Longtime Democratic Washington, D.C., Delegate to the House of Representatives Eleanor Holmes Norton told reporters Tuesday that she intends to run for reelection in 2026. Norton, who turns 88 on Friday, replied “yeah, sure,” after she was asked if she is seeking reelection, Politico reported. When asked how she would respond to anyone questioning whether she is capable of continuing to serve in Congress at her age, Norton stated “I’m going to run,” adding “I don’t know why anybody would even ask me,” the outlet reported. Norton’s comments come after several recent reports have highlighted concerns over her age and ability to continue serving in Congress effectively.

Comments:

If that is what the people in DC want, why not?

She's not even a Representative, merely a non-voting delegate, making her even more impotent and inconsequential than your average Rat politician. And still she's clinging to what little power she has as if the survival of Civilization itself depends on it. She'll best be remembered as a tax evader, not for anything she accomplished as a delegate.

While Holmes may not have a vote in Congress, she is very vocal and active. As a Democrat (and most other COngress members of both parties), she most likely enjoys all of the perks and benefits that come with being in Congress. Why give it up when you have all of the rights but none of the responsibilities? She will stay in Congress and leech off the government until she is carried out.

Jackson said that during his time as Director of the White House Medical Unit (WHMU), he was responsible for signing O’Connor’s evaluations and fitness reports. During the interview, he said he thought about getting rid of O’Connor for a “variety of reasons” before accusing Biden’s doctor of inappropriate sexual behavior.

Let’s just get it over with, tough guy,” the defiant Democrat told NBC News on Sunday. Newsom’s taunt came soon after Homan had warned that the governor and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass could both face federal charges for trying to thwart ICE raids throughout the city.

Which means that in the first month of summer, we are exposed to the insufferable sights and sounds of pride flags, rainbows, and special nights held by sports teams, all so a minute portion of the population can inconvenience the rest of us.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) argued in a recent podcast appearance that part of President Trump’s strength lies in his ability to foster a sense of community, especially among young men. The comments from Walz, former Vice President Kamala Harris’s 2024 running mate, came during an appearance on the “Grounded” podcast hosted by former Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) and journalist Maritsa Georgiou. Asked by Georgiou about the GOP’s efforts to reach high school students, Walz noted Trump has excelled in reaching Americans who might feel disconnected from one another in an increasingly fragmented society.

A recent Democratic ad campaign claiming President Donald Trump’s tariffs have caused prices to “soar” is undercut by recent data painting a much rosier picture of the economy than Democrats’ talking points suggest. House Majority Forward (HMF), the nonprofit arm of a House Democratic leadership-aligned super PAC, announced a series of ads Wednesday targeting 26 House Republicans for supporting the president’s tariffs, which HMF claims has caused prices to skyrocket. However, several markers of inflation fell to four-year-lows in April while Americans’ wages are rising faster than the rate of inflation, the opposite of a trend that occurred during the Biden administration.

A federal judge late Thursday ruled that the federalization of parts of California's National Guard by President Donald Trump was "illegal," and ordered Trump to return control of the Guard to state Gov. Gavin Newsom "forthwith." But Judge Charles Breyer stayed his temporary restraining order from taking effect until 3 p.m. ET on Friday to allow the Trump administration to appeal his decision. The administration promptly did just that, asking the 9th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals to block Breyer's ruling from taking effect.

What a difference a few hours makes. Just when California Governor Gavin Newsom thought he had scored a political victory against President Trump, reality came crashing down courtesy of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. On Thursday night, Clinton-appointed Judge Charles B. Breyer handed Newsom what appeared to be an early Christmas present, ordering Trump to return control of the California National Guard to the Golden State's governor. Breyer claimed Trump's federalization of the Guard was "illegal" and violated both statutory authority and the Tenth Amendment. “That’s not where we live. We live in response to a monarch.
