Former President Barack Obama and former Attorney General Eric Holder released a video Thursday calling on supporters to back the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), warning that Republican-led redistricting efforts in states such as Texas, Florida, and Ohio threaten to undermine minority voting power and reshape congressional control ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. Obama appeared in a video message posted on X alongside Holder to rally support for the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), the group the two founded in 2017 to challenge GOP-led redistricting plans.

Bill Clinton is facing renewed questions about his health after he and his wife, Hillary, were spotted leaving the Hamptons this week with a portable defibrillator bag in tow — just two months after the 79-year-old former president was seen stumbling on a Big Apple sidewalk. The longtime Democratic power couple was photographed Thursday carrying what appeared to be a Propaq MD Air Medical Bag — a transport monitor and defibrillator commonly used in emergencies — as they boarded a private plane.

Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., called for the 25th Amendment to the Constitution to be used against President Donald Trump on Friday, suggesting he was unfit, during a discussion about his removal of Lisa Cook from the Federal Reserve's Board of Governors. "It is time to call for Article [Amendment] 25 of the Constitution of the United States of America to determine his unfitness, to determine that something’s wrong with this president. And I would suggest that we move very aggressively to talk about the danger to this country and to our democracy and not play around with this, because this is absolutely one of the most destructive things

It has been fully recognized since the November election that the Democratic Party has been hobbled more than a three-legged gelding, but things refuse to improve for that lot. Throughout this year, the party has seen its prospects withering across the board, whether it is in internal operations, public approval, voting efforts, fundraising, or media outreach.
And much like the condition of the national media industry, there is no desire exhibited by them to change what is not working. And this week it became even worse.
It was announced that the Bill Gates Foundation was suspending its monetary involvement with one of the primary non-profits affiliated with the Democratic Party.

A federal judge has blocked the Trump administration’s efforts to expand a fast-track deportation process, ruling that the broadened application of the sped-up process creates “a significant risk” that immigrants who may be entitled to stay in the U.S. will be hustled out of the country.
In a decision issued Friday evening, U.S. District Judge Jia Cobb granted a request by an immigrant advocacy group to put a hold on a pair of policies the administration issued in January that made millions more immigrants eligible for expulsion from the U.S. under a process known as “expedited removal.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi fired another Department of Justice paralegal Friday — after the environmental division employee flipped off a National Guard member on her way to work.
Elizabeth Baxter works in the same building as fellow fired paralegal Sean Charles Dunn, who allegedly threw a salami Subway sandwich at a Border Protection officer.
Baxter arrived for work at the DOJ’s “4CON” building in the NoMa district of Washington, DC, at 8.21 a.m. on Aug. 18, and boasted to a DOJ security guard that she had just made the obscene gesture to a guardsman at Metro Center Metro Stop and said, “F–k the National Guard,” according to Bondi.

Florida police have discovered how migrants who cannot speak English have been getting licenses to drive 18-wheelers on the nation’s highways.
With news breaking all across the country of major highway accidents that have killed Americans perpetrated by non-English speaking migrants behind the wheels of massive semi trucks, many have wondered how they could be getting their licenses. Investigators in Florida have discovered that one way is by using hidden cameras and ear pieces when they enter a drive’s license facility to take their commercial truck driving license (CDL) test, WTLV-TV reported.

Social media websites were ablaze Friday night with baseless wishcasting about how President Donald Trump may have quietly died, after the president had a relatively quiet few days and had nothing listed on his planned schedule for the weekend.
On Saturday morning, a photo was released showing Trump getting ready to play golf. By Saturday afternoon, the president made a Truth Social post that should qualify as proof of life and silence any remaining doubters, as he got back to his actual favorite pastime: Immiserating the contractors doing business with him.

Conservative activist Scott Presler is sounding the alarm for Republicans, warning that unless the party immediately changes its strategy, November could bring devastating losses.
In a late-night video, Presler said he wasn’t trying to spread doom and gloom, but reality. “I’m not here to bring you a happy video. I’m here to give you a dose of reality,” he began. "I'm here to tell you, Republicans are gonna lose everything this November unless we change things and quickly."
Presler pointed to three key battlegrounds—Virginia, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania—where Republicans are in danger of losing everything. “You’re gonna lose the governorship in Virginia and you’re gonna have a Democrat.

A Christian worship leader will hold a concert in Seattle this weekend, even as LGBTQ activists urge city leaders to revoke his permit. Sean Feucht, a Christian singer and conservative activist, is scheduled to bring his "Revive in ’25" tour to Gas Works Park on Saturday. Feucht rose to national prominence during the COVID lockdowns, when he launched his "Let Us Worship" movement protesting restrictions on religious gatherings. He has also faced criticism over the years for his support of President Donald Trump and his comments about the LGBTQ community. Earlier this month, eight Canadian cities revoked permits for Feucht’s

A 15-year-old boy with a rap sheet was arrested — while still wearing an ankle monitor — for a deadly shooting this week during an explosion of violence in The Bronx, police and sources said Friday. The teenager, identified by law-enforcement sources as Daniel Martinez, was charged with murder for the shooting death of Kelvin Mosquea, 34, outside NYCHA’s Sack Wern Houses Tuesday, authorities said. The broad daylight shooting is believed to have been the result of a robbery gone wrong, sources said – and added to a weeklong wave of gun violence for the Boogie Down

Three Scottish brothers set a world record Saturday for completing the fastest unsupported row across the full Pacific Ocean.
Jamie, Ewan and Lachlan Maclean completed the journey in 139 days, arriving in Cairns, Australia. They rowed over 9,000 miles non-stop from Peru, becoming the first team to achieve the full crossing from South America to Australia.
The trio from Edinburgh endured storms, seasickness, injuries and violent storms, including one that swept Lachlan overboard, while raising over £700,000 ($945,690) toward a £1 million ($1,350,450) target for clean water projects.
The three rowed into the Cairns Marlin Marina playing the bagpipes and waving the Scottish, Australian and United Kingdom flags.
