Why Is Powell Clinging to His Job?

Original Article

Posted By: Moritz55, 8/2/2025 7:03:00 PM

Why is the Fed chairman, Jerome Powell, stubbornly clinging to his high interest rate policy? Indeed — why is Mr. Powell clinging to his job? A Federal Reserve governor, Adriana Kuegler, just announced her resignation today, effective August 8. I believe President Trump can actually name his own governor to replace her — and then appoint that person as chairman of the Fed. Subject to Senate confirmation. There are rumors that another Fed governor — Michael Barr — is about to resign, giving Mr. Trump another option.

It's not his job he is worried abt. He wants to delay Trump's agenda so Trump cannot gain more seats in the midterm. Powell is a traitor to the American people. Put him against a wall.

Why, because he has a much more damage to do the the republic, isn't it obvious. There's an economy to crush.

FTA...'Why is the Fed chairman, Jerome Powell, stubbornly clinging to his high interest rate policy?' Would have been nice if Mr. Kudlow said why HE thinks Powell won't lower interest rates. As with other posters here so far, I believe it's because he will do everything in his power to keep President Trump from success.

Money, power and the favor of the big banks. No government position is neutral. Powell is hamstringing the real estate industry and the millions of potential homeowners who want to move and change jobs.

From everything I can see, Jerome Powell, like most Democrats, simply wishes to cling to power. It's a heady experience being able to summon a USAF Gulfstream jet to fly to Europe for a two-week "fact-finding" mission prior to a cabinet discussion, or to order this or that person to do one's bidding of the moment. He will be quickly forgotten, like so many others.

I heard some commentator on a Fox Business show recently say that Powell has an estimated net worth of $200 Million - so what does he care about interest rates. Our credit cards and mortgage rates keep going higher but how much does your bank give you on your savings or CD? If you're lucky, 2%. And one more thing, Trump should tell Powell that the Fed Reserve is part of the federal government, it may be an independent agency but get onboard and do what the other agencies are doing: cutting their staffs, eliminating unnecessary spending and getting rid of/consolidating office space. The last office building I worked in before retirement was a former parking garage located in the L'Enfant area of DC - nothing fancy or nice about that building. Certainly no marble staircases or whatever they're doing at the Fed Building on Constitution Avenue.

Texas GOP's new map would move Rep. Crockett’s

A gerrymandered map proposed by the Texas GOP would kick firebrand Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett out of her own district and likely add more House seats to the Lone Star's Republican delegation. Last week, Texas House Republicans introduced a redistricting proposal that could net five new GOP seats. The draft congressional map, which is likely to change before approval by both state legislative chambers, aims to redraw district lines to include more Republican-leaning areas in Democratic strongholds like Dallas and Houston. Crockett, who serves Texas’ 30th Congressional District, which represents a large part of Dallas, has called the redistricting effort "a power grab to silence voters."

Ukraine's military says it has hit key infrastructure inside Russia, including a significant oil refinery. Kyiv also says it struck a military airfield used for drones and an electronics factory. A fire that broke out near the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant after Ukrainian shelling has been brought under control, according to Russian authorities. Meanwhile, the New York Times has reported that Indian government sources have revealed there are no plans to stop buying oil from Russia. This is despite US President Donald Trump's threats to impose penalties on India.

Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn will soon introduce a trio of bills to counter the malign influence of foreign adversaries stateside and cement actions already taken by the Trump administration, RealClearPolitics is first to report. The first bill would ban the purchase of “agricultural land” by any foreign individuals or businesses associated with an adversarial country. Chinese interests already own as much as 370,000 acres of farmland, according to one estimate, some of it near U.S. military bases. Fueling the bipartisan concern: fears that proximity to those sensitive installations could make them prone to drone attack or surveillance.

Predictably, the New York Times pooh-poohed the release of the classified annex to the Durham report. Charlie Savage wrote: Kash Patel, the F.B.I. director, and other Trump allies have declared that a newly declassified report on the Russia investigation provides “evidence that the Clinton campaign plotted to frame President Trump and fabricate the Russia collusion hoax.” The reality is almost precisely the opposite… The report shows that a purported email that Trump supporters have long tried to portray as a smoking gun is instead most likely a fake. Russian spies appear to have tried to make it seem authentic by assembling passages lifted from actual emails by different hacking victims…

For 150 years, Presidents, Administrations, and White House Staff have longed for a large event space on the White House complex that can hold substantially more guests than currently allowed. President Donald J. Trump has expressed his commitment to solving this problem on behalf of future Administrations and the American people. The White House is one of the most beautiful and historic buildings in the world, yet the White House is currently unable to host major functions honoring world leaders and other countries without having to install a large and unsightly tent approximately 100 yards away from the main building entrance.

I just got back from Salt Lake, where I took my kids to Wheeler Farm in Murray, Utah. Originally homesteaded in the late 1800’s, the 75-acre property was preserved and turned over to Salt Lake County in the 1970’s. It was jarring, in the best way, to see a public space so well-run. Admission is free. Kids walk right up to cows, goats, sheep, and chickens. They climb on old tractors, go on wagon rides, race through open fields. After a busy morning, we bought $2 Uncrustables and $1.50 popsicles from the gift shop and sat for lunch.

Why did Kamala Harris take a pass on running for governor in California? It's not because she's aiming at another presidential run in 2028, Harris told Stephen Colbert. It's because she finally lost an election. No, seriously. "I don't want to back into the system," she explains, "because the system is broken." And if you think that's absurd, Colbert manages to top it: Ahem. If anyone has reason for gratitude toward "the system," it's Harris. She is and has always been an intellectual lightweight who counted on "the system" to keep her in office. It was the Democrat establishment that ensured she kept winning

She commanded dozens, if not hundreds, of willing participants, including the George Soros foundation, President Barack Obama, the FBI, the weaponized intelligence agencies, and others, to bring Donald to his knees.Buried deep in the latest tranche of declassified documents called the Durham annex report, however, a deep state hawk has found something that is equally or more evil than changing intelligence to manipulate one election's outcome.
