Expect Putin to pay big-time for trolling Trump

We expect Russia’s Vladimir Putin and his top minions to soon regret their decision to make a fool of President Donald Trump.
At their Alaska summit, Putin gave Trump renewed hope for a peace deal on the Ukraine war — but that’s now looking like Lucy setting up Charlie Brown for another football humiliation.
After initially signaling openness to a meet, Sergey Lavrov, Putin’s foreign secretary, just dumped yet more cold water on any chance for a Putin sitdown with Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky.
Bloviating on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Lavrov announced, “There is no meeting planned,” and none will happen without advance agreement that fits Putin’s “presidential agenda.”

FTA - "The Russian plainly thinks he’ll get away with humiliating the leader of the Free World; it won’t be pretty when Trump finally moves to dispel that delusion."
Let's see what Trump has in mind. We'll know soon. Sleep tight, Putie.

Cut off Putin's customers and drive the price of oil down.
Russia's economy will come to a stop.

I am done with the Post. It is near impossible to actually read one of their articles with the adds blocking out every thing. You get half way through a paragraph and wham the whole page is blocked by an add. Then you can’t get rid of the add and if you do then another one pops right up.
See you later I am done with it.

I don't think it's trolling at all. Putin went in with some expectations and Zelenskyy was his usual stubborn as an old tree stump self. Trump did his best and now needs to let the pot simmer for a while as the Euroweenies muck it up.

I don't think Putin trolled Trump. I will form my own views without the NY Post, or Lavrov, who is a bureaucrat that has forever survived, because he essentially says nothing.

Same old, Same Old. Russian, Soviet, whatever. In the days of the Soviet Union, the Soviets would negotiate a deal with the US. When it came to sign the treaty, the Soviets would add at least one more demand, hoping the US would cave in favor of having a treaty. That worked too many times.
Now, it looks like Putin is cut from the same cloth as the Soviet leadership. I think it's time for President Trump to pull out a pair of virtual scissors and cut Putin's cloth into such tiny pieces there is no chance to sew them back together.
I'm waiting with bated breath to see what PDJT 2.0 does. I'm sure it will be a doozy!

Anyone who thinks they've beaten President Trump is in for an awaking...remember how crooked hillary was so sure of winning the presidency in 2016...she had the numbers cooked and she was gonna win..even bought fireworks for the celebration,,,which President Trump bought...10 cents on the dollar...then I knew...I had voted for the best/right man....

The news this morning is that the Pentagon is protecting Russia. THey won't let Ukraine defended itself with long range missiles.

Putin is dealing with Trump not Biden. That is like Hitler thinking he was dealing with Chamberlain rather than Churchill.

Lots of Putin sympathizers on this site like to use the bromide "Don't poke the bear" when referring to Russia. News flash for them: The bear has an orange mane. And he talks like a New Yorker.

Why does the NY Post think Putin played Trump? More likely Trump thinks the meeting went exactly the way he thought it would. Trump played the role of gracious host, said some nice words, and that was it. The world saw first hand that Putin isn't serious about peace. Putin thinks Russia can keep everything it took by force. Trump will make sure the penalties far outweigh any benefit, but Russia will likely keep those lands regardless.

Russia only has one commodity to sell: oil. Their production methods are inefficient and costly. If Trump can embargo their oil, and place punitive tariffs on all the countries that buy it, the Russian economy will grind to a halt - and, along with it, the Russian war machine.
Russia is essentially a third-world country; as someone put it long ago, it’s “Malaysia with missiles.” It shouldn’t be too hard to deal with.

Meet the Press is a propaganda outlet, not a news source. Like #7 said its just how Commies deal but Trump is the guy holding the cards. Its just how painful will Trump have to make it for Putin before he cuts a deal.

I am not certain Putin is in complete control in Russia. He hints at things but seldom delivers. He doesn’t act with support from the populace and has to kill off his opposition. We will see.

The NY Post appears to be trolling its readers, using Putin as a pretext for calling Trump a fool.

#10, long range missiles are offensive weapons for Ukraine. We don't like either side to kill civilians.
