Fraud Hunters: Sniffing Out Bogus Science

Molecular biologist Mike Rossner, who has committed his life to following the science, now finds himself playing an unexpected if urgent role – exposing the fraud of his fellow scientists. Rossner is part of a network of experts that sniff out researchers who intentionally or recklessly fabricate, falsify, or plagiarize evidence. Rossner, a consultant specializing in identifying manipulated and duplicated images in journal papers – a telltale sign of deceit – has been dismayed by his findings at U.S. research centers. Scientists often have deleted the data underlying the images, making misconduct harder to prove and casting doubt on the validity of the research.

A long time friend was a cellular biology prof at a state university, doing funded research for over thirty years. His told me that in the very competitive world of scientific research, 90% of the grant proposals submitted each year will not get funded. Publish or perish is real in academia. Tremendous pressure on the second rate scientists to cheat. He said that since MMGW was a politically hot topic, it attracted the lowest grade of scientists, the ones who could publish bogus research results which wouldn't be show to be wrong until they were retired or dead. And funding would be given for political reasons, regardless of the quality of the work. Cellular biology can be proven or disproven in a few years, but garbage climate research can slide by for decades, even if entirely false. The corrupt and fraudulent prof who invented the "hockey stick" temperature curve got millions of dollars and decades of fame from his lies. He nearly crushed Mark Steyn under a lawsuit, but was eventually shown to be a fraud. Bur, AFAIK, he still is a tenured professor, even though he's a total fraud.

It seems that most foundations and grants today fund research to prove their hypothesis (Global warming) and are paid to find data that proves what they are funded for. Any data that disproves their hypothesis is ignored or discarded. Anyone who might challenge their finding are challenged as "denying the irrefutable data" when the only data presented was the data showing what they wanted to prove. This is junk science, not real science. Unfortunately, these scientists know that they must give their funders what they want or they will lose their money and jobs.

Vulnerable Democrats hammered with scathing

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is rolling out a new ad tying the policies of "radical" Democrats, like New York City socialist mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, to the future outlook of the Democratic Party. The new message, targeting 25 vulnerable House Democrats across the country with a modest ad buy on digital platforms, hammers the party on "Project 2026" and outlines what the Republicans say Democrats will offer voters in the midterms. "Hakeem Jeffries’ plan to remake America," the ad says. "Raise taxes on working families, impeach President Trump."

The last thing I heard before my ears started ringing was my left turn signal clicking. I was stopped at a red light on a Saturday afternoon, waiting to glide into my parking lot near the Waterfront Metro stop in Washington, DC when a loud crack suddenly deafened me. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a bullet-sized wound in my windshield. It wasn’t a windy day, and no cars had been passing by to kick a loose stone up at my beloved Camry, so it only took me only a half-second to realize what had happened. When the fight or flight kicked in, I briefly

A federal appeals court voted 2-1 on Wednesday to lift an order requiring the Trump administration to resume billions of dollars in foreign aid payments. The divided U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit panel found a lower judge erred when he restored the flow of funds in March. Two groups of grant recipients sued over allegations the cancellations infringe on the separation of powers since Congress had appropriated the money, but the panel ruled they can’t bring such a claim.

A video of Colombian singer Maluma has gone viral, showing the artist stopping his concert over the weekend to scold a fan who brought a toddler to his show without ear protection. "Do you think it's a good idea to bring a 1-year-old baby to a concert where the decibels are this f------ high?" the 31-year-old says in Spanish in the video. "That baby doesn't even know what they're doing here. Next time, protect their ears or something. For real." Maluma, who is a parent to a 1-year-old daughter with partner Susana Gómez, continued, "It's your responsibility.

