For political junkies who cut their teeth on “60 Minutes,” “Meet the Press,” CNN, and Fox News, longform podcasts were a godsend. Finally freed of commercial restraints and surface-level superficialities, longform podcasts took you beyond the talking points, treating audiences to a deep dive of a topic’s intricacies. Even when the podcast host had limited knowledge of the subject matter (Joe Rogan, I’m looking at you), the benefit of the longform platform was that it facilitated an open-ended, free-floating conversation where both sides learned more about the other.
But there was an important catch: It only worked when both sides were acting in good faith.

Well before any of this happened I was starting to tire of Tucker. I have noticed that more and more social media stars on the right (our side) have been trying to elevate themselves by tearing down their competition. This is so stupid. Is that what Tucker is doing? If so, I cannot imagine his audience growing as a result of this demeanor and direction.
We'll have to watch and see if Tucker's audience is on board with this. My guess is that only the left (AOC, Bernie, Omar, etc) appreciate what Tucker is doing, but they are certainly not going to get behind him.
I am hoping Tucker comes to his senses and becomes a valuable asset on our side once again.

I was a Tucker fan before he went off the deep end with Crop Circles and UFOs.

In my best Aunt Mildred's Birmingham voice, "Bless his heart." He might need to go back to work for his sanity's sake.

Is this now the Tucker as he always truly was? Or has he changed? I understand that being smarmy and cynical was his comedic persona on air but he seems different now and I don't like the Tucker who has emerged. Maybe he kept his real self and beliefs bottled up because he had bosses to whom he answered. Now he is wealthy, self-employed, and no longer needs to hide himself. But I won't watch him anymore and simply do not like him. I pray he wakes up - because he's become a vacuous parody of the man he once was.

I guess Carlson wants to go back to MSNBC where he can wear his bow ties and spout Russian propaganda.

I have, over the last year or so, lost a great deal of respect for Carlson. I thought FOXNews was stupid for firing him, but now I thing they were right on!

Rush Limbaugh called Tucker “ Chatsworth Osborne IV” for a reason.

.... seems to me that about 90% of podcasts are self-indulgent exercises in mental masturbation....no matter the purported topic, every schmuck who has one thinks it's a GREAT contribution to mankind ........... and they hopefully get paid ( a happy ending)

Tucker Carlson is doing what all grifters do - taking outrageous positions, making controversial statements and fomenting dissent - all in the pursuit of headlines and clicks. The more attention he gets, the higher his income. As Rush so aptly observed “Follow the money”.

I think Tucker is in need of our prayers. He has had deep discussions about the divine and his faith, but at times his actions don't bear the fruit/evidence of that faith. Is he saved? I don't know--his actions are curious.
I pray for his salvation.

Tucker wants a CNN show. So he went to the dark side to win their approval.

I think we got a glimpse (ok, more than a glimpse) of Tucker’s Achilles heel. His instincts are decent, and his moral compass has pointed due north for some time.
But in that increasingly rabid need to adhere to his now-famous moral compass, he has become defensive, churlish and thin-skinned; and in that process he has lost the art of diplomacy, and squandered that charming self-effacement that made him so famous.
I hope he gets his mojo back.

#2 "I am hoping Tucker comes to his senses and becomes a valuable asset on our side once again." That's what we need, everybody singing from the same song sheet. In theory, even Israel needs the 10th man to pose counter positions (ha, ha). Unfortunately, we have everyone parroting the MSM organs who get their direction from the IC.

I dunno. Years ago, Glen Beck started going off the rails and some of his radio programs got kind of weird. But he straightened out and is great to listen to now. Yeah, maybe Tucker needs to look in the mirror and see if he needs to do a reset, too. He could always take notes from Levin as to how to keep things on the level.

Oh no! Ted was asked very pointed question in response to wanting to destabilize yet another Middle Eastern country. Oh and a lot of people will die in the process. A power vacuum is going to lead to deaths, don't pretend otherwise.
Does anyone here REALLY believe that a leader installed with Israeli and US backing just going to be universally welcomed with open arms in Iran?
Is it too much to ask that anyone warmongering (yet again) that given our really poor track record on these things that we have every possible scrap of CORRECT info, before we do this?

I do not like Tucker. I do not agree with him on Ukraine, Russia, and now, on Israel. His girlish screaming laugh is a true indicator of a wobbly, emotional, and irrational mind. I REALLY do not like him, I detest him.

#25 has a point, but this is hardly the first time either Ted Cruz or Tucker Carlson have been "counted out" by would-be arbiters of conservative correctness. When the dust settles both men will still be standing because neither is afraid to make us angry and both are more useful than not.

#20: You're right about Beck, but he was helped off the ledge by his good friend Mark Levin, who talked sense to him about Trump in a way that made Beck realize he'd been wrong. If Carlson has any friends like that, they should reach out to him now. Carlson has certainly made an enemy of Levin.
