggest that the Biden administration had green-lighted illegal immigration to gain new constituents for agendas that otherwise were without broad public support. The Left smears critics of open borders as racist conspiracists spreading the “Great Replacement Theory.” Yet for years, Democrats and leftists themselves had written triumphalist books with titles like “The Emerging Democratic Majority.” And often they crowed that “Demography is Destiny.”

This was the kind of prison break officials say could have changed the region, and perhaps even the world, overnight. Nearly 6,000 ISIS detainees, described by a senior U.S. intelligence official as "the worst of the worst," were being held in northern Syria as clashes and instability threatened the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces, the guards responsible for keeping the militants locked away and preventing a feared ISIS resurgence. U.S. officials believed that if the prisons collapsed in the chaos, the consequences would be immediate. "If these 6,000 or so got out and returned to the battlefield, that would basically be the instant reconstitution of ISIS,"
