Harry Reid, the former Democrat leader of the U.S. Senate, left the Senate in 2017 and died in 2021, but his ghost must still be haunting the chamber. How else can one explain why the Republican majority is continuing the blockade Reid initiated back in 2007 to prevent a Republican President (George W. Bush) from using recess appointments to get around the various roadblocks Reid put in place to delay confirming Bush's nominees?

Republicans elect the laziest ,most gutless, almost useless people to office. Probably because most Republicans have jobs and don't need to suckle at the government tit.

This is infuriating. Either our side is intellectually disabled or we need to consider if there's bribery going on.

Bribery, poster #3? How about blackmail? Or maybe a severe case of Rinovirus?

It is such a disgrace that President Trump cannot have his nominees have full-staff by now. Our Congress is such an inadequate lazy bunch who truly care nothing about our country. I received a copy of our Constitution in the mail recently from Dr. Ben Carson. It is hard to imagine our Congress being the authors of such a fine document. It took disciplline and intellectual ability and grace, and too many of these guys do nothing but play politics. They are so small-minded. I don't know why they don't retire so we can get some fresh blood in there.

"Six Republican senators — Susan Collins, Mitt Romney, Dan Sullivan, Shelley Moore Capito, Lisa Murkowski and Rob Portman — joined Democrats in voting to approve the nomination. "People are accustomed to going back," Thune said. "This is the time of year when they go back and interact with their constituents and talk about some of the things that we've gotten done."

Capito has been a huge disappointment here in WV. If you listen to her talk she seems reasonable enough, but if you watch what she does she's no better than Romney. It may be time for me to vote for the democrat just to get rid of her.

With leaders like LowT Thune is anyone surprised? LBJ was a real piece of work, but he was probably one of the best Majority leaders in terms of getting things done.

Harry Reid was one of the worst congress critters ever and that's saying something given some of the trash that occupies the Capitol today. Obstruction is not governing. Try something positive for once. Collins, Murkowski, Talib, Omar, Hirono, AOC, you hear me?

I don't get it. What does Trump want--Senate to stay in session to approve his appointments or to recess so he can make his appointments. I know, he wants them approved but if the dims won't allow it, get the dimcoms out of DC so the the recess appointments can take hold. Lock the d---m doors.

You can always count on Republicans to reach across the aisle and not rock the boat. Meanwhile it's a street fight for Democrats whether or not they hold the gavel. It's unbelievable.
