In the aftermath of the massive Feeding Our Future scandal and broader allegations of systemic fraud in Minnesota’s social programs, a troubling theme has emerged: accusations of racism repeatedly used to deflect scrutiny, intimidate investigators and stall accountability.
Rumors and reports of fraud in Minneapolis, primarily within the city’s exploding Somali community, have been circulating for at least a decade, but criticism of the fraud has been largely dismissed by elected Democrats as "racist" or being underpinned by animosity toward foreigners. News stories focused on Somali fraudsters in recent years were shot down as "racist."

Nearly five years after two pipe bombs turned up outside the Republican National Committee and Democratic National Committee headquarters on Jan. 6, 2021, the FBI finally made an arrest earlier this month. Brian J. Cole Jr., a 30-year-old from Woodbridge, Virginia, now faces federal charges for transporting an explosive device across state lines with the intent to kill and attempted malicious destruction by means of explosives. But new whistleblower disclosures shared with Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) are raising serious questions about whether federal authorities have the right guy.

However, authorities would not comment

Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) said the Brown University shooting was a result of President Donald Trump’s “dizzying campaign to increase violence in this country.”
Murphy said, “If you look at states like Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, California that have stronger laws, we have gun violence rates, murder rates, mass shooting rates that are two to 3 to 4 times lower than states that have loose gun laws. And many of the weapons that are used in our states for gun crimes come to our states from those states that have an ability for criminals and people with serious mental illness to buy weapons.

Among the first things I taught my new students at the beginning of every new school year was the difference between deference and respect. One defers to others because of their position of authority, regardless of whether they are honest, honorable, decent and capable. Respect, however, must be earned every day. We defer to others because of their positions and to a lesser degree, their accomplishments. We respect others because of who they are, because they’ve proved themselves worthy of our respect regardless of their positions of authority.
In the military, you defer to rank, but you respect those who don’t trade on it, or who fling their accomplishments
