It appears DEI is still alive and well in the US Secret Service even though there has been a change of guard.
Two female US Secret Service Uniformed Division officers got into a physical fight outside of Barack Obama’s DC residence at 2:30 am on Wednesday.
It is unclear if anyone was injured or disciplined over the fight.
Per RealClearPolitics reporter Susan Crabtree:
Two female Secret Service Uniformed Division officers got into a physical fight outside former President Obama’s D.C. residence while guarding it. The fracas occurred at roughly 2:30 a.m. early Wednesday morning, according to two sources in the Secret Service community.

A Washington, D.C., court ordered University of Pennsylvania climate scientist Michael Mann to pay nearly $500,000 in legal fees combined to the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) and writer Rand Simberg on Thursday, 13 years after Mann first filed a defamation suit against the writer and think tank. In February 2024, Mann initially won his defamation trial against conservative writers Mark Steyn and Simberg, both of whom criticized his “hockey stick” climate model as flawed.

The Senate has voted to overturn the electric vehicle mandate in the state of California. This is going to cause some major anger and anxiety among the climate change activist community.
The EV mandate was one of the last things Joe Biden signed before leaving office. You may recall a last minute push by Biden’s team to advance as much climate change related legislation as they could during his final weeks in office.
The resolution to overturn the mandate passed along party lines with one Democrat senator voting for it as well.

Harmeet Dhillon, who is now the United States Assistant Attorney General under Trump, and runs the civil rights division, just did an interview with Tucker Carlson that is at times fascinating and outrageous.
Dhillon tells Carlson that the civil rights division of DOJ is famously liberal and that when she made it clear that they were going to adjust the division to align with the Trump presidency, that hundreds of lawyers quit. The ones who stuck around, actually held ‘crying sessions’ to express their unhappiness over the new reality.
It’s like they are a bunch of liberal college students who created a safe space. Just pathetic.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Thursday revoked Harvard University’s ability to enroll foreign students, prompting the school to immediately file a lawsuit on Friday. Within just hours, like clockwork, a far-left district judge blocked DHS’s action.
U.S. District Court Judge Allison D. Burroughs, an appointee of former President Barack Obama serving in Massachusetts, wrote in a two-page motion granting a temporary restraining order that Harvard “will sustain immediate and irreparable injury before there is an opportunity to hear from all parties.”

President Donald Trump probably has done more work in the first 100 days than Joe Biden did in all the time he occupied the Oval Office, and Trump is still hard at it. He knows he has four years, and he's trying to do all he can in the time he has.
One hallmark of the Trump agenda is to get energy up and going again, to ensure our energy independence, dominance, and security. We're already seeing positives from that agenda, including lower gas prices, including the lowest gas prices for Memorial Day in years.
Part of that energy agenda is nuclear energy.

Thursday morning, Alcindor chose to pour milk on stupid and gobble it down.

Democrats unveiled a bill on Thursday that would transfer authority over the US Marshals from the executive branch to the judicial branch to protect them from the Orange Man What Is Bad™.
And what is the point of this? I’m glad you asked, dear reader. It’s simple. Democrats are seemingly concerned that President Donald Trump’s constant criticisms of judges that stymie his agenda are inspiring nutjobs to threaten them, according to CBS News.
The legislation, which was obtained by CBS News, specifies that the presidential administration would lose its authority over the Marshals.

Many pro-Israel people I know, both Jewish and non-Jewish, are deeply worried about Trump’s current Middle East positions. He’s marginalizing Israel in negotiations with Saudi Arabia, accepting on the government’s behalf a luxury plane from double-dealing Qatar, and handing money to the goons in Syria. At the same time, he’s seemingly freezing out Israel, to the great consternation of Israel and its supporters.
So, what gives? Having read Charles Lipson’s superb analysis of the problems in dealing with an almost nuclear Iran, and how Biden created this monster, I suspect that “what gives” may be Trump trying an out-of-the-box approach to isolating Iran long enough for his economic policies

During a blistering Senate Appropriations Committee hearing, Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) was visibly floored after Energy Secretary Christopher Wright dropped a bombshell: the Department of Energy handed out a staggering $93 billion in loans and commitments during the final 76 days of the Biden administration, a figure that more than doubled the loan total from the previous 15 years combined.
Kennedy, in classic fashion, drilled in with precision. “The 76-day period you’re talking about, that’s the period between the time that President Trump was elected and President Biden left office. Is that right?”
“That is correct,” Wright confirmed.

