The winds of change could soon blow on Iran, according to a new report.
The Islamic Republic is facing collapse, indicates the report, issued by UK-based Henry Jackson Society this week, as the UN accuses Tehran of executing nearly 900 people already this year “as a tool of intimidation.”
If the Islamic Republic falls, “there is a danger that regime collapse could lead to a vacuum of governance that is accompanied by civil war,” according to the findings.
“This is an outcome that must be avoided at all costs for the Iranian people, and every step must therefore be made to ensure that any transition is quick and painless,” it added.

Avoided at all costs?
They need a civil war. Terrorist funding around the world would end and there might be peace in the Middle East for the first time in 600 years.
The UN can't have that! No sir! How else can we get rid of Israel if Iran is gone?

I'll believe it when I see it. We've been told many times that the regime is about to collapse. The mullahs will kill millions of their own people to stay in power.

If Iran is close to collapse it would be totally because of some rogue ayatollah and a refusal to separate "church" from state. Oh, right. Iran isn't a democracy or even a republic. Just a hammer to the forehead of anyone who disagrees with gray bearded, Picture Yosemite Sam hollering for Clyde to get on his camel and ride!

The little people of Iran may be ready for change...BUT...some globalist/oligarch will take charge...and they will decide what's right for Iran....the world powers cannot abide losing control of the people....after all...they are there to serve their masters....so if some Islamist big shot fill the bill...the people are ...how should I say it?...placed securely and quickly turned...that should pass scrutiny for word police....

#1 is exactly right. We should be doing everything possible to make that happen. Iran had previously been a monarchy with a fairly large subset of the population that was educated and capable of transitioning to a westernized style of government. It would be a massive achievement for world peace if that could be initiated. Definitely worth trying.

Every dollar of the Islamic Republic is spent on spreading Islam to the world, not a cent spent on the people of Iran. Iran can keep their Islam, and in my view, the Islamic Republic cannot fall soon enough. 50 years of muslim clerics should be enough to satiate anyone's appetite for this disaster.

Don't blame us for the collapse of their tyrannical government. It's not worth saving, and the people of Iran will figure out their own direction soon thereafter.

I heard that many parts of Iran have no water, has to be trucked in. The irony is Israel knows how to fix that.

Civil War in Iran is the best thing that could happen especially if the faction with a bellyful of the Ayatollah Assahollah could win.

Who controls the guns? That will determine who rules in Iran. We already know the Mullahs have murdered thousands (millions?) to stay in power. They are butchers.

as long as the clerics have the support of the military and para-military groups, they will remain in power.
I am sure that more than a few generals are living luxurious lives.

Wiping out these evil mullahs would be a good thing.....but what next? Islam is a bucket of scorpions, so who knows what replaced the current scorpion.

What the Iranian people NEED is a bloody catharsis of a revolution. Where the Mullahs are dragged into the streets and hung by the lamp posts. With all scores settled peace will return.

The more the regime hunts down internal enemies, the less time/energy they have to make mischief in the world, or rebuild their nukes. Let's hope this turmoil lasts a long time. Unfortunately, the Iranian people will suffer, but they're the ones who threw out the Shah in favor of the mullahs, so they're getting what they wanted, good and hard.
