Minnesota Bishop Robert Barron sharply criticized Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey for dismissing calls for prayer following Wednesday’s deadly Catholic school shooting, calling the mayor’s remarks "completely asinine." "Catholics don’t think that prayer magically protects them from all suffering. After all, Jesus prayed fervently from the cross on which he was dying," Barron told Fox News Digital.

Muslims pray 5 times a day. Never hear a dem politician criticizing their prayers. As a matter of fact they seem to suck up to the muslims. But Christians? That's another story. I pray. Lots of us do. And lots of us don't. Your choice. But if you don't I have no plans to go on tv and ridicule you. I though dems were all about choice. I guess not.

We pray to a higher power than Democrats. Plus, they don't come ff so good in our assessments. Must be canceled.

#2, you are right on!
I pray for my soul that it is worthy of going to Heaven. I also pray for my relatives and friends, living and decease, that they are going to Heaven. The only reason the dems are slamming prayer is to mock Christians and are trying to convince people that God does not listen to prayers, so don't bother praying.
Seems everyday I have another thank you to God for me not being a dem!

If only we could return to expressing our own prayers rather than peeling off "thoughts and prayers" as sort of a generic covering of a base. A linguistic shortcut.

Lest anyone think I'm a Frey supporter I am not. He is a dreaedful little man who horribly mismanaged the George Floyd riots. His comment about prayer was iallous. But whedn that cliche is uttered it is so inadequate...

There are two reasons why the left has come out against prayer. Prayer unites, and the left has been hard at work dividing everyone. A divided enemy is more easily defeated. The last thing the left wants to see is people united against them. The name of our nation is the UNITED States. It's right there in our name. Our founding fathers saw something in it. We are stronger when united and don't ever forget that. The other reason is prayer is communication with the REAL God. Not some fake God the left makes itself out to be. They are scared to death when people pray because the left will be found out. What if 100 million people prayed for and end of violence? What if a billion people worldwide prayed for an end to violence. God might answer that prayer and people would be ready and united to accept that answer. Pray for an end of hatred and violence and see what happens. Something will happen.

It seems that prayer is all families have since Minnesota has made schools no-weapon zones making them very soft targets and refuse to provide any security.

Thank you Bishop Barron. I am almost afraid to go to Mass this Sunday. I don't own a firearm but if I did, I would take it with me.

Thank you Bishop Barron. Politics is the religion of the fools that run Minnesota. Walz, Frey, Ellison, care for no one but themselves and their power. Pathetic creatures all.

The mayor is up for re-election this year so has to placate his left-wing base. First he scolds anyone who notices the shooter was a Trans. Then he throws a bone to anti-Catholics who snicker at praying to God.

I read this and I think of the meme on Bishop (Saint) Nicholas. It reads:
I'm here to give gifts to good children and to punch heretics.
And I'm out of gifts.

To straighten the Minnesota politicians out, Maybe the new Pope should fly in and attend the mass and other services for the murdered children. That would certainly get the “whacked out” Democrat politicians attention.

One of the messages of Fatima was that the final battle of good vs evil would be over the family.
Minnesota seems to be on the front lines of the battle.
Dems ridicule religion because they don't worship God. Their gods are money and power.
