The Simpsons creator Matt Groening sees a moment sometime in the cartooning future when “kids across America will liberate their Republican parents from the cult of MAGA” adding “Here’s how to do it. Delete Fox News.”
Variety reports Groening made his forecast while musing on future content for shows of the Emmy-winning production and how they may meld into reality and predict the future, saying:
The Simpsons’ predicts kids across America will liberate their Republican parents from the cult of MAGA. And here’s how you do it. Grab the TV remote, go to menu, go to controls, vertical controls, look for channel list and delete Fox News.

Actually, the recent election and subsequent polls showed a significant shift among young people TOWARD MAGA. So, looks like Bart Simpson and kids across America are liberating their Democrat parents from the cult of Woke. As Bart would say, "Duhhhh!"

I strayed away from FNC when they were getting pro 0bachma. Then when they got openly anti-Trump I stopped watching all together. But Groeny probably just boosted FNC's ratings.

And the parents, who OWN the TV and PAID for the cable hookups, will reprogram the remote to access Fox News and delete “The Simpsons.”

The vast majority of the younger folks I know are more conservative than any other generation I've seen. This matches with national polls. They were the victims of liberal insanity for most of their lives. From being starved by Michelle Obama's interference in school lunches, being told boys are evil, allowing perverts in the girls' restrooms and changing rooms, letting loser males beat up females in sports, being told there were a gazillion genders and you're all kinds of -ists if you disagreed, having schools and communities invaded by illegals, allowing blacks to attack them without consequences, having the schooling upset by shutdowns ... That list is only a portion of it.

In other words, Fox News is giving viewers information that influences their opinions in a way the typical MSM narratives do not. For example, when the MSM was pushing the Russia Hoax, skeptical adults rejected the notion peddled by the "Steele Dossier" and repeated endlessly by the MSM, of prostitutes peeing on a hotel bed because the Obamas once slept on it. And on January 6, another preposterous idea was repeated to blame Donald Trump for an "insurrection" that involved busloads of masked agitators carrying climbing and communication equipment all arriving at the Capitol grounds at the same time. Adults realized delivering thousands of people to the scene of the "insurrection" would have taken a great deal of recruiting, organizing, and money to pull off. Where did they stay? Who fed them? Likewise, adults couldn't help but notice the MSM to this day has failed to investigate the run around given to Steven Sund as he tried to bring more help in to stop the rioting. Reasonable people concluded that rioting was guaranteed, when resources to put it down were denied to Mr. Sund, and earlier to President Trump.

The Simpsons, Family Guy American Dad and South Park have all veered further and further left over the years. So far, it hasn't been egregious enough for me to change the station.
Well..... . I did have to turn off this week's episode of South Park. I made it thru the first 5 minutes.

I did enjoy the Simpsons for a few years. Then when 9/11 happened, at the end of the episode filmed after that date, he played the national anthem of Canada. That bothered me. A lot. Plus he'd gotten political. Never watched another one.

What’s more likely to happen is for South Park to skewer the pretentious Left like they did with “The Prince and Princess of Canada” (among others). I wonder if Matt Groening figured that into his calculations.

So instead of fixing what is wrong with the Democrat party, just eliminate the one network that still has some conservative news that isn't slanted anti-Trump. Hope it backfires big time.

If we eliminate a different opinion or point of view, especially if it is one we don't agree with, we can get rid of the fascists. Or something.

He flatters himself. How many kids enjoy the same entertainment as their parents? My grandparents didn't like my parents idea of entertainment anymore than my parents liked mine nor I cared for my kids'. I never hear my kids nor grandkids talk about those obnoxious 'toons which I found distasteful.
They will die with a few babyboomers and genX and eventually bust become late evening nostalgic geriatric reruns like Barney Miller and M*A*S*H*

Or not. My kid has come a very long way on her own once I got her out of California.
I've put no effort into influencing her world view. Simply not having leftist nonsense shoved in her face every day was enough for the effects to fade and common sense take over.
He has two kids which I'll assume were never freed from daily leftist nonsense so didn't have a chance to recover.

Anyone who thinks Fox News is "MAGA" is living in the distant past. Oh, there maybe a couple of people there that are slightly MAGA leaning, but the vast majority are at best 'Establishmentarians' and a lot of them thinly disguised 'progressives'.
Maybe Groening and his writers should call it a good long run and shut down their operations before they all become 'Sideshow Bobs'.

Self-awareness certainly isn't a trait Groening seems to possess in any quantity. One might think he'd see what happened to the late-night comedians who decided to become earnest political tarts and take that a flashing sign of danger for his own work. And one would be wrong. My guess is people will increasingly tune out of The Simpsons and we'll be able to put this cartoon that's past its expiration date where it belongs -- in the ash heap of history.

Interesting. I don't watch Fox News or any broadcast TV. I read Fox News for the state of the world. Meanwhile, I sample from the internet. It's pretty easy to figure out which side to favor, which is the side that doesn't seem to rely on hate.

Groening pokes at both sides of the political spectrum, that is what makes comedians successful if they edge into politics. They tick off both sides and regular watchers realize this and take what they want and leave what they don't.

Hopefully so, #4. My good “stay-at-home” mother banned some cartoons that she believed were teaching bad examples waaay back in the day, when my siblings and I were children. Times have changed and cartoons have certainly changed. They have become indoctrination tools. Thankfully, it is easier to simply program the television to ban the bad for you these days.
