A video of Colombian singer Maluma has gone viral, showing the artist stopping his concert over the weekend to scold a fan who brought a toddler to his show without ear protection. "Do you think it's a good idea to bring a 1-year-old baby to a concert where the decibels are this f------ high?" the 31-year-old says in Spanish in the video. "That baby doesn't even know what they're doing here. Next time, protect their ears or something. For real." Maluma, who is a parent to a 1-year-old daughter with partner Susana Gómez, continued, "It's your responsibility.

Not okay for a baby but fine for teens and adults, huh? That's about the stupidest logic I've ever heard! At least 99.9% of concerts are much too much louder than they need to be!

Babies will suffer more long-term damage. For one thing, adults can control their exposure better, by covering their ears effectively, leaving, taking a break, and/or wearing earplugs. Mamy adults in those venues wear earplugs, as do many of the performers.

Most concert venues in US give earplugs away on request. Babies shouldn't be at those events, or at least would have earmuffs

At the big Oshkosh airshow a few weeks ago, I saw, for the first time, a number of infants with elastic banded earmuff type hearing protectors, sleeping in mother's arms during a LOUD jet demo. How loud? Loud enough that without ear plugs you would immediately, reflexively slam your hands over your ears. VERY, VERY load....those were the F-22 and F-35 flight demos. Impressive but mind bogglingly loud. I used to think the old Phantom was a loud aircraft, especially in afterburner....nope, these new jets have them beat for noise by a lot. Glad to see parents protecting their kids ears. Of course, lots of the young folks that I talk to in fast food joints have trouble hearing me...probably too many concerts for hours at 150 dB.

Ph.D. Developmental Psychologist, previously a child myself and mother of two. No baby wants to be at any sort of chaos, with loud noises, flashing lights, screaming etc. Infant nervous systems are not designed to handle much stimulation. In fact, they are not designed to do anything other than what they do if properly cared for: Sleep, eat, be comfortable and snug, engage in interaction with familiar people, listen and respond to gentle tones of voice, learn to smile and enjoy the warmth and smell of their mothers. Being taken to a rock show and "being waved around like a toy" (which is what the singer saw himself and said) is child abuse. BTW a lesser level of abuse is taking a baby to Disneyworld type things. If a child is too young to walk and to speak in a sentence, he or she is too young to enjoy being rolled around looking at strange people's knees, exposed to way too much direct sunlight. It's misery and no wonder all those babies are crying their little hearts out when you see them. Just stop it! Leave them where they want to be, not where you want to go.

The high ground has always held strategic and tactical importance—from mountaintops in ancient battles to the orbital vantage points of today. China and Russia are rapidly accelerating their space and lunar ambitions. Both are seeking scientific, economic, and national security breakthroughs that could shift the balance of power on Earth. The President’s budget calls for an eventual pivot away from NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS)—leaving the heavy-lift rocket business to a capable commercial industry. That pivot should be toward something no other agency, organization, or company is capable of accomplishing: building a fleet of nuclear-electric-powered spaceships and extending America’s reach in the ultimate high ground of space.

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is rolling out a new ad tying the policies of "radical" Democrats, like New York City socialist mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, to the future outlook of the Democratic Party. The new message, targeting 25 vulnerable House Democrats across the country with a modest ad buy on digital platforms, hammers the party on "Project 2026" and outlines what the Republicans say Democrats will offer voters in the midterms. "Hakeem Jeffries’ plan to remake America," the ad says. "Raise taxes on working families, impeach President Trump."

The last thing I heard before my ears started ringing was my left turn signal clicking. I was stopped at a red light on a Saturday afternoon, waiting to glide into my parking lot near the Waterfront Metro stop in Washington, DC when a loud crack suddenly deafened me. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a bullet-sized wound in my windshield. It wasn’t a windy day, and no cars had been passing by to kick a loose stone up at my beloved Camry, so it only took me only a half-second to realize what had happened. When the fight or flight kicked in, I briefly

A federal appeals court voted 2-1 on Wednesday to lift an order requiring the Trump administration to resume billions of dollars in foreign aid payments. The divided U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit panel found a lower judge erred when he restored the flow of funds in March. Two groups of grant recipients sued over allegations the cancellations infringe on the separation of powers since Congress had appropriated the money, but the panel ruled they can’t bring such a claim.

Molecular biologist Mike Rossner, who has committed his life to following the science, now finds himself playing an unexpected if urgent role – exposing the fraud of his fellow scientists. Rossner is part of a network of experts that sniff out researchers who intentionally or recklessly fabricate, falsify, or plagiarize evidence. Rossner, a consultant specializing in identifying manipulated and duplicated images in journal papers – a telltale sign of deceit – has been dismayed by his findings at U.S. research centers. Scientists often have deleted the data underlying the images, making misconduct harder to prove and casting doubt on the validity of the research.

Putin has decided to talk peace with Trump while he dominates the battlefield in eastern Ukraine. His troops are closing in on Donetsk’s main urban centers, whose capture would give him total control of Donbas, where he already fully occupies the province of Luhansk. But it could be looking to get the best deal possible while he is ahead. The prolonged sieges and intense urban warfare that capturing Donetsk’s cities of Kramatorsk, Kostyantynivka, and Sloviansk with a combined population of one quarter million and fortified by Ukrainian military engineers during months, risks dangerously overstretching his army and straining Russia’s overheated economy, whose oil revenues have dropped by 18.5 percent,

The Democratic Party is hideously unpopular heading into next year's midterms. This is a problem for the small faction of Democrats who think the party should prioritize winning elections over throwing performative tantrums and other theater kid nonsense. It's less of a problem for the Democrats who are actually leading the party right now and setting the agenda for 2026. They are loud, obnoxious, profane, and passionate in their defense of illegal immigrants and other criminals. Rules? They don't believe in rules.

At its best, Washington, DC, is a city of grandeur, of iconic monuments and world historical centers of power. At its worst, it’s a harrowing place where a 14-year-old could steal your Hyundai. The confluence of these two truths in the terrible early-morning beating of the DOGE employee Edward Coristine, known by his sobriquet “Big Balls,” has prompted President Trump to federalize the DC police and deploy the National Guard.

By all accounts, even those of liberal media outlets, the Democratic National Committee is broke. Under the leadership of chairman Ken Martin, the DNC is facing a full-blown financial crisis. But how did it come to this? Well, donor flight is one part of the answer. Since President Trump and J.D. Vance took office in a historic victory, the DNC's once-reliable donor class has slammed the brakes on contributions. But the bigger story, and one the mainstream press won't touch, is that a critical pipeline of cash has been shut off: the massive taxpayer-funded slush fund known as USAID.