I was supposed to be on a fun little trip this week. It's a long story, but I did something so ridiculously stupid that it prevented me from being able to go on said trip, and I had to postpone it for later in the year. So instead of heading to a little beach town where I'd spend the week swimming in the sea, dancing the night away to live music, and sipping on fruity adult beverages, I spent a large portion of the week parked in front of a livestream of Marco Rubio's congressional hearings.

When it comes to greed, slavery, racism and corruption in world history, America has nothing on Europe – our original colonizers – who, for nearly 200 years, controlled everything and everyone who lived in the New World. Today, from the way Europe’s narcissistic, intellectual class insults the character of most Americans, you would never guess that it was their countrymen who spawned many of the evils that have plagued our nation. Who are these people? These haughty new “royals” who act like they are semi-serious about the fallout from their colonialism in Africa and the Middle East, yet continue to mock and…

At issue was President Trump’s plenary authority to remove Gwynne Wilcox, a former member of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and Cathy A. Harris, the removed chair of the federal Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB). The NLRB oversees laws protecting workers’ rights and union elections nationwide, while the MSPB defends federal government workers against political discrimination.
The court’s order [READ ORDER HERE] is unsigned; however, it provides dissent from the three DEI appointed justices (lesbian, latina, black), and did not decide the underlying merits of the case, which will continue to play out in the lower courts. Presumably the court alignment was 6-3.

Leftist Prime Minister Mark Carney might not be as prissy and preposterous as his predecessor, Justin Trudeau, but he is just as tyrannical. He’s told Canadian companies that there will be penalties for those that don’t conduct business in the way he wants them to. We don’t think he’s building gulags in Nunavut for refusenik executives, but we see the hammer and sickle he’s trying to hide behind his back.
Before he was prime minister, Carney claimed that “climate change is an existential threat” and “we all recognize that,” both of which are untrue, but that’s the way authoritarians operate

Imagine a kindergarten talent show where every child is handed a microphone, told they’re brilliant, and encouraged to scream whatever they feel. Facts are optional, and tantrums are welcome. Now replace those toddlers with embittered semi-celebrities clinging to cultural relevance, amplify their egos with national airtime, and broadcast it five days a week. That’s The View. What once was pitched as a platform for intelligent dialogue has morphed into a bitter cocktail of rage, identity politics, and intellectual laziness. Once known for its various voices, The View has devolved into a soapbox for those who believe their outrage is a virtue.

Judge James C. The case of AARP v. Trump dealt with one of the many attempts to secure via forum-shopping that which the far left could never achieve at the ballot box:

President Donald Trump this week took important steps to advance his “Golden Dome” missile-defense system — and not a moment too soon.
For years, administrations of both parties have failed to devote sufficient resources to missile defense, even as China and Russia have sprinted to develop new ways to threaten the American homeland.
Our margin of safety has badly eroded in the face of these adversaries’ “ballistic, hypersonic, and cruise missiles capable of striking the homeland with either conventional or nuclear warheads,” as Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Tuesday. A new Defense Intelligence Agency assessment this month pointed in particular to Beijing’s and Moscow’s aggressive efforts to field new hypersonic glide vehicles,

The Trump administration alleged Thursday that Columbia University violated federal civil rights law by acting with “deliberate indifference” towards harassment of Jewish students on campus since October 2023.
The US Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights accused Columbia of violating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color and national origin in programs and activities that receive federal funding. There's some breaking news about the shooting this evening. The FBI affidavit in support of the charges against Elias Rodriguez has been released and along with it some disturbing details about the crime.
On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at approximately 9:08 pm, members of the Metropolitan Police Department's (MPD) First District were dispatched to investigate a shooting at the intersection of 3rd and F Streets, Northwest, Washington D.C. Upon the officers arriving at the scene, the officers observed Decedent-1 and Decedent-2 suffering from gunshot wounds.
The affidavit identifies Decedent-1 as Sarah Milgrim and Decedent-2 as Yaron Lischinsky.
