How Apple News And Other Tech Giants Change
The Narrative For Democrats

Remember the time before the 2020 election when everyone was focused on social media election interference? (snip) But there is just as much election interference going on now. And it is time the Republican Party got on top of it. (snip) Where there was once flagrant distortion of the news, a number of Big Tech companies are now doing things in a far more subtle and insidious way. Take Apple. (snip) Why does it keep offering me stories from the Guardian, BBC and other left-wing news sites? (snip) I don't mind reading a variety of news. (snip) But why is the pushing all in one direction?

Comments:

Microsoft does the same thing.

If there was a decent alternative to Apple I would gladly take it. Unfortunately, they dominate the market. I use their phones and bought their stock years ago at about 6 bucks a share so there is that to thank them for. At least I won't subscribe to their service and never will if they are pushing leftist politics.

Why is anyone letting Apple select their news? I have an iphone and I never seek news on it. For international stories I go to Lucianne, Gateway, Great Awakening, Citizen Free Press and Coffee and covid.

#2, you're talking about the same idiots who get their news (and opinions even) from places like Tik Tok. Of course, the MSM isn't much better (in fact, not at all). These are people who are easily led around by the nose thanks to their addiction to social media platforms. You can see this by asking them *WHY* they hold the opinions they do: in far too many cases you'll find that they can't even come up with a coherent answer to that question. It's still a good question to ask them, though. Even if they won't admit it aloud, somewhere the recesses of their smooth lizard brains it has to eventually register that they hold the opinions simply because THAT'S WHAT THEY WERE *TOLD* TO BELIEVE, FULL STOP. Unfortunately this is why social media is such an effectivel propaganda tool. It's exactly why the left lost their (you know what) when Elon Muck took over Twitter/X.

Spain has denied the US permission to use their shared bases to launch attacks against Iran. The country's socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez condemned Israel and the US for striking Iran and killing Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares said Spain wanted 'democracy, freedom and fundamental rights for the Iranian people', but it would not allow its bases to be used in the ongoing military action. The decision puts Spain at odds with its European partners including the UK, France and Germany, who on Sunday said they would defend their interests in the region through defensive action to destroy Iran's capability to fire missiles and drones.

The death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a US airstrike has brought new urgency to the question of who will become Iran’s new Supreme Leader. Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of the Islamic Republic's founder Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, is a prominent figure in these deliberations and is seen as a relative moderate within the establishment. Mr Khomeini, 53, holds a symbolically important role as custodian of his grandfather's mausoleum and has close ties to reformist politicians. Some politicians inside Iran have seen him as a rival to hardliners who gained sway under Ayatollah Khamenei, notably his son, Mojtaba.

Most of us are familiar with the term “the fog of war” to describe the gauzy details that emerge in the breaking news environment of an outbreak of hostilities. Originally, it had been a description applied to military matters, but in the past generation or so, it has expanded to include the information pathways that emerge when conflicts erupt. What we have sadly come to expect is that news outlets are often the ones operating a fog machine as news breaks. This being a common occurrence, and also due to the sensitivities attached to the activity,

The UK has agreed to a US request to use British military bases for "defensive" strikes on Iranian missile sites, Sir Keir Starmer has said. But the prime minister said the UK had learned lessons from the "mistakes of Iraq", and was not involved in the initial strikes on Iran and "will not join offensive action now". Sir Keir said the basis of the decision to accept the US request was the "collective self-defence" of allies and protecting British lives, accusing Iran of pursuing a "scorched-earth strategy". The BBC understands the US is likely to use RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire and Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean for strikes on Iranian missile sites.

The federal income tax is abusive. It is inconsistent with liberty. It has, as Chief Justice John Marshall noted, the power to destroy. There is nothing positive to be said about it. It cannot even raise government revenues efficiently. As we said a year ago, of all the good Donald Trump could do in his second term, eliminating the federal income tax would be one of his greatest achievements. It’s clearly one of his goals. “As time goes by, I believe the tariffs paid for by foreign countries will, like in the past, substantially replace the modern-day system of income tax,” Trump said during his State of the Union address.

In the aftermath of Charlie Kirk's horrifying assassination on Sept. 10, I hoped that at least something good might come from it. I did see a renewed energy among conservatives, revival among young people and a message of forgiveness, the heart of Christianity, on the national stage for all to see. But in the months since he died, something else has risen up, too: Candace Owens, a former colleague of Charlie Kirk, and her ever-spiraling grift. At first, I was saddened by the grip she seemed to have on everyday conservatives, caught up in her bombastic storytelling and bizarre tendency toward conspiracy theories.

The United States and Israel launched a joint military operation targeting Iran on Saturday in part to ensure the regime will never have the capability to threaten the world with nuclear weapons, according to Breitbart News.
