Florida’s immigration jail known as “Alligator Alcatraz” will probably be empty of detainees within days, a state official has said, indicating compliance with a judge’s order last week that the facility must close.
The Republican governor Ron DeSantis’s administration appealed the order by federal court judge Kathleen Williams that the tented detention camp in the Florida Everglades, which attracted criticism for its harsh conditions, must be dismantled within 60 days.
But in an email reported Wednesday by the Associated Press, Kevin Guthrie, executive director of the Florida department of emergency management, which operates the jail on behalf of the federal government, appeared to confirm it would be shuttered.

They should have let the illegals out to walk through the Everglades. The gators and pythons need to eat, too.

Why is this rogue judge allowed to get away with her lawless rulings? She should be retired today, involuntarily. Take the robe away, disbar.

Well, OK... But if I were Emperor, I'd make the Judges and ACLU type lawyers pay for both the building of the facility and for tearing it down. And then make them house the former residents of the place in theirown homes and offices.

What is the difference between this and the Maricopa tent jails Sheriff Joe did? You are a law breaker and you do not deserve a cushy treatment.

Well, this is a complete bunch of horse****! Environmentalist wackos and corrupt judges rule the day, huh?
Maybe one of these days Conservatives will start filing these type lawsuits against leftist ****s whenever they try to build something. Heck it doesn't matter what it is, but when another corrupt judge rules in favor of the commie leftist clowns involved they'll be exposed for their double standards. Besides, all leftists should be sued for about anything one can think of since they're mostly loons and would take the country over a cliff if given the opportunity and richly deserve to be bankrupted by court costs.

An alternate site of incarceration should be.........GUANTANAMO! I'm sure the judge will find that much more fair and environmentally friendly. And the Cubans won't mind.

From what I've heard, the alligators haven't been keeping up their part of the bargain at Alligator Alactraz.
I haven't heard about any escapees being caught by any of them.

Don't underestimate DeSantis. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he has another trick up his sleeve.
A tent prison in a hurricane zone always struck me about as brilliant as building paper homes in the LA hills. I still suspect that Alligator Alcatraz is a temporary facility.

Who is going to pay for the re-location of all the illegals there, and for the second location, doubling the occupancy cost? I think, if the State of Florida prevails, that the judge lost the case, and should be personally liable.

Yeah...yeah.. another court case brought by the democratic wacky judges....yawn...it will be overturned and Aligator Alcatraz will be up and operating soon....if the democrats spent as much time trying to figure out what happened in 2024...as they do trying to stop President Trump...perhaps they could find a plan for 2026....

But Donald Trump is the dictator!!!!! No, it's the federal judiciary and the Founding Fathers didn't rebel from King George III just so 250 years later - we are ruled by petty black robed tyrants.

This is the very scenario our Founders were concerned about - an all powerful judiciary. This unelected judge is costing the Florida taxpayers the millions of dollars spent building AA.
