A North Carolina police officer who declared he was “Antifa” in a post on the social media app BlueSky was fired Monday by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, according to the News & Observer. Brian Edwards, 37, served as a detention officer for the agency while making the posts and had been promoted to corporal in May, the News & Observer reported. Edwards’ posts included calls for subjecting “traitors” to “war crimes trials” and hinted at executing them. “I maintain that the biggest mistake the US government has ever made was letting the traitors from the civil war back into our country without punishment,”

Comments:

Got to wonder how many other infiltrators like him across the country, who haven’t been revealed.

FTA: “I maintain that the biggest mistake the US government has ever made was letting the traitors from the civil war back into our country without punishment,” Edwards posted on BlueSky, according to the X account “Mostly Peaceful.” Apparently our deranged butterball detention officer is ignorant of the fact he's supporting the same political party who he deems as traitors. Ya gotta admit, the commies did a helluva job sabotaging our educational system the last several decades. Otherwise, we might only have a few hundred igmos like this guy running around instead of millions.

Political change mimics a supertanker in its inertia. Turning direction proceeds imperceptibly at first. Then advances sporadically, punctuated by specific accelerating events. Progress in the new direction proceeds over decades, interspersed by backsliding episodes.  Glenn Reynolds examines the operative political dynamic. The Left’s “strategy has consisted of using bullying and propaganda to convince 80% of the population that the views of 20% of the population are in the majority.” Mass gaslighting is ancient.[snip] America’s current gaslighting episode originated against McCarthyism, accelerating ever since.

Jimmy Kimmel’s indefinite suspension from ABC feels less like censorship than comeuppance. The comedian who once built his reputation on gleeful political incorrectness now finds himself hoisted by his own progressive petard, pulled off air after suggestingCharlie Kirk’s alleged killer was a Trump supporter rather than what he actually appears to be — a far-left fanatic with a taste for blood. Don’t confuse this for another cancel culture moment. It’s the predictable end of a peculiar American transformation.

Death Penalty for Kirk Assassin? Bad Idea 35 replies

I am not opposed to using the death penalty for specific heinous crimes. Certainly, it was warranted for Timothy McVeigh, and Charlie Kirk’s killing was indeed heinous. However, the alleged assassin is Tyler Robinson and that gives me pause, because there are thousands of Tylers out there ready to make him a martyr. This hate-filled, deluded, brainwashed community has been groomed deliberately by a Machiavellian academia since the 1960s. There was a time when public education institutions were staffed with unbiased professors and educated their students with genuine facts and encouraged independent thought. That was back then.

Before last Friday’s House vote on a symbolic resolution condemning the assassination of Charlie Kirk and all forms of political violence while honoring his life, the purported leaders of the Democratic Caucus informed its members that they would support the measure. Yet, in a truly vile floor speech prior to the vote, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y) called the resolution “reckless” and claimed Kirk’s “rhetoric and beliefs were ignorant, uneducated, and sought to disenfranchise millions of Americans.” In the end, less than half of the Democrats voted for the resolution. The rest stood with AOC.

France and Saudi Arabia hope to use this year’s gathering of world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly and the increasingly horrific war in the Gaza Strip to inject new urgency into the quest for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Those efforts include a new road map for eventual Palestinian statehood in territories Israel seized in the 1967 Mideast war, and moves by several Western countries to join a global majority in recognizing such a state before it has been established. Britain, Canada and Australia formally recognized a Palestinian state on Sunday, joining nearly 150 countries that have already done so,
