It appears DEI is still alive and well in the US Secret Service even though there has been a change of guard. Two female US Secret Service Uniformed Division officers got into a physical fight outside of Barack Obama’s DC residence at 2:30 am on Wednesday. It is unclear if anyone was injured or disciplined over the fight. The fracas occurred at roughly 2:30 a.m. early Wednesday morning, according to two sources in the Secret Service community.

A Washington, D.C., court ordered University of Pennsylvania climate scientist Michael Mann to pay nearly $500,000 in legal fees combined to the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) and writer Rand Simberg on Thursday, 13 years after Mann first filed a defamation suit against the writer and think tank. In February 2024, Mann initially won his defamation trial against conservative writers Mark Steyn and Simberg, both of whom criticized his “hockey stick” climate model as flawed.

The Senate has voted to overturn the electric vehicle mandate in the state of California. This is going to cause some major anger and anxiety among the climate change activist community. The EV mandate was one of the last things Joe Biden signed before leaving office. You may recall a last minute push by Biden’s team to advance as much climate change related legislation as they could during his final weeks in office. The resolution to overturn the mandate passed along party lines with one Democrat senator voting for it as well.

Harmeet Dhillon, who is now the United States Assistant Attorney General under Trump, and runs the civil rights division, just did an interview with Tucker Carlson that is at times fascinating and outrageous. Dhillon tells Carlson that the civil rights division of DOJ is famously liberal and that when she made it clear that they were going to adjust the division to align with the Trump presidency, that hundreds of lawyers quit. The ones who stuck around, actually held ‘crying sessions’ to express their unhappiness over the new reality. It’s like they are a bunch of liberal college students who created a safe space. Just pathetic.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Thursday revoked Harvard University’s ability to enroll foreign students, prompting the school to immediately file a lawsuit on Friday. Within just hours, like clockwork, a far-left district judge blocked DHS’s action. U.S. District Court Judge Allison D. Burroughs, an appointee of former President Barack Obama serving in Massachusetts, wrote in a two-page motion granting a temporary restraining order that Harvard “will sustain immediate and irreparable injury before there is an opportunity to hear from all parties.”

Harris, the removed chair of the federal Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB). U.S. President Donald Trump said on May 23 that the United States will impose a 50 percent tariff on the European Union soon. “The European Union, which was formed for the primary purpose of taking advantage of the United States on TRADE, has been very difficult to deal with,” Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social. He added later that “our discussions with them are going nowhere” and that a 50 percent tariff is planned to begin on June 1.

Five House Republicans voted present, opposed or missed the vote on President Donald Trump’s “one big, beautiful bill,” which included major spending and tax cuts. The Trump administration alleged Thursday that Columbia University violated federal civil rights law by acting with “deliberate indifference” towards harassment of Jewish students on campus since October 2023. The US Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights accused Columbia of violating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color and national origin in programs and activities that receive federal funding. There's some breaking news about the shooting this evening. The FBI affidavit in support of the charges against Elias Rodriguez has been released and along with it some disturbing details about the crime. On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at approximately 9:08 pm, members of the Metropolitan Police Department's (MPD) First District were dispatched to investigate a shooting at the intersection of 3rd and F Streets, Northwest, Washington D.C. Upon the officers arriving at the scene, the officers observed Decedent-1 and Decedent-2 suffering from gunshot wounds. The affidavit identifies Decedent-1 as Sarah Milgrim and Decedent-2 as Yaron Lischinsky.
