Camp Mystic, a girls-only camp on the Guadalupe River, was evacuated on Friday due to heavy flooding in the west of Kerrville in Kerr County. This comes as multiple deaths were reported in Texas after heavy rain caused flash flooding. Over 10 inches (25 centimeters) of heavy rain fell in just a few hours overnight in central Kerr County, causing flash flooding of the Guadalupe River. The Kerr County sheriff's office confirmed fatalities but did not provide additional details. Kerr County Judge Rob Kelly said that an unknown number of children are missing from summer camps. He further added that at least six people have died.

Old saying...."God willing and the creeks don't rise." Yes, sometimes the creeks rise, and we have to be smart enough and careful enough to get out of the way. Sorry for the lost lives, glad it isn't worse. Around here in KC area we repeatedly had fatal results when people insisted on driving around road barriers to drive into high water streams. It is incredible to me the lengths that people go to, and the effort they make to ignore warning signs to drive into high water rather than to be inconvenienced by having to drive around or just not go someplace today. And too often with fatal results.

I used to live in that area, was a white water guide on the local rivers, there was a similar very fast and massive flood in '87 or so...If I recall ten died. I can only imagine what floods were like before the creation of Canyon Dam/Lake.

Kerr Co Sheriff reported at 4 pm central of 13 confirmed dead but expect to have more. I spoke with a friend whose daughter is a councilor at Camp Mystic and they are all supposed to be accounted for. But this is a dynamic situation. Water rose >20 feet in minutes. And more rain and flows expected downstream later today and tonight.

The video of the bridge in Kerrville - that is about 30' of water under that bridge, normally 1 foot. Hunt had about 11" of rain, and north of that is Guadalupe river, several branches looked to have received 11", which would have doubled when the met together. Heard camp Waldemar are all accounted for, Mystic has at least 7 elementary girls currently unaccounted for from our dallas school district. Councilors woke up in cabins w water to their chins, got girls out of windows, not sure about the missing...

Number 1: When Benjamin Hawkins, General Superintendent for Indian Affairs 1796 -1818, wrote in his letter to the President: God wiling and the Creek don't rise". Because "Creek" was capitalized and singular, it was assumed that he meant the Creek Nation.

The tragic news out of Texas continues to get worse as the death toll from a flash flood has risen to 51, including at least 15 children. Over two dozen girls from a summer camp in the area remain unaccounted for, with the search-and-rescue effort continuing in the night. Sadly, the chances of finding more people alive diminish by the hour, and the situation is likely to become even more heartbreaking over the next few days. Having younger children myself, I simply can't fathom what the impacted families are going through. My prayers are with them, and I can continue to hope

My first thought when reading about this was, what were these violent activists planning? Why were they wearing body armor and masks? Here’s what happened: a police officer in Alvarado, Texas, responded to a report about a suspicious individual outside an ICE detention center in the late hours of the Fourth of July, according to authorities. When the officer tried to approach the suspect, an unknown number of assailants started shooting and the officer was struck in the neck. Luckily, he was treated and released by a local hospital, but the incident is nonetheless disturbing:

The helicopter lands near Ingram High School and seven young girls run for safety. At least 23 girls were reported missing from Camp Mystic near Hunt, Texas, in Kerr County. It is not clear if the seven girls rescued by the Texas National Guard are from the list of missing girls. The video shows the TNG Blackhawk landing near Ingraham High School. Seven girls quickly exit the aircraft and run to the shelter.

President Donald Trump signed the GOP’s “big, beautiful” tax and spending package at a White House ceremony on Friday, fulfilling his wish to enact the biggest domestic policy legislation of his term by July 4. Trump triumphantly signed the GOP megabill after months of hard-fought, interparty negotiations that, earlier this week, culminated in contentious House and Senate votes for the legislation. Passing the megabill is a major victory for House Speaker Mike Johnson (R., La.) and Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R., S.D.), who had to navigate deep political and ideological differences between different GOP factions within their chambers.

It added that it was "fully prepared to immediately enter into a round of negotiations on the mechanism for implementing this framework," according to a translation of the post. On Tuesday, President Trump announced that Israel had agreed to a proposal for a two-month ceasefire. At the time, neither Israel nor Hamas confirmed Mr. Trump's statement.

Donald Trump has never been one to shy away from a fight, but this time, he’s done more than just rattle the Democrats—he’s practically handed Republicans the keys to a midterm landslide in 2026. The playbook was simple, the execution flawless, and the results devastating for the opposition. Here’s what happened. When Zohran Mamdani, the antisemitic socialist, won the Democratic primary for mayor of New York City, many Democrats were less than thrilled. Last month, the Associated Press reported that his victory “exposed anew the fiery divisions plaguing the Democratic Party as it struggles to repair its brand nearly half a year into Donald Trump’s presidency.” Many progressives cheered

Demonstrators were seen being tackled to the ground as officers deployed smoke bombs and tear gas to try and control the crowd yesterday. Dramatic footage posted on X by independent journalist Katie Daviscourt shows flares lighting up the night sky, as protesters clash with officers in riot gear who appeared to fire rubber bullets into the crowd. The demonstration occurred on the 28th day that protesters have been occupying the ICE facility. Zohran Mamdani has admitted listing his race as “black” on a college admission form. He is not black—he is ethnically South Asian because, by his own admission, his ancestors all came from India. It is impossible to know what went through his head when Mamdani lied on his Columbia University admission form, but the most obvious reason for doing so would have been to give himself an advantage over other applicants. If that was the case, it was not just lying; it was cheating. Lying on a college admission form is not a criminal offense, but most would say it is unethical.

The Black Lives Matter hashtag and slogan was developed in 2013 in reaction to the (lawful self-defense) shooting of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman. The following year, 2014, the organization was formalized by self-avowed “trained Marxists” after the (lawful) police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. Those two shootings falsely were portrayed as racially motivated, while the facts (which we covered in exhaustive detail at the time) proved otherwise. Nonetheless the narrative was set and hating America and being American was necessary to be accepted into Democrat spaces. Even Bernie was not spared the wrath of BLM activists.
