Israel’s military headquarters may have been struck after Iran’s Islamic Republic unleashed a barrage of missiles on central Tel Aviv late Friday night. Alarming footage shared on social media — and verified by The New York Times — showed a strike slamming into an area that houses several military sites, including the Israel Defense Forces’ main command center. The dramatic clips captured interceptor missiles firing into the sky moments before a blinding flash, a thunderous boom, and the explosion of an incoming warhead.

As if things weren't tense enough already, some experts think that Iran may have been closer to assembling at least a primitive nuclear warhead than previously thought. That is, to put it mildly, disconcerting. Israel's recent attacks on Iran have been mostly aimed at destroying Iran's nuclear program along with un-aliving their senior military leaders, and if Israel had such intelligence, that may have led to the decision to attack.[snip] We should note that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, speaking on behalf of the U.S. intelligence community, is more skeptical.

The Mossad on Friday released stunning and rare video footage of its co-lead role with the air force in Israel's preemptive strike on Iran's ballistic missiles and air defenses. Three videos show the Mossad targeting ballistic missile targets, air defense targets, and general preparations for the attacks (with the agents' faces blurred out.) From the perspective of the videos, it appears the Mossad used drones from inside Iran to attack various targets.[snip] Although far more information has been publicized about the IDF's actions, these videos give readers a rare front seat into what normally are entirely clandestine operations that the Mossad does not even admit to.

Earlier today, while hosting Hugh Hewitt's show, I asked former Senator Jim Talent whether we could expect Israel to finally attack Iranian nuclear sites, after the mullahs refused to stop enriching uranium.[snip] Update: Benjamin Netanyahu made clear that this is not a one-night operation:[snip] JUST IN: Intel suggests ALL of Iran’s general staff, including the head of the military were ELIMINATED in tonight’s strikes by Israel[snip] Islamic Republic of Iran state media says the top commander of the IRGC, Hossein Salami, was targeted in the Israeli airstrikes and is dead.

Elon Musk should be happy now: the House voted to push through his DOGE cuts.[snip] Mr. Musk has opposed the budget reconciliation package for numerous reasons. His DOGE cuts were not included because they can’t be since this isn’t an appropriations bill. Now, they can be through a recissions package, which passed after two Republicans flipped their votes[snip]Rep. Don Bacon ended up flipping and voted YES on the first round of DOGE cuts, White House recissions package. After a lot of work and convincing.

As Katie covered earlier on Thursday night, Israel has begun its attack on Iran. The attack seemed imminent, as reports were coming in on Wednesday that this was a move that could be coming.[snip]Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth had "authorized the voluntary departure of military dependents from locations across the Middle East." Not long after the attack took place, Secretary of State Marco Rubio put out a statement about the preemptive attack. His statement stressed that the United States is in no way involved in such an attack. There was also a directive for Iran in Rubio's statement.

Louisiana doesn’t do everything right. Senator Bill Cassidy remaining in office is a clear depiction of that. In light of the insane protests we’ve seen from the far left over the past week (the same far left that has been fighting to keep illegal aliens from deportation), the Louisiana Freedom Caucus sent out a strong reminder to citizens of the state—essentially reminding them that if they feel threatened by protestors while in their car, they can legally run them over.

In the midst of a busy few weeks on the news front, the resolution of an old story managed to slip out — and it raises new questions about former President Joe Biden, ex-Secret Service head Kimberly Cheatle, and how they handled one of the highest profile White House scandals.[snip]a report from RealClearPolitics’ Susan Crabtree — [snip]the baggie of cocaine found in a White House locker in July 2023 — reported that the Secret Service acted to destroy the evidence the day after it closed the case and appears to have punished the official who Cheatle overruled when it came to destroying the narcotic substance.

In response to a threat by Iran to attack U.S. bases in the region, the State and Defense Departments have authorized the evacuation of dependents and non-essential staff from embassies and bases in the region, mainly Iraq, Kuwait and Bahrain. The threat by Iran comes as negotiations between the U.S. and Iran over the fate of Iran’s nuclear program continue, with the U.S. insisting Iran give up enrichment to prevent attainment of nuclear weapons or face military attacks on its nuclear facilities by either the U.S. or Israel.
