The Department of Justice (DOJ) has fined a Mississippi-based company for favoring foreign workers on H-2A visas over American job applicants. This week, the DOJ announced a settlement agreement with H2A Complete II Inc., a Mississippi firm that specializes in funneling foreign H-2A visa workers to United States farms after the department’s prosecutors found that Americans were being discriminated against. “American workers seeking jobs in their own country deserve priority,” Attorney General Pam Bondi said. “This Department of Justice will continue to protect our country’s workers from unlawful discrimination in favor of foreign nationals.”

I'm not sure that's illegal. It's all about money. Companies hire H1B visa workers instead of Americans all of the time. They are often outright replacements of American workers. It's just a part of the scene in the IT industry.

2, hiring h1b over Americans is illegal. That's the point. It is completely unenforced but you cannot legally hire an h1b if an American is available. I worked in tech. The numbers of easy end runs around h1b hiring laws are numerous.

What about the 250 Disney employees replaced by H1B visa workers? Or was that before Bondi's term? https://cis.org/Miano/Former-Disney-Workers-Abandon-Legal-Fight-H1Bs Former Disney Workers Abandon Legal Fight on H-1Bs By John Miano on May 10, 2018 The former Disney workers have thrown in the towel in their legal fight. As you may remember, the management at Disney replaced 250 American computer programmers and used the H-1B visa program to replace them with cheap, foreign workers. The history of the Disney displacements shows that the media needs to drop the false narrative about the H-1B program that industry lobbyists have fed it: [H-1B] was designed to help American companies fill jobs with high-skilled workers from other countries, when there aren't enough Americans available to do the work. There is no requirement that H-1B workers fill only high-skilled jobs. There is no requirement that Americans are not available before getting H-1B workers. However, in 1998, Congress explicitly made it legal to replace Americans with H-1B workers. In 2004, Congress changed the H-1B "prevailing wage" rules to allow employers to pay H-1B worker at the 17th percentile of U.S. wages. For an honest debate on H-1B, we need to argue over the true intent of H-1B as enacted by Congress: The purpose of the H-1B program is to provide employers cheap foreign labor to replace American workers. No other statement of purpose is consistent with what Congress has put into law. The sleazy behavior of the Disney management and the unsuccessful legal challenges to it demonstrate that the H-1B program is not fixable because it is not broken. The H-1B program is not being abused; the H-1B program itself is abusive and needs to be completely discarded. Topics: H-1B Nonimmigrant Visa Progam

A little bit off topic but still about foreign workers. Premera-Blue Cross has started laying their American employees off and sending the work to India. We have a close relative who has been employed at the company for several years and is worried they will lose their job. The president of the company is paid $13.6 million and the other executives make $230.000 yearly. (I looked that up). seems unfair they are millionaires while sending good American jobs out of the country while they live like kings.

Well maybe this will get the attention of the manufacturers that first you check out the credentials of each applicant...and then the American should be given priority over foreign applicants....but it must be by merit....WE've had enough DEI hires these past four years to last a lifetime....it still causes me to wonder...just WHY these four years were orchestrated by the Washington elites....what did they have tp gain...and ole Pete...mayor from Indiana....is stepping up to run in 2028....some one tell him...lite in the loafers is not gonna help him this time...it's over for him...

The visa laws should be amended to explicitly prohibit these "middleman" operations. They exist solely to enable employers to evade the law against replacing Americans with cheaper visa holders.

In less than six months, the entire world has been turned upside down. There is no longer such a thing as conventional wisdom or the status quo. The unthinkable has become the banal. Take illegal immigration -- remember the 10,000 daily illegal entries under former President Joe Biden? Recall the only solution was supposedly "comprehensive immigration reform"--a euphemism for mass amnesties. Now, there is no such thing as daily new illegal immigration. It simply disappeared with common-sense enforcement of existing immigration laws -- and a new president.

Just weeks after the US-Israeli victory over Iran, President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu show no signs of resting on their laurels. Indeed, the two leaders appear determined not just to halt Iranian nuclear proliferation, but to fundamentally remake the region for the better. When I served as secretary of state in the first Trump administration, our team recognized that the toxic dynamics of the Middle East could only be reshaped by demonstrating that shared interests can overcome historical grievances and weaken bad actors. Iran, we knew, has been the primary source of bloodshed and instability since the mullahs came to power in 1979.

Abbas cannot have forgotten the atrocities Hamas committed against his men during the 2007 coup. Some of his loyalists were dragged to the streets and lynched, while others were thrown from the high floors of tall buildings. In addition to the 2007 coup, Hamas, a few years later, was caught planning a second coup to try to take over the West Bank as well as the Gaza Strip. The calls for Hamas to "join political action" actually aim to legitimize the terror group and present its leaders as a bunch of politicians seeking seats in parliament and jobs in government,

Will President Donald Trump soon fire Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, as is now hotly rumored? And do you care? If not, maybe you should. Because at this moment, the Fed chief seems to think he has to re-fight the inflation battle he lost three years ago. And his refusal to cut rates is starting to choke our economy. Make no mistake: Having lost the confidence of the president who appointed him, Powell should resign. As a matter of practical stewardship of the nation’s central bank, Powell’s effectiveness as a financial leader has been called into question. Time to go. But Powell’s defenders bizarrely argue that Fed chairmen can’t be fired.

The 51-48 vote on what’s known as a rescissions package is a victory for Trump, who has vowed to shrink the size of the federal government, and who has come under fire from Democrats for adding a projected $3.3 trillion to the debt over the next decade by signing his One Big, Beautiful Bill Act into law earlier this month.

The Supreme Court is allowing President Donald Trump to put his plan to dismantle the Education Department back on track — and to go through with laying off nearly 1,400 employees. With the three liberal justices in dissent, the court on Monday paused an order from U.S. District Judge Myong Joun in Boston, who issued a preliminary injunction reversing the layoffs and calling into question the broader plan. The layoffs “will likely cripple the department,” Joun wrote. A federal appeals court refused to put the order on hold while the administration appealed.

Democrats have been flooding the airwaves and social media with desperate messages trying to paint the ICE raids on a California marijuana farm as proof that the Trump administration is comprised of Nazis who want to punish hard-working, law-abiding crop pickers who are just trying to “feed the nation.” In reality, many of the illegal alien workers picked up were inadvertently trying to get the nation stoned, and multiple instances of forced illegal child labor were uncovered.
