California Governor Gavin Newsom lashed out at General Motors CEO Mary Barra, claiming she 'sold out' the state by backing away from a ban on gas cars.
GM, America's largest car company, says it is simply responding to what drivers actually want — exposing a widening gap between what customers want and Newsom's aggressive push for electric vehicles.
The automaker has doubled down on gas models and, according to the governor, lobbied state officials to roll back California’s landmark clean car law.

…And he’s going to hold his breath until he turns blue and passes out, so they’ll change their minds and play the game HE wants to play! Newscum is a spoiled child.

It works like this, Gavvy: Give me something *better* for about the same money and we'll talk. Paying more for less (sometimes *much* less) is a non-starter.

Gavin "Gruesome" Newsom is one of many in California that caters to the ILLEGAL INVADERS. Forget what people want is his motto.

The reality is, you don't even have to be a red-blooded car lover to reject Leftist dogma on EVs. You just have to be practical. EVs CANNOT manage long travel. If you plan a long day trip, in the middle of it you have to add 6 hours for recharging, and that is if a charger is immediately available and is a newer, faster charging model. For most, that would break a day trip into 2 days, with an extra overnight stop and meals on the road. Then you have to get past the extra cost of the EV to begin with, the risk of a toxic fire in an accident, the higher cost of insurance, the need to completely replace the batteries in ten years for $$$$$$, ... It's just not a good financial deal.
Plus, the refusal of the Left to admit the disadvantages make you wonder what other problems might be lurking out of sight.

I’m betting that Newsome is driven around in big, black SUVs that consume high octane gasoline.

Attn Californians - Newsom is trying to sneak a per mile gas tax in any piece of legislation he thinks he an get it in. If that happens, it will be the final blow for CA.

California doesn't have the electrical infrastructure to support all the EV's Gov. Bril Cream is mandating, and as far as I can see, it can't even support the current electrical demand without brownouts and blackouts. And there don't seem to be any plans to increase the electrical infrastructure which can't happen overnight.
California is the world's largest insane asylum without walls or fences, and the inmates are in charge. Glad I moved out 18 months ago.

Wonder what kind of cars Newsom drives or is chauffeured around in? Is his limo or big SUV an EV? How about the support vehicles and police escorts?

There's really no Gavin Newscum. There's been a body snatcher ala Invasion of the Body Snatcher movie circa 1950s and Gavin is a hollowed out shell of himself with a talking
alien inside spouting nonsense. sick. and evil.

Good move if they want to stay in business. But, I'm done buying from Government Motors. They sell pretty much crap, with the possible exception of the Corvette and Camaro.

In spite of his continuous failures, silly ideas and insane behavior, Mophead will still make the ultimate mistake of throwing his hat in the ring in 2028 and will be laughed out of the race. He will give Harris competition for the prize of worst candidate ever.

Californians should loudly and visibly highlight Newsom's use of vehicles for himself and his entourage---and demand they practice what he preaches. It's like he rides in a gilded carriage, but insists the peasants ride in oxcarts. Or walk.

Her next announcement should be to announce that GM will be closing down any plants in California since they won't be allowed to sell any of their vehicles in the State.

I have an ev. It's usually known as a golf cart. I drive it around on a private road in my lake community. Fish a little, stop by and chat with other residents then plug it in, go have a cocktail while the sun sets and it's ready to go the next day. Perfect vehicle for what it's designed for.

Someone should take him for a ride past the Car lots where thousands of EV's are staged. Nobody wants them. Even here in Florida, ride by a Dealership where they sell EV's. They are all standing on the side of the Store! Nobody wants them!! The Big sellers are the BIG Cars and Trucks!!

It's a good decision by Barra but she is going to have enough trouble with hundreds of thousands of failing GM V8 engines.
Just my opinion: when companies are run by MBAs ( especially DEI MBAs) and not engineers, the company goes to shite. Anyone remember "Carly" Fiorina at HP?

Going along with Newsom would have seen GM on the auction block within a year. I don't like GM cars but that shouldn't happen to anybody.
