I'm going to enjoy writing this too much. The FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Albany, N.Y., have opened a criminal investigation into allegations of mortgage fraud involving New York Attorney General Letitia "No One Is Above the Law" James, a source with direct knowledge of the probe confirmed to The New York Post. The investigation, initially revealed by the Albany Times Union, comes on the heels of a formal referral to the Justice Department by Federal Housing Finance Agency Director William Pulte, who last month urged prosecutors to examine James’s conduct.

If I recall correctly, Tishie signed a mortgage stating that she resided in VA before she filed charges against PDT. The NY AG must reside in NY BUT.....Tishie stated that she was residing in VA. Therefore, she was not the NY AG when she filed the charges. 'Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.'

You can bet your bottom dollar that Abbe Lowell will be paid handsomely (with money from the taxpayers) to defend Letitia and depending on the outcome of the case, some of those legal fees will find their way into Ms. James’ bank account.

If Leticia James is any sort of experienced prosecutor she would know that it is not a good idea for federal criminal investigators to be sniffing around her past life. Since she obviously signed the mortgage applications falsely listing her father as being her spouse that are in themselves instances of fraud in violation of the law. So there is no telling what else those federal criminal investigators might well find. So it is not past the realm of possibility that James may seek to make a deal to call the ongoing investigation off. We will see!

What a raving maniac she's become! Shades of Obama's pastor more voters should have recognized before we got stuck with that con job in the White House. Who votes for these types as that is scary in itself. Of course she thinks she is bigger than life so entitled to do whatever she wants and who would dare to challenge it? Just seeing her sitting through those clown trials on Trump smirking should have shown her true colors. There's always room for her with the BLM leadership now as they are the experts on laundering $$$ into exclusive real estate.

Schnadenfrueda-licious! Letitia must have read Saul Alinsky's "Rule for Radicals." One of these rules is: Accuse your opponent of what you yourself are doing. James's mistake was leaving a paper trail at the federal level. Even if the New York taxpayers have to pay for her legal defense, I can't imagine she'll be able to keep her job.

Relax, folks. She won't be going to prison. At worst, there will be a fat fine and her mortgage may be declared immediately due and owing. Her big worry is that she may be suspended--probably not disbarred--by the NY State Bar Association and have to step down from her lofty perch. She stands a good chance of being widely humiliated--which is fine with me. "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall." Proverbs 16:18.

The province of Alberta has a legitimate grievance with the ROC (Rest of Canada). According to the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, since the inception of Canada’s equalization program in 1957, which sees the wealthier provinces subsidizing their less fortunate counterparts, Alberta has made a net contribution of $67 billion, $2.9 billion alone in 2021 — which in turn represents only a portion of the province’s immense financial contribution to federal coffers and the governments and residents of other provinces. The Fraser Institute notes that the equalization drain represents “just a small part of the province’s outsized contribution to confederation in recent years.” It calculates that “the gap between Albertans’

Former President Joe Biden appeared on “The View” earlier this week, and Democrats are about as happy as a housefly in a spider web. The former president sat down with the ladies on “The View” and discussed his presidency while slamming President Donald Trump, saying he had “the worst 100 days any president’s ever had.” Biden laughably suggested that he was in full control of his faculties while serving as president. However, he did take a modicum of responsibility for the Democrats’ humiliating losses in 2024, saying, “I was in charge, and he won.” There were some rather awkward moments during his appearance in which his wife, former first lady Jill Biden,

In our modern age, the electric grid is the mother of all networks. Without electricity, advanced forms of transportation and communications virtually grind to a halt and nearly all digital and electronic devices are rendered practically useless. When the grid goes down, we lose conveniences like air conditioning, lighting, and other amenities that we often take for granted. Several days ago, Spain, Portugal, and parts of France and Belgium lost power for an extended period of time, demonstrating just how devastating a total grid collapse can be to our modern way of life. During this colossal blackout, the largest that Europe has ever experienced, more than 50 million people

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Dozens of residents were urgently evacuated from a 12-story condominium building on Tuesday after construction workers discovered a growing crack in a support column in the building’s parking garage. What we know: The incident unfolded quickly as Clearwater Fire & Rescue and Clearwater police officers went door to door, evacuating about 60 people from the South Beach III Condos, located at 1460 Gulf Boulevard. No injuries were reported, and the building has not collapsed, but officials say no one will be allowed back inside until engineers deem it safe. Today the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence released a report on the FBI’s investigation of James (“Tom”) Hodgkinson’s attempt to assassinate the Republican House members’ baseball team. You can read the report here. The Committee excoriates the FBI for mislabeling Hodgkinson’s firing of 70 rounds at Republican Congressmen an instance of “suicide by cop.” That claim never made any sense. Hodgkinson lived in Illinois, and if his overriding objective had been suicide, he didn’t need to drive to Washington, D.C. They have cops in Illinois. He didn’t need to case out the park

In 1950 the Motor City was home to nearly two million people and built half the cars in the world. Today two-thirds of those people are gone and its auto industry is a shell of its former self. After decades of decline, Detroit is on the way back with a new can-do attitude. But its troubled history gives today’s urban leaders

Habemus papam — we have a pope, and progressive Catholics will likely be pleased. And for the first time ever, the pope is an American. Cardinal Robert Prevost, now Leo XIV, is an American who also has Peruvian citizenship. He was a favorite of the late Pope Francis but has often kept a fairly low public profile, meaning that while his tendencies indicate a less traditional and strictly doctrinal perspective, his likely actions as pope have yet to be clearly predicted. But his first speech ominously seemed much in line with progressive rhetoric. It is unfortunate that the new pope was a favorite of the late Pope Francis, who prioritized leftist politics
