The Trump administration is weighing the sale of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac shares in an offering that could begin as early as this year. Plans under discussion call for selling between 5% and 15% of their stock, with the two government-controlled mortgage giants valued at more than $500 billion. The transaction could raise around $30 billion, potentially making it the largest IPO in history. In recent weeks, the CEOs of Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America met with President Trump in Washington to discuss the proposal. President Donald Trump and his team are reportedly preparing to sell shares of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which are government-backed companies that support the housing market by making home loans more stable and affordable.[snip] Trump and his economic team are now looking to sell off some of the government’s shares in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, a process often called “privatization” or “stock sale.” The move is considered historic because it would mark a significant step toward returning these mortgage giants to private ownership after years under federal control.

In the charred aftermath of Malibu’s January wildfires, one buyer has been moving in silence. While much of La Costa Beach remains a barren stretch of sand, a foreign investor has quietly acquired nine oceanfront lots — spending more than $65 million to secure some of the most coveted parcels along the Pacific Coast Highway, according to Realtor.com. Working through luxury agents Weston Littlefield and Alex Howe of the Weston James Group, the buyer is targeting properties with at least 40 feet of frontage, betting that once the coastline is rebuilt, demand from wealthy buyers will return in force.

WASHINGTON — President Trump appointed one of his top economic advisers to serve on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors Thursday — after months of pressuring Fed Chairman Jerome Powell to resign or demanding the board stage a coup to lower interest rates. Conservative commentator Mark Levin explained on Fox News Tuesday how errors by the U.S. Census Bureau in 2020 unfairly tilted the political landscape, costing Republicans critical congressional seats. The U.S. Census Bureau admitted in 2022 that it significantly miscounted the population in over a quarter of U.S. states during the 2020 census, affecting the allocation of House seats and Electoral College votes.[snip] Levin said states like Florida, which should have gained two seats, and Texas, which was denied one, were unfairly affected, while states like Rhode Island retained seats due to the Census Bureau’s mistakes.

What’s slammed the brakes on that juggernaut is central planning that revolves around the whole Green New Deal theory. Other European countries are doing the same. Spain and Portugal had a catastrophic power outage thanks to their green energy policies, and, in England, people are getting cold and dirty in a very 19th-century way because of the UK’s drive for “Net Zero.” Had Kamala been elected last year, America would almost certainly have gone down that path, too.
