Maine Representative Deqa Dhalac (D), a Somali immigrant turned state legislator, recently stirred controversy by declaring that her priority is developing “our country of Somalia” rather than serving American interests. Dhalac’s admission exposes a troubling allegiance to foreign priorities at a time of growing concern over immigrant loyalty and national identity. During a recent appearance on ABC News, Dhalac faced some questioning about her intent, and others defending her focus on supporting global communities while serving locally. Electeds who prioritize other nations over the US are unworthy "leaders." Americans deserve to come first in their own country, as they receive no benefit from importing poverty and ingratitude into their communities. Our country is the United States of America. Citizens owe it to themselves to call out politicians who seek to empower themselves by making a point of NOT serving their actual constituents. It doesn't matter if the person is new to America, or like Nancy Pelosi, has a long history of holding office and claiming "Diversity is our strength" while facilitating the mass importation of poverty. Electeds, imported or home grown, who place burdens on US citizens by redistribution of their wealth are not in office to help Americans. We owe such politicians nothing.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) is a barrel of laughs. She’s feisty and doesn’t take any crap from the GOP. She’s perfectly willing to allow her detractors to view her as mentally ill. She’s ready to deliver haymakers—the problem is that her trainer is trash. The Atlantic did a lengthy profile piece on the Democratic congresswoman, some of which is run-of-the-mill Americana: she was educated privately, reportedly subjected to racism in college, got interested in the law because of those incidents, and went about building her profile by defending Black Lives Matter defendants. She had a brief stint in the Texas legislature before sharking her way up to Congress.
