I have been following debates over global warming since the 1990s. In the early days, the oil companies defended themselves both by challenging the bad science underlying the global warming theory and by pointing out the benefits of increasing CO2 in the atmosphere. At one time I had a VHS documentary called “The Greening of Planet Earth” on that topic. The benefits of CO2 are indisputable, as anyone who knows anything about photosynthesis–i.e. everyone who went to school before the collapse of recent years–will understand. The Sahara Desert is shrinking, while the rain forests are becoming more lush. That is the theme of this article by a NASA scientist: “Satellite

According to a New York Times report published on Sunday, Khamenei elevated longtime ally Ali Larijani to serve as the country’s de facto decision-maker during January’s anti-government unrest.

In New York, the Mamdani era began its inevitable long decline. And much more besides. But as far as memes are concerned, the week was dominated by the Winter Olympics in Italy. Wins over Canada were sweet, and curling gripped the world’s sports audience.

A few days ago, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) gave America some very welcome news. During a press conference he said that his Democratic members had two choices with regard to President Trump‘s upcoming State of the Union address: “The two options that are in front of us, in our house, is either attend with silent defiance, or to not attend.” This will definitely be a win-win for everyone who tunes in Tuesday evening to hear what the President has to say about his first-year accomplishments and future plans for the country.
