Catherine Connolly, a pro-immigration self-avowed socialist running as an independent, won Ireland’s 2025 presidential election in a landslide Friday, defeating both of the nominees of the country’s two largest parties.
Connolly, 68, pulled in a massive 63.4% of votes, dwarfing the 29.5% received by Fine Gael nominee Heather Humphreys and the 7.2% won by Fianna Fáil nominee Jim Gavin. In her victory speech, the socialist promised to be “an inclusive president” multiple times and expressed her desire to “shape a new republic … that values and champions diversity … and the new people that have come to our country.”

What a shame. Not surprised I suppose. I visited with some of my cousins in Ireland a few years ago. One dear fellow raved about Biden. Biden was a great man On the other hand he despised President Trump. I stayed out of any further US political news.

Landslide, because the conservative candidate was not allowed on the ballot. 13% of the ballots cast were ruined in protest. Connolly is not a socialist. She is a full fledged communist. Ireland is lost.

Let's see...... the smart Irish defected....er.... emigrated to the US in the 1800's. Ireland was neutral during WWII. You know....that war against literally Hitler and Tojo. Ireland was one of the first to come out pro-Hamas. And finally, they allowed Rosie O'Donnell to move there.
Ill be retiring my green shirts out of shame.

Luck of the Irish. But not this time. Someday, when it gets darn difficult to live, they will learn. But too late, once again, I am afraid.

The Irish national defense has about 9,000 members. They spend a bare minimum protecting the country. The island is pretty much ripe for the taking.

Conor MacGregor might’ve (probably but who knows) won but due to weird Irish election laws wasn’t allowed to run. This is why Ireland is burning. Rightfully so.

The Irish don't need a reason to drink but I think I'll buy some stock in Guinness and Jameson's. Their profits are sure to soar when the Irish really start drowning their sorrows.

Well, cross Ireland off the list of places to visit. Nations that are islands should allow only minimal immigration in order to preserve their culture and heritage. When you don’t care about preserving your culture and heritage you become nothing, just a nation of chaotic voices whose citizens become prey to decisive forces. Fortunately millions of Irish to fled to the New World so some semblance of their race will survive. Why the West is intent on destroying its culture is beyond me. They will regret what they have done, just as the Brits have.
