Holder: ‘No Factual Basis’ for Trump
Administrations Investigations into Dems

Former Attorney General Eric Holder said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that there was “no factual basis” for the Trump administration’s investigations into high-profile Democrats. Host Kristen Welker said, “President Trump has launched investigations into many of his perceived political foes, including former President Barack Obama and New York Attorney General Letitia James, Democratic Senator Adam Schiff. I’m naming just a few of the people you have described this as the, quote, weaponization of the Justice Department, which is, by the way, the same criticism President Trump has made about the DOJ under former President Biden. So let me ask you about that.

Comments:

Sounds to me like the famous Mexican gun runner is a little nervous about something!! Hope he has a good attorney on fast dial!!

Holder has unwittingly furnished Congressional Republicans a chance to give him an Alinsky-style ridicule beatdown. Since he was *not* the AG from 2015 forward (Loretta Lynch was), he cannot assert executive privilege when questioned about events from 2015-17. Yet he's flapping his gums with certitude about events that happened then. Fine. Subpoena him to appear and testify. He can't dodge it without the real threat of imprisonment, and when he testifies, he's most likely to put on a Comeyesque or Clintonesque amnesia act under oath. No matter. If he's too stupid to recall anything, then why would anyone needing lobbying services rely upon his law firm? Seems like a good way to ease him into early retirement.

“No one is above the law” was the favorite refrain of Democrats as they pursued Donald Trump up hill and down dale in an effort to destroy his first presidency and ensure he could never serve again. They threw everything at him, manufacturing intelligence to frame him as a Russian stooge, weaponizing the FBI and DOJ against him, impeaching him, siccing the most unscrupulous prosecutors on him, contriving spurious civil cases against him and his family, trying to jail him and bankrupt him, all the while lying and assassinating his character. If that didn’t bring him down, two assassination attempts would have finished off a lesser mortal.

Consider the outrageous prosecution of Douglass Mackey. The Biden Justice Department went after him for tweeting a joke that Hillary supporters could vote by text in 2016. It was telling that he was indicted four years after the tweet, just days after Joe Biden's inauguration in 2021. The Second Circuit Court of Appeals reversed his ridiculous conviction this year because “no rational jury” could have found him guilty.
