Letitia James’s Fraudulent
$200,000 Credit Line Mortgage in 2021
Could Land Her in Prison for 15-30 Years

Letitia James’s New York State mortgage records indicate that she committed mortgage fraud on a $200,000 “Credit Line Mortgage” with Citizens Bank in 2021. Like other mortgages, it requires a signed note, a mortgage document, and recording with the county clerk. The mortgage document shows that James misrepresented her five-unit apartment building as a single-family dwelling. This false claim allowed James to avoid significantly higher commercial loan closing costs and a higher interest rate.

Comments:

Do the crime, do the time, Ms. James. Perhaps you and Sen. Pencil-neck can petition the court to be located in the same facility, where you can attempt con games on your fellow inmates.

Make her financially destitute with legal costs and penalties. Forfeit her license to practice law, and place her on a lengthy probation period that will be voided if she ever even opens her mouth in public.

Won't happen. If indicted (unlikely, this is New York) and convicted she'll only get a slap on the wrist of a small fine. Same for the 'Honorable' senator Adam Schiff.

FTA:"Letitia James’s hypocrisy is breathtaking. After Donald Trump’s fraud conviction, on February 16, 2024, James released a statement stating, “When powerful people cheat to get better loans, it comes at the expense of honest and hardworking people. Everyday Americans cannot lie to a bank to get a mortgage to buy a home, and if they did, our government would throw the book at them. There simply cannot be different rules for different people. Because no matter how big, rich, or powerful you think you are, no one is above the law.” Tish belongs in jail for sure. The audio of her remarks above should be blasted into her cell at high volume day and night. Disturb her peace as much as possible.

I've got 2,000 acres with some oil wells on them and would like to add some more. How'd you like to invest in my little venture? It's a guaranteed monthly income with all the oil being pumped. Heck, I'll even take you for a drive out to take a look at the operation. Trust me.

@Ruckus Tom - Is that you cousin Billy Sol? Way back in the early 60's, Billy Sol Estes was a well-known, West Texas conman. As I recall, he was considered a "beloved scoundrel" who bamboozled the US Dept of Agriculture and "damn Yankees" with multiple schemes. One of his best-known swindles was driving investors around the back roads of West Texas to count the large number of trailer tanks in his "anhydrous ammonia business". While he drove and spun tales of riches, underlings quickly hauled groups of trailers to new locations so they were recounted multiple times. https://www.texasmonthly.com/true-crime/billie-sol-estes-free-man/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billie_Sol_Estes

They can charge James all they want. The problem is NY judges an juries. If her trial is is Southern NY, she walks. If it is in west or northern NY, she goes to prison. Conviction is a crap shoot with judges and juries. Let's hope they shop jurisdictions like the Democrats do to ensure a guilty verdict.

It really is not a slam dunk case. Just because a house can legally be used as five apartments doesn't necessarily make it a five family house. According to the occupancy permit, the third floor had a total of two habitable rooms and was approved for use as two family apartments. The basement, first and second floors each had at least two rooms (the basement had three), but each of those floors was listed as only one apartment. All she needed to do was lease out the third floor as a single apartment and it would be a 1-4 family house. I live in a rural area without any zoning, occupancy restrictions, or building permit requirements. If I wanted, I could legally lease out every bedroom in my house to five separate families. Just because I can doesn't make my house a five family house. Personally, I have no doubt that Letitia intended to commit and did in fact commit mortgage fraud, but convincing a NYC jury of democrats to convict her of anything is extremely remote, particularly under these facts.

For decades, Democrats and Republicans have regularly cooperated to swiftly confirm the many, many individuals selected by each president to serve in their administration. Regardless of the party in the White House, both sides have long agreed that a president deserves to have his or her administration in place, quickly. That doesn’t mean we don’t disagree. But it does mean when nominees are held up, opposed, or blocked—it’s for a legitimate purpose, not for leverage in partisan games, to score political points at the expense of public safety. Now, while I agree with the above sentiment, those sentences aren’t actually mine. Those are the words of Democrat Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer [SNIP]

Have federal district judges peaked? Democrat judges, especially Biden judges, have been issuing insane rulings trying to stop President Trump from doing pretty much anything. These rulings are so bad that even Justice Kagan, hardly a Trump pal, was baffled by them. I’ve argued that these rulings are literal lawfare, there’s no pretense that these various blocks are even legal, they’re there to force Trump to go to the Supreme Court. And then the Supreme Court, especially its weakest man, Chief Justice Roberts to mull over what the cocktail party set will say and cringe over being accused of being a rubber stamp for Trump.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has become the rare figure who draws as much raw hostility from Democrats as Donald Trump ever has. That fact alone is remarkable. Democrats once celebrated Kennedy as the scion of a legendary political dynasty. They now treat him as a menace to society. His break from the blue ranks last year, and the populist movement he has built, mirrors Trump’s earlier rebellion against establishment Republicans. That similarity explains why both men are uniquely loathed by Democratic insiders. The fury stems not just from Kennedy’s decision to leave the Democrat party, but from how he left.
