You can’t say we didn’t warn New York what was going to happen if it elected Zohran Mamdani, but I gotta say, I don’t think anyone predicted it would start collapsing so quickly. But, alas, it has. That socialist utopia that Mamdani was supposed to deliver has instead turned into a slow-motion fiscal catastrophe a mere two months in — and even the liberal media is starting to notice.
Mamdani unveiled a $127 billion budget for fiscal year 2027 this week — a staggering $5 billion increase over the prior year.
But what's $5 billion between socialists, right?
To put that into perspective, Mamdani’s proposed budget is

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) demanded that President Donald Trump give the people of the state a total of $8.6 billion in refunds after the Supreme Court struck down Trump’s global tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).
In a letter addressed to Trump that Pritzker posted to X, Pritzker described Trump’s tariffs as having “wreaked havoc on farmers,” having “enraged our allies,” and increased the cost of groceries.
Pritzker explained that he was demanding “a refund of $1,700 for every family” in the state, and that because there were roughly 5,105,448 households in the state, the total came to $8,679,261,600.

A US Air Force pharmacist and his husband are accused of stealing over $3 million from the Department of War to fund their lavish lifestyle that included purchasing a BMW, a Porsche and a mansion in Arizona.
Staff Sgt. Richard Stefon Ramroop, 35, and Manuel George Madrid, 32, were hit with a 12-count indictment for their alleged scheme to steal from the government between January 2022 and December 2025, the Department of Justice announced Thursday.
Ramroop is suspected of using taxpayer funds to purchase thousands of medical devices through his position in the pharmacy at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona. After securing the equipment, the couple resold the devices and

A group of white teens were cleared of hate crime allegations after a black Virginia Tech professor whined to cops he was a victim of a racist attack when they blasted rap music and dumped snow near his home.
Dr. Onwubiko Agozino, a sociology professor at the Virginia university, claimed in a Feb. 10 police report that eight white minors racially targeted him when they rolled up to his Christiansburg home blaring offensive music, throwing ice blocks, and hurling a flurry of racist jabs, including the N-word.
He told authorities the “profane” music included “racial slurs,”

Don’t worry: Friday’s Supreme Court decision limiting some of President Donald Trump’s tariff powers won’t derail his larger, vital project of rebalancing US trade relations, boosting US industry and safeguarding US supply chains — nor should it.
Yes, he’ll need to find other ways (more permanent and legally airtight) to pursue those goals, but the high court’s ruling against his across-the-board tariffs illegal also made it clear he has many such tools at his disposal — including other tariff powers.
Even many of his allies warned that imposing import duties under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act was legally dubious;

Susan Rice has a message for corporate America, and it sounds a lot like a threat.
Obama’s scandal-plagued former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations sat down with former federal prosecutor Preet Bharara on his podcast Stay Tuned and laid out what Democrats have in store for businesses, law firms, universities, and media companies that have sought to accommodate the Trump administration.
It was a disturbing promise of government retribution.
Rice wasted no time getting to the point. "It's not gonna end well for them,” she promised. “For those that decided that it was, you know, that they would act in their perceived very narrow self-interest,

The Democratic Socialists of America believe voter identification laws are “racist,” but DSA comrade and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani wants you to provide a grip of IDs to have the honor of being an “emergency snow shoveler.”
How many IDs are we talking about? Five to be exact.
The NYC website for aspirational shoveler’s asks for the following documents on its application page:
Two small photos
Two “original forms of ID, plus copies”
Social Security card
That seems like a lot, but then again, shovelers who get hired make up to $28.71 per hour. Conservative commentator Stephen L. Miller pointed out the rigorous application form on the NYC government’s website on X.

Few things in Washington, D.C., generate as much as excitement and intrigue as a Supreme Court confirmation showdown. For decades, since the eponymous "borking" of then-Supreme Court nominee Bob Bork in 1987, political battles surrounding the membership of the nation's high court have been among the most contentious and raucous of Beltway affairs. Which is why it's rather curious that very few outside the most fervid of court-watchers seem to be discussing the distinct possibility that there could be one or two Supreme Court vacancies after the current term ends this summer.

The United States government (USG) should not go to war with Iran. Iran’s nuclear program is not a meaningful threat to the United States. How Iran is governed, how its government treats its people, and who the Iranians trade with is none of our business.
A genuinely America First strategy toward Iran would mean ignoring the country and the Middle East as a whole. The United States government has no core interests on the Asian landmass.
The USG should lift all trade sanctions on the Iranian regime, grant diplomatic recognition to whatever regime is currently in power there, and cease efforts to regulate or manage the Iranian nuclear program.

After months of refusing to comply with federal regulations requiring truck drivers to be tested for English language proficiency, California Governor Gavin Newsom is finally reversing course, the United States Department of Transportation confirmed to the Post on Friday.
The USDOT withheld over $40 million from the state last October after USDOT Secretary Sean Duffy said California was the only state that failed to enforce the regulations requiring truckers pass a test showing they can communicate in English and understand traffic signs.
“I shouldn’t have had to threaten to withhold millions in funding for California to come to their senses and enforce the law,” Duffy told The California Post.

Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) is moving forward with legislation aimed at safeguarding dog ownership nationwide following days of criticism, as well as calls for censure, resignation, and removal from committees, over a social media post in which he wrote, “If they force us to choose, the choice between dogs and Muslims is not a difficult one.” I am proud to introduce the Protecting Puppies from Sharia Act. Democrats are losing their minds because I made a simple statement—given a choice between our dogs and those who would ban them, the choice is easy. They can pound sand. This bill will ban federal funds to any state or local government that considers dogs ‘haram.’ Proceed accordingly, Mamdani.

California Democrats, seemingly eager to shield their sanctuary state from federal immigration enforcement, have introduced legislation that would effectively create a no-ICE zone around polling places ahead of the critical 2026 midterms. There's also the very crucial race for governor of California coming up in 2026. Republicans Chad Bianco and Steve Hilton consistently rank first or second in the latest polling.
The legislation, sponsored by state Sen. Tom Umberg (D) and co-authored by Sen. Sabrina Cervantes, is being pitched as a defense against supposed voter intimidation from the Trump administration's ICE crackdown.
Comments:
Senator Banks specifically noted funding provided by the notorious American expatriate Neville Singham operating from Shanghai and the Swiss leftist billionaire Hansgorg Wyss. It is especially ironic that financial backing for violent protests in the United States is coming from China and the European Union, entities that are increasingly intolerant of dissent from their own subject populations.
