Pope Leo XIV on Sunday called for an end to the “pandemic of arms, large and small,” as he prayed publicly for the victims of a shooting during a Catholic school Mass in the United States.
History’s first U.S. pope spoke in English as he denounced the attack and the “logic of weapons” fueling wars around the world, during his Sunday noon blessing from his studio overlooking St. Peter’s Square.
“Our prayers for the victims of the tragic shooting during a school Mass in the American state of Minnesota,” said the Chicago-born Leo. “We hold in our prayers the countless children killed and injured every day around the world.

How about an end to the ‘pandemic of lib ideology’. Guns are never a problem without some lib minded pinhead solving their delusional issues through violence.

A world without weapons would be nice. Perhaps the vatican could lead by example

Someone send him John Lott's book.
And remind him that his predecessor didn't speak clearly about trans crap. Not forcefully. Not Biblically. I mean. There's guilt to go around.

Maybe he should start lecturing African Muslims for openly slaughtering Christians, instead of bolstering democrat talking points. If the pope was truly an American, he should know that our country was founded and kept independent as a Constitutional Republic by armed citizens.

People who are not sufficiently intelligent to see that idea through to it's logical conclusion are responsible for more deaths than those caused by random cases of mental illness. Unarmed populations immediately become helpless when their government turns rogue and turns their own guns on the people. See Venezuela, Russia, China, Germany, North Korea, Iran, Australia, New Zealand, Britain, etc. etc.

I was hoping that this pope would give me a reason to return to the Catholic Church. Guess not.

Mr. Pope, when the Disciple Peter, in the Garden of Gethsemane, grabbed a sword and cut the ear off a body guard, what did the Lord Jesus Christ say and do?
Our Lord calmly reached down, picked up the severed ear, and reattached it to the guard's head, healing it as if it had never happened. He then chewed out Peter for his criminal act, warning all of us through Peter that, "He who lives by the sword (whoever commits violent crime) will perish by the sword (legal authority will execute them).
Notice that Our Lord did NOT condemn all "sharp bladed instruments," while also calling for them to be outlawed and destroyed? He did not. He made very clear that crime comes from the heart of man, not the instrument used to murder.
Can't Catholics apply the "Mind of Christ" (Holy Scripture), in the current time?
Perhaps it's why the Roman Catholic Church has been losing membership at such an alarming rate over decades?

Start with mental health. This Annunciation shooter had mental issues. He even had been educated in that very school, where his mom had worked. Where were the red flags? Why weren’t these attended to? What were contributing factors? It is so easy to blame the weapon. It is much harder to look into the heart and see what is there — and then deal with and heal it.
“You shall love the Lord your God with all you heart, and with your soul, and with all your might. This is the first and greatest commandment. The second is like unto it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. All the law and the prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Murderous transsexual control seems to me to be a higher priority. It would be nice if the Pope would speak to the derangement that society is colluding in by suspending judgment in relation to people who are at war with both society and reality. It would be a kindness to them to know that someone cares enough about them to help them back to reality. Because, unlike society, reality always wins.

I have a small gun collection. With the exception of some war souvenirs brought back over the last 160 years or so, none have been used to shoot at anyone. I have a couple of cowboy revolvers on my bench right now waiting for adjustments. They've been there for weeks and havent moved an inch, let alone hurt anyone. Not even a hint of free will or sentience.
Reducing violence may be more effective with psycho control and criminal control.

Grade school children at a Catholic school Mass first thing in the morning. By definition could there be a softer target? Disarming makes us ALL soft targets. No thanks bro.

Since the Pope addressed the crimes at the Catholic Church in Minneapolis, he should think about directly boring down on where the use of firearms to perpetuate violent crimes really exists in the USA, in the out of control Democrat controlled Black populated inner cities and by the mentally ill.
