I’m in New York for last night’s Manhattan Institute’s annual Alexander Hamilton Award dinner. Held last night at Cipriani on 42nd Street, this year the award honored long-time Manhattan Institute chairman Paul Singer. As of last night, Mr. Singer has stepped down and been succeeded as MI chairman by Betsy DeVos. Mr. Singer is the founder and president of Elliott Investment Management. He is also the philanthropic supporter of conservative and Jewish causes. Is that the reason that the lunatic left was out in force at the event last night? I don’t know, but they were. If NYPD had not been out in force to provide security along with others, the “protesters”

The FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Albany, N.Y., have opened a criminal investigation into allegations of mortgage fraud involving New York Attorney General Letitia "No One Is Above the Law" James, a source with direct knowledge of the probe confirmed to The New York Post. An alligator attacked and killed a woman who was canoeing with her husband on a central Florida lake Tuesday afternoon, authorities said, after her spouse tried unsuccessfuly to fight off the predator.
The attack occurred near the mouth of Tiger Creek into Lake Kissimmee, south of Orlando, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said. It's near the same location as a March alligator attack in which a woman was bitten on the elbow while kayaking.
At a news conference Wednesday, FWC Maj. Evan Laskowski said the woman was sitting in the bow of a 14-foot canoe when the attack happened. She and her husband were in about 2.5 feet

Today the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence released a report on the FBI’s investigation of James (“Tom”) Hodgkinson’s attempt to assassinate the Republican House members’ baseball team. You can read the report here. The Committee excoriates the FBI for mislabeling Hodgkinson’s firing of 70 rounds at Republican Congressmen an instance of “suicide by cop.”

A man and his dog were killed in a suspected black bear attack in rural southwest Florida, prompting a search for the animal and warnings for residents to stay away from the area, state wildlife officials said Monday.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) said the deadly encounter occurred near Jerome, in Collier County, east of Naples and just south of the Big Cypress Wildlife Management Area.
Authorities have not released the man's name or said exactly when the attack took place.

The Jeffrey Epstein saga may be years in the unfolding.
