That used to be the watchword for investigative journalists. If you want to uncover corruption, find out where the money is coming from and where it is going. At least it used to be.
Today? Not so much. At least not when doing so could implicate Democrats or upset the left’s agenda.
Case in point is the Los Angeles riots. There’s plenty of reason to believe that the riots are being organized and financed by unsavory characters whose mission is to foment division and violence in the United States.

The latest monthly spending and revenue data from the Treasury Department. shows that from February through May of this year, federal spending was $37 billion higher than those same months last year.
Got that? Higher.
It is axiomatic that both Republicans and Democrats will exaggerate the size of any spending cut proposal, for the simple reason that it appeals to their partisan supporters.
The “One Big, Beautiful Bill” is no exception. The numbers tell the tale. There are no spending cuts, at least, not in the way every household on a budget would count as a cut.
That’s not what the headlines scream. Instead, it’s all things such as this from the left:

The National Guard was called in to California to protect law enforcement officers who are executing legitimate operations from the feral mobs. Had the previous president fulfilled his constitutional duty, as he promised he would when he took the oath of office, the spasm of violence over illegal immigrant arrests would have never happened, and President Donald Trump would have never had to make that call.

Whenever President Donald Trump does something that confounds his biggest supporters, the common response is: “Well, Trump is playing 4D chess.”
Some posited that this is what was going on after Trump’s initial response to Elon Musk’s bashing of the “Big, Beautiful Bill.” [snip]

IDF Spokesman Effie Defrin on Friday morning told a press conference that Iran had launched over 100 drones toward Israel in recent hours.
He also noted that over 200 IDF aircraft have attacked over 100 targets in Iran with over 330 munitions.
He did not say when they would reach Israel, but in April 2025, it took such drones several hours.
During that Iranian attack and another attack by Tehran on Israel in October 2024, Israel had a wide alliance of US, Brits, French, and other countries helping to defend it.
Longtime Democratic Washington, D.C., Delegate to the House of Representatives Eleanor Holmes Norton told reporters Tuesday that she intends to run for reelection in 2026. Norton, who turns 88 on Friday, replied “yeah, sure,” after she was asked if she is seeking reelection, Politico reported. When asked how she would respond to anyone questioning whether she is capable of continuing to serve in Congress at her age, Norton stated “I’m going to run,” adding “I don’t know why anybody would even ask me,” the outlet reported. Dreamliner plane bound for London with 242 people aboard crashed Thursday moments after takeoff from Ahmedabad in western India.
Video posted on social media appeared to show the jetliner descending followed by a fireball and a dark plume of smoke. It appeared to be the first fatal crash of a Boeing Dreamliner.
“It appears there are no survivors in the plane crash,” G.S. What a difference a few hours makes. Just when California Governor Gavin Newsom thought he had scored a political victory against President Trump, reality came crashing down courtesy of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
On Thursday night, Clinton-appointed Judge Charles B. Breyer handed Newsom what appeared to be an early Christmas present, ordering Trump to return control of the California National Guard to the Golden State's governor. Breyer claimed Trump's federalization of the Guard was "illegal" and violated both statutory authority and the Tenth Amendment.