Putin has decided to talk peace with Trump while he dominates the battlefield in eastern Ukraine. His troops are closing in on Donetsk’s main urban centers, whose capture would give him total control of Donbas, where he already fully occupies the province of Luhansk. But it could be looking to get the best deal possible while he is ahead. The prolonged sieges and intense urban warfare that capturing Donetsk’s cities of Kramatorsk, Kostyantynivka, and Sloviansk with a combined population of one quarter million and fortified by Ukrainian military engineers during months, risks dangerously overstretching his army and straining Russia’s overheated economy, whose oil revenues have dropped by 18.5 percent,

The Democratic Party is hideously unpopular heading into next year's midterms. This is a problem for the small faction of Democrats who think the party should prioritize winning elections over throwing performative tantrums and other theater kid nonsense. It's less of a problem for the Democrats who are actually leading the party right now and setting the agenda for 2026. They are loud, obnoxious, profane, and passionate in their defense of illegal immigrants and other criminals. Rules? They don't believe in rules.

At its best, Washington, DC, is a city of grandeur, of iconic monuments and world historical centers of power. At its worst, it’s a harrowing place where a 14-year-old could steal your Hyundai. The confluence of these two truths in the terrible early-morning beating of the DOGE employee Edward Coristine, known by his sobriquet “Big Balls,” has prompted President Trump to federalize the DC police and deploy the National Guard.

CNN host Abby Phillip compared President Donald Trump to Batman on Monday night while criticizing his efforts to clean up crime in Washington, D.C. However, social media users thought the comparison made Trump look "cool." During the intro to CNN's "NewsNight," Phillip mocked Trump as the "crime-fighter-in-chief" of the nation's capital and compared him to the comic book character after the president's announcement earlier in the day that the federal government would be cleaning up crime in the city.

When 10 juveniles brutally attacked former DOGE whiz kid Edward Coristine – nicknamed “Big Balls” – in an attempted carjacking that left him bloodied, Washington, D.C.’s violent crime rate exploded into a political flashpoint. President Trump’s decision to federalize the D.C. police and bring in FBI agents and the National Guard to fight crime has upset liberals who attack it as “unnecessary” and the media who fact check Trump’s statements on crime as false. “I’m going to make our Capital safer and more beautiful than it ever was before,” President Trump vowed on Truth Social. “The criminals – you don’t have to move out. As a part of the White House press pool, I crammed into a frigid van on Saturday morning, toward the back of President Trump’s motorcade en route to his Virginia golf course. We passed a grimy tent encampment on our way out of the city, and I wondered to myself whether Trump was peering out the window. My question seemed to be answered the following day. On Truth Social, the president posted pictures likely taken from the motorcade that morning or the next, as he returned for another round of golf. Alongside images of roadside tents and trash, Trump wrote, “We’re having a News Conference tomorrow in the White House.

Last Tuesday, President Trump threatened a federal takeover of Washington, D.C., after a DOGE employee was beaten up when he faced down a bunch of carjacking thugs. “If D.C. doesn’t get its act together, and quickly, we will have no choice but to take Federal control of the City, and run this City how it should be run,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. Trump’s options are limited, and a full-scale takeover would require an act of Congress. It is also probably dependent on how well it would be received by D.C. residents.

Can you imagine what a victory it would be for all Americans if, merely through his successful leadership, President Trump were able to get the basement-rated Jimmy Kimmel to self-deport? We already have a partial victory based solely on the fact that the Late Night elitist is putting the pieces in place to make it happen. Former comedian Jimmy Kimmel was a guest on former comedienne Sarah Silverman’s podcast on Friday, and the two of them discussed fleeing the country due to Trump. “A lot of people I know are thinking about where are they going to get citizenship?” Silverman said. Kimmel then broke this glorious news: “I did get Italian citizenship.”

"Nice city you have here — it would be a shame if something were to happen to it." Something bad is about to happen to New York City. Maybe I'm wrong. I hope I'm wrong. The greatest city in the world deserves something better than a commie-racist/nepo-red-diaper-baby like Zohran Mamdani as its mayor. But recent news has me convinced that the commie-racist/nepo-red-diaper-baby will be the city's next mayor. President Donald Trump called Mamdani a "communist lunatic" back in June, and he isn't wrong. Every time some old social media post of the Democrat mayoral nominee resurfaces, he's boasting that "the end goal is seizing the means of production," complaining that capitalism is theft,

That's a very polite way of saying they failed miserably. ABC13 has confirmed with multiple sources that House Democrats will return to Texas.
