NEW YORK - A divided U.S. appeals court ruled on Friday that most of Donald Trump's tariffs are illegal, undercutting the Republican president's use of the levies as a key international economic policy tool.
The court allowed the tariffs to remain in place through October 14 to give the Trump administration a chance to file an appeal with the U.S. Supreme Court. Trump has made tariffs a pillar of U.S. foreign policy in his second term, using them to exert political pressure and renegotiate trade deals with countries that export goods to the United States.
The tariffs have given the Trump administration leverage to extract economic concessions

Was just listening to Mark Levin's reaction to this. This will rocket-docket to the Supreme Court, and Levin fully expects the SC to toss out the lower court's decision. Levin also notes that Congress has, for many decades, been deferring legislative branch authority to Congressionally-created Executive branch agencies and also given them such wide regulatory latitude that their "rules" are treated like law, even though Congress didn't pass them. So this court is really on shaky ground with its decision.

Democrats just cannot stand to see any successful move by Donald Trump.
They do not care if their treachery is harmful to the United States.
That is a proven fact.

Stop the insanity. Other Presidents enacted tariffs, and nobody batted an eye. It's politics 24x7x365. This is what happens when a government plays politics instead of governing.

Trump should announce that he's going to "pack" the Supreme Court - just to watch Dem heads explode. :-)

This was not an issue with the appeals court until it became obvious that the tariffs were effective in boosting the American economy. Must not give Trump a win.

The “democratics” are at it again! They must stay up nites looking for ways to stop PRESIDENT Trump! John Adams, the second president , had tariffs for every product from every country that came into the USA. He was a Federalist and kept the government running by implementing tariffs. Which kept manufacturing and farming in this country. Tell the judge to go after John Adams. It’s only fair.

The constitution grants the power of tariffs to the Congress, not the President...BUT, congress's long ago officially delegated much of that power to the President themselves, there are multiple congressional acts and subsequent Supreme court cases that affirm that delegation, and set parameters for it's use. Trumps people cited multiple precedents on EVERY single Tariff move and motion, as they were being done, and produced the required "Investigations and Opinions" from the required agencies prior to implementation. Congress can "Claw back" sole control, legislatively(though they will not), but prior supreme court rulings already affirmed prior presidents usage in the same or similar ways, at least one recent supreme court case affirmed TRUMPS right to do so... Key in the kerfuffle is...."Permanent vs Temporary", Trumps actions are all Temporary, by design, just as the Laws/Rules consistently support and/or require. When under the pressure or threat of Trumps tariffs nations even the unequal playing field, balance their tariffs with ours, and remove unfair support for their industry's as well as roadblocks against ours...New lower rates are agreed to and implemented.
Trump has better economists, statecraft players, and LAWYERS than all of those out to thwart him.

Maybe these Judges need to REALLY READ Article II of the Constitution. Then read Article III, Judicial Power, where NOTHING is said about Courts overturning Executive Actions!
