BUENOS AIRES - Early results in Argentina's legislative elections on Sunday showed a landslide victory for President Javier Milei as voters overwhelmingly backed his free-market reforms and deep austerity measures, providing a strong boost for the libertarian leader to continue his economic overhaul. The president's party, La Libertad Avanza, scored 41.5% of the vote in Buenos Aires province compared with 40.8% for the Peronist coalition, according to official results. LOS ANGELES — June Lockhart, who became a mother figure for a generation of television viewers whether at home in “Lassie” or up in the stratosphere in “Lost in Space,” has died. She was 100. Lockhart died Thursday of natural causes at her home in Santa Monica, family spokesman Lyle Gregory, a friend of 40 years, said Saturday. “She was very happy up until the very end, reading the New York Times and LA Times everyday,” he said. “It was very important to her to stay focused on the news of the day.” The daughter of prolific character actor Gene Lockhart,

Barring something cataclysmic, Zohran Mamdani is going to be the next mayor of New York City, and he's beginning to realize that. It's difficult to say the mask was ever truly on with the 33-year-old communist nepo baby that has never held a real job, but with his latest moves, every bit of pretense is now dropping to the side. After all, why should he care about maintaining broad appeal when he's running in one of the most left-wing cities in the country, whose voters seem more than content to hand him the keys no matter what radical positions he takes? Understand that this goes beyond

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro accused President Donald Trump of pushing for war against his country just a day after the Pentagon confirmed it had dispatched the world’s largest aircraft carrier to the region. In a national broadcast on Friday night, Maduro accused Trump of "fabricating a new eternal war" against Venezuela. "They promised they would never again get involved in a war and they are fabricating a war that we will avoid," said Maduro. "They are fabricating an extravagant narrative, a vulgar, criminal and totally fake one.” Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said Friday that the U.S.S. Gerald R. Ford, the largest aircraft carrier in the world, was being deployed to “dismantle

President Donald Trump participated in a phone interview with TIME at the White House on Oct. 15. Over the course of the interview, Trump discussed in detail how the ceasefire in Gaza came together and his view on where the region goes from here. Here's what Trump told TIME Senior Political Correspondent Eric Cortellessa. TIME: I want to start off by asking what do we not know about the behind-the-scenes events that led to this agreement? What were the turning points and key moments? Well, you know, you have 3,000 years of history, and in the case of the Middle East, there’s tremendous hatred, there's tremendous dislike, there's tremendous distrust among everybody.

A mystery donor whose $130 million contribution is meant to pay U.S. military troops during the government shutdown is Timothy Mellon, an heir to a renowned Gilded Age banking family, The New York Times reported Saturday. But Mellon’s donation works out to only about $100 per service member. It costs nearly $6.4 billion to pay U.S. troops every two weeks. And using his money might run afoul of federal law, according to the Times, which cited two people familiar with the matter in identifying the billionaire railroad magnate as the donor. When President Donald Trump announced the donation at the White House on Thursday, he did not name the man’s identity,

We're on the 24th day of the Schumer Shutdown, and the Democrats are continuing to vote against opening the government. But the Democrats are sending their people out to spin things as best they can. It is not going well for them. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-8) appeared on CNBC, where he was crushed by the facts. This was priceless as host Becky Quick nuked the Democrats' argument on Obamacare subsidies. What you're asking Republicans to do when they control the White House, Senate, and House is effectively what the Democrats could not do when they controlled all 3 of those heads of government themselves. HOUSTON, Texas — A Union Pacific railroad employee reported the discovery of a brush fire near a storage facility along an interstate highway in Houston. Firefighters responded and found the partially burned body of a man hanging by a rope from the overpass, police officials stated. The grim discovery of a man found hanging and partially burned beneath a Houston freeway Thursday night has drawn chilling parallels to cartel-style executions long documented by Breitbart’s Cartel Chronicles Project in northern Mexico, where bodies are often displayed in public as a message. While Houston police have not confirmed any connection to organized crime, investigators say the circumstances strongly suggest homicide,

There's applying pressure, and then there's PRESSURE. Donald Trump is an expert on both, and he is dumping tons of the latter on the tinpot tyrant of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro. The raging authoritarian in charge of the failed narcostate has been a key portrait in the Trump bullseye ever since the administration was sworn in. Even though Maduro was a priority during his first administration, Trump Part Deux has a new focus and determination to not only shut down the drug and human trafficking pouring out of the country, but to do everything in his power to rid the country of Maduro's evil influence entirely.

The No Kings protests were a display of left-wing idiocy as participants dressed in costumes, chanted like ageing hippies at a Joan Baez concert, and held silly signs demanding that America have “no kings.” It would appear that they achieved their goal, since we haven’t been ruled by a monarch in 249 years. Wind power has been sold to us as an environmental utopia, with lower costs, but ends up being nothing of the sort in practice. With the aid of government subsidies, we are putting up electric generating windmills all over the place. Such subsidies include the Production Tax Credit (PTC), which, according to the Institute for Energy research (IRER), provides a per-kilowatt-hour tax credit for electricity generated by qualified wind projects; and the Investment Tax Credit (ITC), which provides a tax credit based on the investment made in renewable energy projects, including wind. According to IRER, trillions are being invested here. The United States, under the Biden-Harris climate bill,

For all the unity that the Democratic Party projects, there’s actually a lot of drama behind the scenes, and it’s nice to see the details finally come out. According to a new tell-all on last year’s campaign, Joe Biden spent the last weeks of his re-election meltdown dodging phone calls—not from reporters or donors, but from Barack Obama himself. For two full weeks before he finally bailed out last July, Biden reportedly refused to take his old boss’s calls. And get this: even after he quit, he gave Obama the cold shoulder for another month. It’s a far cry from the friendly dynamic Democrats once sold to the public. Remember the memes,
